The inability to separate real from fantasy may indeed be the reason people like him truly believe in themselves as an intercessor to God — when the very Bible they thump says that it NOT THEIR JOB — it’s Jesus Christ’s!

Knowing full well that I’ll probably get dumped on here in the comments for saying so, there is a purpose for beliefs, spirituality, and even Christianity… but when an organized religion grows so top-heavy that it forgets that we are all pond-scum on the pyramid of power (for the unchurched, that’s: God / Angels / Humans / Animals & Plants / non-living things) compared to Christ, who is often referred to as ‘our elder brother’ in a figurative sense, but is on the God-plane, already being part of the family which is referred to as God, and led by the one called God the Father.

Now, having said all of that; I highly doubt that anyone above the human plane has any trouble discerning the the clear line between reality and fantasy — so I hardly think they’re even slightly put out by the whole thing. Perhaps only a little annoyed and saddened that humanity doesn’t read (or follow) the instructions; but hey, that’s been true ever since Adam and Eve.

Would not the developmental course of Mankind follow the same patterned matrix characteristics as that of a progenies relationship to its progenitor and primogenitor? Therefore just like the myth of Santa Claus, as that being, a temporal belief dispelled by the natural course of intellectual development. Then too, couldn’t man’s belief in an overseeing governance of justice, forgiveness and provider of hope and direction, also be a designed myth provided by convention as man’s moral compass and a wellspring of fellowship and goodwill?

Was God around for the caveman, or did he conveniently appear as mankind’s intellectual awareness of his own fragile mortality also came into being? Could not the invention of an all powerful myth, be a manifestation of man’s desire for something solid to anchor and hold onto against an unrelenting oscillating tide of universal change, and isn’t this why God appeared differently, but with the same message, simultaneously in differing cultures.

Then too, couldn’t the feared “Armageddon” represent an intellectual awakening and the end of a people’s need for religious leaders like CUFI founder John Hagee, who themselves prosper off the growing public fears and the misery of the innocent.

Because of a connate sense of belonging, when asked, individuals will always describe their political, as well as religious secular affiliations (personas) as that pertaining to their broader mindset of humanity and not necessarily referencing their individual allegiance to a monastic and/or perfunctory restrictions and responsibilities.
Therefore, referring to America’s religious community as being in and of itself, an indication of a growing American religious predominance, is disingenuous. When the fact is America’s overall religious devotion is in decline. Therein demonstrating the globally inclusive purpose of inculcating religious doctrines was to create an instinctual human sense of morality, as the advantage of leverage.

This is also, evidence that Darwin’s natural selection also pertains to, and encompasses the advancement of a collective ameliorating knowledge versus the individual’s archaic and antiquated solipsistic beliefs. Holism, where the “whole” has a greater value (reality) then the sum of its comprising parts.

Come on people get real, God is in the process and not sitting on high orchestrating and adjudicating every aspect of life. Sooner or later your going to have to realize that; God, Santa Claus, The Lone Ranger and Nietzsche’s Superman etc… are all one in the same and represent just figments (placebo) of our imagination, and as such, just epochal facets along the road of evolutionary development.

As somebody who was raised Jewish I feel perfectly comfortable telling you to STFU about this now. I’m also a woman so I was able to see how you can dish it out but you can’t take it.

Unfortunately the Rapture Righties are making Israel their cause celebre and idiots like Joe Lieberman associating with these nutwads and all the other Jewish Neocons who put Israel before the USA are causing these problems. When people get angry is isn’t antisemetic it is ANGER. Just like fundamentalist Christians don’t speak for all Christians and fundie Muslims don’t speak for all Muslims these right wing Jews don’t speak for all Jews. I don’t doubt that in the end McNasty was trying to offend you personally. But you don’t speak for all Jews. You can be offended and you can state that. But you must have posted 50x yesterday, first voicing your outrage at being offended, then offending women, then apologizing for that, then demanding that your apology is accepted, then back to the hurt feelings over the initial offence. IMO you’re nuts. The fact that you’re Jewish is irrelevant… you’re just nuts. You need to give it a rest. You’re looking to be offended. Most would read the posts by McNasty, state that you didn’t appreciate them, and move on. Not you, you need to fight over it for 5 frickin’ hours. That is the definition of crazy.
