Limbaugh calls female MSNBC anchor ‘wifey’ and ‘whiney.’

On MSNBC’s Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough had on right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh to “talk about the Republican field.” But Limbaugh quickly interjected and said he first had a comment about CNBC business analyst Erin Burnett: “I just heard Erin Burnett sounding a little wifey.” Scarborough laughed and asked Burnett, “What do you think about Rush saying you’re a little wifey today?” “Wifey today he said?” Burnett asked, confused. “Well you were whining,” Rush explained. Watch it:

Limbaugh proceeded to gush over Burnett, stating that she is “fabulous on economics.” “I’m not sucking up here. I’m giving you an honest professional assessment,” Limbaugh said.

Digg It!

    Another stalker to Burnett’s list…

  2. PatrioticLiberalChristian says:

And Rush, the serial husband, really knows about “wifey” matters.

  3. Menehune says:

Honestly, who cares? It’s just one corporate sock puppet talking about another.

  4. Frosty Cupcake says:

Is Limbaugh another one with multiple wives?

  5. missmolly says:

I’m glad Rush had something nice to say about Burnett (he rarely has anything nice to say about anyone), but why would he have to temper that with negative stereotypical remarks? What would he have said if Burnett had been male?

Another observation: Rush rarely leaves the security of his broadcast booth where he has complete control of his environment. Yet recently, he’s been willing to go on the shows of others. What’s going on here?

  6. theswan says:

Right away I take exception of rush blessing himself as “honest and professional”. Just a talking head, and that ain’t much.

She’s sounding a little wifey, he’s sounding a little high.

Non-Story. We have to stop pointing out every stupid thing this guys says. It was obvious that he was just joking around and she didn’t seem to take it to heart so why should we? Does he belong on the air? NO! But lets only point out the truly ridiculous things he says…

Going on Joe’s show and on Faux NoNooz, isn’t exactly going into the enemy camp, is it? But, to your point, at least he is SOMEWHERE other than behind his own force shield.

  10. DaveRywall says:

    WTF – this isn’t news.

I hate Rush as much as anybody else, but come on, this is petty and pointless.

    Get it off the site.

No — he would NEVER go into “enemy” territory. He’s way too cowardly for that. The trolls that post here show more guts.

But to venture out into daylight at all…

I got same feel when I read this person saying “I’m giving you an honest professional assessment”

Sorry, but Erin’s hot. That is not a sexist comment. That is just a fact. She also is one of the few people who present economics in a way that I, as an average American, find engaging and informative.

Rush had nothing bad to say about her cause she’s not really a person you CAN smear..

YES this is a non-story, but gosh, she is cute!!

  29. VerbalKint says:

Rush’s equating “wifey” with “whining” is patently sexist, and coming from Rush smacks more than a little of misogyny. Add to that the fact that he has been married three or four times, and I think it is a story. But there sure is a rush of people here trying to persuade us that it isn’t a story.

  41. Jason M. Hendler says:

Honestly, the worst part of Limbaugh’s radio shows for me are when he interacts with female callers that are gushing over him. It’s clear that he is, at best, self conscious around women, and at worst, insecure. On the one hand, it makes him human and relatable, but on the other hand, (as in Shrek the Third or Spider-man 3), no one wants to see the vulnerable / weak side of their heroes.

    Agree.
Limbaugh is a fat, obsolete and raucous sack-o-sh*t. What spews from his oxycontin hole is nothing but drivel.

Our elected officials are likely to rubber stamp cheney & chump’s request to spend the equivalent of $400 million a day on his failed invasion of iraq.
    $400 MILLION A DAY!!!!!!
    Now that’s news!

  48. PatrioticLiberalChristian says:

“I’m not sucking up here. ” Limbaugh said.

Should read: “I’m just sucking here like I do everywhere.”

Until Limbaugh either has no audience or puts down the microphone, it is imperative that we progressives take him on forcefully and often. To not do so, gives truth to the conservative charge that we don’t defend ourselves and, therefore, can’t be trusted to defend the country. Further, we must counter his distortions with the truth, not 1 truth for every one of his untruths, but by a 100 to 1 ratio.

  49. Jason M. Hendler says:

    #49, PLC,

I encourage you and your ilk to take on all conservatives “forcefully and often”, because in that role, you are playing the vaccine. None of you are actually strong enough to kill conservativism, and by pounding conservatives, you make them stronger.

The Republican debate was fantastic Sunday night, because they vigorously challenged each other, and they each stood up to their own criticisms. I am very excited about their prospects against such damaged goods as Hill’reh.

Personally, I feel conservatives had been coasting since 1994, and with the slow decline to wimps like Frist and Hastert, had lost their ability to scrap and fight. The loss in 2006 allowed Reps to retool with ferocious leaders like Mitch McConnell and Trent Lott in the Senate and Boehner and Blunt in the House – those are the conservative men that I want to see in the leadership.

Again, I strongly desire that you and yours keep hitting conservatives, so that they NEVER forget who and what you are, and show no mercy when presented with an opportunity to deliver a killing stroke.

That’s pretty obvious since the news has come out that those blue pills can cause sudden hearing loss.

I suspect Erin Burnett is afraid to actually visit 30 Rock since Scarborough’s coworkers have a way of ending up dead.

  57. PrahaPartizan says:

Limbaugh went after Erin Burnett??? I watched that little tart on Tweety’s program on Sunday and just about lost breakfast listening to her spout right-wing talking points. She’s a total tool of the oligarchs, as her background attests. Limbaugh’s inability to respond to her schtick says everything anyone needs to know about his ability to withstand any sort of challenge to his own personal beliefs.

Can we all just finally agree that Rush should never be allowed within 500 miles of a television production? Including as a call-in guest? Because he is just flop-sweat awful every single time.

“A little wifey?” Is that supposed to endear him to her? Is she starting to realize yet the downside of playing in the conservative’s yard?

Rush coined the term “femi-nazi” so it should be expected that the misogynist would so quickly insult a woman.
He equates wifey with whiney because he believes he is a superior gender. Most of the people who think like him have not progressed much beyond the Neanderthal.

“A lot of people like to say, scaremonger about China, right? A lot of politicians and I know you talk about that issue all the time. I think people should be careful what they wish for on China — you know, if China were to revalue its currency, or China is to start making, say, toys that don’t have lead in them, or food that isn’t poisonous, their costs of production are going to go up. And that means prices at Walmart, here in the United States, are going to go up too. So, I would say China is our greatest friend right now. They’re keeping prices low, and they’re keeping prices for mortgages low too.”

    >and he can auction it off for charity.

yeah its crazy the things dead people pay for, huh? some old lady trying to impress rush uses 2 million dollars of her dead husbands trust fund to buy a piece of paper and give rush a 2 million dollar tax deduction. im sure the dead guy is very pleased with his purchase…

  68. liberal-31 says:

It would figure that Rush would gush over Erin Burnett. They are both rightwing nut jobs. She said on CNBC that it would be a good idea to let China continue manufacturing toys with lead paint in them and produce food with poison in it because it keeps prices low at Wal-Mart! I think she said this stupid, cruel thing the time that Chris Mathews leered at her and told her to get closer to the camera. Ick. I don’t see what these guys are making a big deal of. She’s indistinguishable from all the other pretty faces on cable news.

Joe is probably one of the few conservatives that I can stand and seems to have moments of clarity. Last July, when Katherine Harris tried to smear Joe with the “dead intern” card, the Miami Herald covered the story and interviewed Lori Klausutis’ family members and they said they agreed with the official findings and that there was no foul play. Usually in these types of situations, if there is wrong-doing, the family would be pointing fingers at Joe and threatening to sue him or would use the media spotlight to get the case re-opened. This is all really tin foil hat stuff you find on the internet. Google “Clinton Body Count” and you will find sites that Hillary Clinton had an affair with Vince Foster and killed him. Then Bill and Hillary “killed” Ron Brown and about 100 other people, including an intern at Starbucks!

  69. basher72 says:

Rush doesn’t like girls… otherwise, I would think these two would be perfect for each other.

  70. Chocolate Jesus says:

    >This is all really tin foil hat stuff you find on the internet.

Your an idiot.. a perfectly healthy woman, 30 years old, drops dead in scarborough’s office a few days after he resigns for no reason, and the coroner, who was removed from office for lying in another case, admits he didnt mention her head trauma because he “didnt want 40 questions about a head wound”….

sounds pretty suspicious to me… you have any other reason for saying its “tinfoil hat” stuff other than the brilliant logic of “the family didnt want it pursued therefore it must not be murder”? maybe they were intimidated. maybe they were worried about the same think happening to other members of their family?
