House administrator subpoenaed in Doolittle probe.

Yesterday, Daniel P. Beard, the chief administrative officer of the House of Representatives, received a subpoena “for e-mails related to the ongoing criminal investigation of Rep. John Doolittle (R-CA).” “Doolittle and six members of his staff were subpoenaed by the same grand jury last month.” Notification of Beard’s subpoena was read on the House floor yesterday. Watch it:

According to the Politico, “Doolittle’s office directed questions about the most recent subpoena to his lawyer, David G. Barger,” who “could not immediately be reached for comment.”

This criminal investigation is taking precious resources away from the GOP. They should just jettison the Doolittle guy and move on.

He wont resign. I like his stupidity. I enjoy watching evil goopers twist in the wind.
    Sorry, can’t help it.

What will the effect of this be, now that the precedent for ignoring subpoenas has been set?

I gotta say, i find this stunning, and they’ve been letting them get away w/ it for a couple of years now.

The GOP – just one big, happy, crime family!

If the White House e-mails are public records, then Congressional e-mails should be, too. I assume that the subpoena will be complied with right away.

And if this grand jury will take care of Doolittle, then perhaps the House can devote their time and attention to something else.

If Doolittle is indicted by the grand jury, will he be required to resign? Or was that rule put in place by the Republican majority rescinded when Tom DeLay got into trouble?

Wow. I couldn’t agree more. Thank you.

Just a WAG (wild ass guess)
They will find a 17 minute gap in the E-mail tape back-up again.

  10. Proud American Liberal says:

I wish they would wrap this guy up and move on to Rep. Jerry Lewis. He needs to go down.

  11. natisman says:

Doolittle is as big as Jerry Lewis. I think he has been in office longer than Lewis and been taking from the same source and others as well. when Abroniff lets go then Doolittle will do some time.
