Reporting Trolls for abuse is working!

And MANY thanks to you, troll buster! The amount of troll dung is down. Please keep up the good work.

On topic:

I'm using the recommendation George Lakoff of The Rockridge Institute and framing my descriptions of the two White House shills as REPUBLICAN Brit Hume and REPUBLICAN William Kristol.

I would LIKE to frame my descriptions of them both as Media Putzes as well, but REPUBLICAN Hume hasn't been awarded the "honor" yet. REPUBLICAN Kristol (http://mediaputz.com/07/07/putz0719.html) HAS!

Fox’s Hawks Brit Hume and the Weekly Standard’s William Kristol are once again ratteling sabers to attack Iran. I find it quite disturbing that most of the Hawks calling for another disastours Preventitive War just like Iraq are actually Chicken-Hawks.

They have never been to war or even served in the armed forces. Just like those idiots Limbaugh and O’reilly who Cheneyed out of service to this country when we where at war in Vietnam. Actually Limbaugh couldn’t even Cheney out because he flunked out of college but got a 4F rating because he had a pimple on his ass.

It is time to put these Chicken-Hawks in their place. War with Iran would be a disaster and would weaken this country militaraly and politiclly for years to come all while they collect heafty salries and send others off to die in a useless neo-convict adventure.

"The inability to find common ground then precipitates unilateral actions by the U.S. and sets the stage for military confrontation."

Common ground is ruled out by definition by the type of thinking dominant in the US and Israel.

The third rail of US/Israel relations is our shared mythology. We believe in an absolute other that was created to serve us in our effort to impress an absentee-landlord god/king. The way we have treated Indians and Africans and Arabs and Palestinians, respectively, is no aberration. That's what we do.

One day, a Sumerian god came up with the idea of creating a servant race. This underclass would do all the labor, then give all thanks, praise, and riches, to the gods. On another day, Zoroaster came up with the idea of life as holy war to restore a purported golden age. I see these as expressions on the mythological level of our psychophysiology.

We still believe in life as holy war. We believe in a Golden Age, a Fall, an absolutely Other corrupting influence, and a perfectly binary cosmos: you're with us, or against us. You have two choices: fight the good fight, or go to hell, along the way to which we will gladly help you. You've seen the Wm Dafoe/Wynona Ryder version of Miller's _The Crucible_, I presume? We're all composites of good and evil. That's why they won't even conceive of finding common ground: to do so alloys their precious selves with "ee-vil." And this drives those who can't sidestep their binary minds absolutely insane.

Left and Right share these basic assumptions. Even on liberal blogs, if you're not shouting "hooray for our side" loudly enough, you're suspect.

[Side A] --- [Side B]
[Good God Us Me] --- [Evil Devil Them You]

Even a monkey can see that there are things spelled out on either sides of a lines. But do you see the indivisible field around those things? The field in which we find our common ground? That indivisible field is We, the People (if you'll pardon my grammar).

We stand united in divinity just exactly as these words right here are standing in this field right now. E pluribus, unum: Out of Many, Union. We find our common ground in the spaces in between.

But binary thinking doesn't even imagine common ground, let alone see it. You can forget about finding common ground with people who believe a "black or white, evil vs. good" kind of world.

Our psychophysiology and our mythology impose and exaggerate divisions in an essentially indivisible field. What Newton regarded as 'things' we now know are events. And the energy of one event flows freely in and out of all of its neighbors. The glass, therefore, is neither half full nor half empty: it is BOTH, it is self-filling and self-emptying.

Christians in general, especially our dearly beloved Evangelicals, believe in the exclusive sanctity of the Jews and, by extension, themselves. All Others can go to hell. No, make that WILL go to hell, and look how good we are at sending them there!

One needs only count the dead in Iraq on any given day, and ratio that with the living Iraqis allowed into our benighted land, to put the lie to our denial of practicing human sacrifice.

We believe in an absolute Away, in which things like human & radioactive waste and political malfeasance disappear when we make then go 'away.' We are shocked when our self-proclaimed demi-godlike efforts not to kill real people, just to collaterally damage things, end up with such horrific results.

This is unbalanced. This is koyaaniqatsi. This is our mythology. It's no accident or disease or any such thing. This is what we do.

It's a result of binary thinking. It's our brains playing tricks on our minds. Our belief in an absolute Other, our shared belief with Israel in our unique relationship with that Other as our creator god, and our shared assumption of atomized egos ruled by Newtonian mechanics in absolutely empty space, these have spawned the Frankenstein's monster that now chases us as a global juggernaut.

We're burning the black blood of Mother Earth to fuel a monstrous mechanical juggernaut we've sent as our proxy into the fields of our lord in an effort to make ourselves over in the image of the god we made. The fumes from it promise to choke us to death. It crushes and grinds whole peoples under its wheels.

Binary thinking says: 'C'mon, if our victims weren't in the Holy Land, whether that be Rachel Corrie in Israel or the Nez Perce at Wounded Knee, then they wouldn't get crushed under our Caterpillar tractor treads or gunned down en masse, now would they? They shouldn't have been in front of our Gatling guns. It's their fault for being,' according to binary thinking.

Binary thinking is powering the juggernaut that chases us. Thing is, you don't outrun juggernauts, eg., we won't find a scientific, technological solution to global warming. There's one simple solution to the existential threat posed by this planetary juggernaut.

You don't outrun juggernauts. You _sidestep_ them! We must reject the mechanical model of the cosmos. We must bring to fruition a new, organic mythology (which won't be anything new to the First Peoples, now will it?) and midwife ourselves in giving birth to a new civilization, at the same time that we sidestep the mechanical monster we're riding as it crashes to the ground.

The single most important factor in the US/Israel problem is our shared belief in our unique sanctity: we think we and the Jews alone are holy.

God bless America! On to the Holy Land! Death to the Infidels! Blame Canada!

As usual Brit and that chicken hawn Kristal are trumpeting war but never served a day not to mention one hour in a real uniform. These idiots sit around in their big air conditioned offices and figure out these stupid positions, while knowing full well they aren't going to get any blood on their 1500 dollar suit. If they did, they'd piss on on themselves. But I will admit I advocated attacking Iran years ago, before we invaded Iraq. The reason for my op-ed was I felt Iran was the real threat, and not Sadam.

Unlike Sadam who may have believed he had nuclear weapons, Iran is trying to obtain them. But attacking them when our troops are bogged down in Iraq is not a smart move at all and I'll tell you why. First of all, Iran could attack our troops in Iraq by ground and with missles unless we take all of them out. They also could attack Israel and start a war across the entire Middle East. Then the WWIII Bush mentioned could come true. What Brit and that weasel don't understand is, Russia may be drawn into such a conflict on the other side.

Then we are talking about the end of civilization as we know it. Because If Israel were to use a tactical Nuke against Iran, then Russia may take it as an all out attack and become involved before we could get things calmed down. And with the record of this administration which like to shot first and ask no questions later, can they afford to sit by and do nothing. For one, Putin doesn't want to look weak to his countrymen and one miscalculation is all it takes when nuclear weapons are involved. After all you can't call them back once they are fired. There are also so trigger happy people in Pakistan who have access to nuclear weapons who might decide to use them on India, which would prompt them to strike back at Pakistan.

So you see my friends there are all sorts of unintended things that "can and will go wrong" in the words of Fred Thompson in the roll of a navy Admiral in the movie "The hunt for Red October". So it may be poetic justice that all of these things could come to pass if we don't stop listening to fools like Brit Hume and Bill Crybaby Kristal.

Good heavens, Bill Kristol is smug. Especially for someone who has been consistently and demonstrably wrong about every major foreign policy issue in the past 20 years.

Comment by Jim — October 29, 2007 @ 3:27 am

Bill Kristol is smug because he knows he doesn't HAVE to be right. He has a cult-like base who hangs on every word he says because it plays to bigotry, a false sense of superiority, and testosterone that needs some kind of outlet.

As long as Kristol is able to tell his base what they want to hear, he's got a job. I doubt his fan club really cares about whether Kristol's ravings are ever proven to have any substance.

Brit Hume is employing typical playground rhetoric -- attempt to discredit another by ridiculing him for refusing to do something absolutely stupid, like lick a frozen flagpole.

It's a sign of maturity to refuse to meet the challenge of stupidity, and just shrug off the taunting and the "triple dog dares." Bombing Iran is like licking a frozen flagpole. Just like invading Iraq was.

We need to have better reasons to invade other countries than playground taunts from the bullies.

We need to have better reasons to invade other countries than playground taunts from the bullies.

Good heavens, Bill Kristol is smug. Especially for someone who has been consistently and demonstrably wrong about every major foreign policy issue in the past 20 years.

William Kristol, a Zionist war monger.
Perhaps if Israel disarmed its nuclear arsenal, the one they developed in spite of John Kennedy's demands to the contrary, the one at Dimona, the one they've denied the existence of for decades and for which they threw one of their technicians into solitary confinement for YEARS for revealing the existence of, maybe then we might not be seeing an arms race in the Middle East (if, in fact, that is what we are seeing at all!)
But Kristol is most disgusting in his ill-concealed glee at the prospect of more dead Arabs. He can hardly contain himself he is so drunk with power.

- Protects Israel from a potential nuclear holocaust. President Ahmadinejad has stated that Israel will be wiped off the map

This has been proven to be a lie. The translation is referring to the government of Israel. And we are preventing a nuclear holocaust 10 years from now? It is more likely that Israel will drop one on Iran than it is that Iran will drop one on Israel. How many countries has Iran invaded lately? Now, how many has Israel?

- Reduces the risk to the West of a “dirty” bomb in big cities. Iran is a sponsor of terrorist groups such as Hezbollah

We are in danger of this happening much more from Pakistan than from Iran. And Pakistan has the ability TODAY! Don't hear any saber rattling about Pakistan, though.

- Forestalls the development of Iranian long-range nuclear missiles aimed at Europe and America

If in fact that Iran is interested in long rage nuclear missiles. And, again, this is maybe 10 years in the future, not tomorrow!

- Prevents Iran from intimidating or attacking its Sunni Arab neighbours

Oh really? I don't see Iran intimidating or attacking it's Sunni Arab neighbors. I do see Turkey intimidating and attacking the Kurds and I have seen Israel intimidating and attacking the Palestinians. Haven't seen anyone threaten to attack either of those countries for their aggressive actions, though.

- Creates the space for potential regime change and installation of a pro-western government in Tehran

Who in the hell do we think we are deciding who can and cannot run an independent country. What you are talking about is the occupation of Iran the way we are occupying Iraq. Then we can "install" our own government.

Potential arguments against:

Do we really want to start World War III. Do we really want to piss off Russia and China (who virtually owns us these days)?

There is no reason to threaten Iran. And the only reason why Bush is not conducting diplomacy is because he is afraid that it will work and the situation will be diffused. Then what will he have to be the Decider Guy about?

The real Art of Peace is not to sacrifice a single one of your warriors to defeat an enemy. Vanquish your foes by always keeping yourself in a safe and unassailable position; then no one will suffer any loses. The Way of a Warrior, the Art of Politics, is to stop trouble before it starts. It consists in defeating your adversaries spiritually by making them realize the folly of their actions. The Way of a Warrior is to establish harmony. -Morihei Ueshiba, The Art Of Peace

Brit Hume is a total joke as a "news anchor" at Fox "News".
Can you imagine a news anchor at any respectable news network behaving in such a blatantly partisan manner as Hume?
He's nothing but a political prostitute and should drop the "anchor" moniker. He's more aptly labeled a "Republican operative posing as a news man".

Creating multiple "CHERNOBYL'S" in Iran is a good thing?

Essentially, bombing ANY Nuclear plant with bunker busters would produce the very same effect that Chernobyl had. LONG TERM - SLOW DEATH TO MILLIONS!
