President Reagan’s principles created the greatest expansion of wealth and prosperity ever seen in the United States to this day, and he knew that taxing the public into submission was not the answer.

No. See here too for more of the "big picture". And here. And here.

Amazingly enough, the Republican foamer brigade, while claiming to be enamoured of "economic growth", ignore the number that show that Democrats are better at this than Republicans ... abd don't vote Democratic even as it is in their own best interests to do so....

40 years after President Johnson’s massive “Great Society” welfare expansion, liberals are still complaining about wealth being concentrated in a few hands....

... when in fact the objective evidence is showing that this is happening to even a greater and greater extent.

That wouldn't have anything to do with capital gains being taxed at a lower rate than actual income gained by doing actual honest work, would it?

@72 O. Bigfoot:

They staged the questions, they staged the answers. Sounds like a live action press release, or the FAQ section of a website. There were no health threats involved, and no crime was commited, despite what some liberal “trolls” would suggest. Basically, they were trying to fight fires and provide for displaced people. Any kind of press conference takes away from that. Just take a look at Governor Schwarzenegger’s masterful handling of the media for further information.

Mountains out of mole hills.

Mr. BigFootInMouth loves him some propaganda and FauxSnooze. Relieves him of the responsibility of thinking to have someone do it for him and hand out the pabulum predigested. "Look at what we say, don't ask what we do...."

Now what about the Clintons’ fake “town hall meetings” with plants asking soft-ball questions. Where is your outrage about that?

Be a dear, and put up at least one link to prove your allegation.
No wingnut news or websites, of course.

Zooey, you know that Republican wingnuts never source their factoids. Here are a couple of links for you.

UPDATE:

FEMA public affairs official not taking national intelligence PR job

From Jeanne Meserve
CNN Washington Bureau

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The man who oversaw public affairs at the Federal Emergency Management Agency when it held a fake news conference last week will no longer be taking over as head of public relations for the director of national intelligence.

Pat Philbin won't be taking over as head of public relations for the director of national intelligence.

Pat Philbin, FEMA's external affairs director, was scheduled to become director of public affairs for National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell on Monday. It was not immediately clear whether he offered his resignation or was fired just as he was set to begin the job.

As of Sunday, officials only said that they were aware of concerns.

But Monday, the director of national intelligence office issued this statement: "We do not normally comment on personnel matters. However, we can confirm that Mr. Philbin is not, nor is he scheduled to be, the director of public affairs for the office of the director of national intelligence."

TO THE TROLLS - CLINTON'S TOWN HALL MEETINGS

1. No one would condone the planting of questions at a town hall meeting or news conference. That would include those softballs that come at WH briefings from former gay prostitutes as well as Clinton.

2. There is certainly a difference between a planted question at a WH press briefing or a town hall meeting. You seem to be equating a planted question or two with an entirely fake event. The first should not be condoned, the second just goes beyond the pale.

3. I would also like to see the source for the allegations against Clinton. You see there were a lot of BS stories out there alleging that the Clintons murdered people, committed fraud on land deals and imported drugs. Ken Starr, a very partisan Republican operative, did indeed investigate the allegations and could find no evidence to support them. So, I tend to take these allegations with a grain of salt.

That’s a fair point, Keitol. I’ll go along with that.

I think in this case the rule applies however, as the troll in question was not commenting on Senator Clinton, merely using the family name as a distraction.

Fair enough. I'd love to never mention the name again, trust me. Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton. 1988-2016, almost 3 decades. We continue to ape the Romans more and more...

Yeah, except I never said that either.

Bill did though, remember his statement that if he was elected the American people would get two for the price of one? Bill Clinton an insane wingnut - who'd have thunk it?!

Were it not for the fact that Hillary is quite likely going to be the next President, I’d agree with this law. The Clintons are not safely in the past any longer.

Oh, fiddle, I never said lets blame everything on Hillary, Shayne. I just said the refutation of the “but Clinton” argument would carry more weight if the Clintons were out of politics. They are not, not even close.

It all has to do with context. If the context is Hillary Clinton and her Senate duties or her presidential aspirations, then yes it would be appropriate. If the "clinton did it too" tag is thrown just for distraction, then it should be treated with derision. TP bloggers are smart enough to know the difference.

Because there’s a chance that Hillary may be the President in 2009, let’s blame everything that’s happened the last 7 years on her. The mind of a troll is truly an enigma, wrapped in mystery, shrouded in delusion.

Philbin is NOT getting the new position after his fiasco at FEMA.

Good to hear! Well done, us!

Comment by toasterhead — October 29, 2007 @ 1:40 pm

DO WE HAVE A DEFINITIVE FINDING RE THIS STATEMENT?

Frankly, there would be no surprise should Philbin actually get the position. After all, it would represent more authority and greater status which is the usual reward for a loyal Bushie. If he lost the position, one would have to assume that it was only because of the publicity when the new position became common knowledge. Was that not a Friday news release?

Philbin was actually well qualified for the position. This seems to be a case where an otherwise good guy went bad because of the poor example provided by the Bush administration

OMG, our resident troll is claiming that Clinton is filling her town hall meetings with "plants" -- I can hardly type, I am laughing so hard at the absurdity of his comment.
Democrats always encounter hecklers at their public appearances (Clinton Obama, Edwards, Kerry have all experienced it) - it is a Republican tactic (perfected by Karl Rove for Bush) that friendly audiences only are invited, vetted and granted permission to attend appearances. How many times have we seen GW set up by a "plant" in the audience? (Not that he doesn't proceed to make a public fool of himself despite the aid.)
Recall the set up of the six soldiers a year or two ago - where the questions from soldiers in the field were scripted and rehearsed.
