Rep. LaTourette pressured paper to fire blogger.»

The Cleveland Plain Dealer yesterday fired blogger YellowDogSammy, who contributed to the paper’s group politics blog Wide Open. The measure came after Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-OH) complained to the paper’s editorial page editor that Sammy had contributed $100 to his opponent’s campaign. The paper let Sammy go after he refused to never again write about LaTourette. YellowDogSammy has more on how the Plain Dealer is selectively targeting him HERE.

Ask them to apply their standards consistently by firing the other bloggers who have donated to political campaigns, or re-hire YellowDogSammy.

    More blue ink for Ohio.

Some little troll is going to get in trouble for namejacking.

7, read the comments. He identifies himself by name in it.

Is there a reason why TP doesn’t cover democrat debates? All the MSM outlets are swirling around Hill’reh’s poor performance last night, so why no discussion here?

Hats off to Tim Russert, who is second only to Chris Wallace at hard hitting debate questions.

  7. Shayne Says:

Hillbilly, you just outed yourself as the namejacking CT we’ve all hated for so long. This sniveling little coward, you know the one who fakes being deaf to not enlist in the war is namejacking me. He now pretends to be on the west coast but he’s the same little Appalachian namejacking hillbilly he ever was. Please report him for namejacking.

  8. Frosty Cupcake Says:

How could this be since the all powerful liberal wing of the all powerful democratic party controls the media?

  9. Wilco Says:

The PD is fairly bipartisan, at least in its op-ed pages, and leans a little left, in my opinion.
    It’s not a bad rag.

    Shayne,
I’ve reported abuse on 2 threads already in regard to your name.

Hell, you’ve even got TCD agreeing with you!

You’d think it was Halloween or something…

I’m offline for a week, come back and one thread has someone accusing Zooey of being a troll and now this thread has a shayne “lookalike”? What the hell is going on around here?

  12. Wilco Says:

TCDon, There’s always plenty of content in the PD. As far as the oped pages, it depends on the day, it seems. Often they swing wide right.

  13. Shayne Says:

Thanks Zimzone, I think I must have gotten to Billy Hill today. The child only has a few ways to act out, sadly.

Indeed. They fired Ed Schultz in the Fargo area, even though he had the #1 show in the region. They stripped local stations of resources while piling up cash in Texas. (Sound familiar?) When done raping the station, they sold it for 30 cents on the dollar.

You can bet Clear Channel is behind this new move to allow media owners both radio & TV in the same city…they’ll probably want ‘retroactive immunity’ for past sins, as well. And they’ll get it…

I’ve tried listening to Liberal talk shows on XM, but the only one I have found to be listenable is Lionel. I don’t agree with his views, but he is very bright and articulate. The Conservative talk show hosts, especially Hannity, Limbaugh and Schnitt IMO are much better at what they do. Air America needs better talent if it is going to survive.

OMG, those wingnut rightie hacks? Listening to them is like nails on an chalkboard if you have half a brain! That explains your attraction though! Tell me, how many clients did you cheat by billing them for the time you’re posting here! Better hope the bar doesn’t find out, you’d be disbarred! Oh wait, that assumes you’re actually a practicing lawyer - a BIG assumption!

*** Yeah it really takes alot of talent & intellect to say “let’s go Bomb Iran” or smear & distort the situation of an 11yrs old & 2 yrs old whose parents support SCHIP.You may be right, they(Repukes) know how to LIE very good.

  19. Doc Rock Says:

There’s plenty rotten in Ohio! Don’t expect the Plain Dealer to ferret it out.

They are superb at what they do, which is to lie, smear and divide. That’s why their listeners are idiots and morons.
