My youngest is a 14 YO boy and he, like your daughter, has good political acumen. Connor tunes into Mike Malloy at bedtime. When he graduated 8th grade last year, a copy of the Declaraction, Consititution and Bill of Rights was included in his “diploma”. He read them during summer vacation and included them in the list of his “summer reading” when entering high school. He’s usually with me when I “do my thing” and he can hold his own in a political discussion. I’m proud of him. I’ll continue to write and call my Senators and Dishonorable Representative. I still get mail from Menendez and Lautenberg, but Garrett took me off his mailing list long ago and never responds to my letters anymore. I do contribute blog entries to Garrett’s opponents for the 2008 election though and will continue that…

Hang tough StratRat (and TPers, etal)! Our kids and their kids need to know we cared.

The pumpkin idea was brilliant! I am proud of you. Please keep fighting and I will too. I still believe that if a million emails or letters showed up at the WH doorstep or the steps of the capital EVERYDAY, our voices would be heard. I say lets all here at TP, pledge to write one letter each to our state reps and senators, and one letter to the WH every week. Thats not very difficult and it does work. Phone calls would be good also.

My daughter is only 14 and she is very tuned into the political world. She understands certain things are “in the Constitution”, and she knows legislation cannot defeat an amendment contained in that document. She also understands habeus, spying, tortue, and secrecy. She knows changes have occured and congress just doesn’t seem to care. I am proud of her wanting to know what is happening and why. I hope she will be a good citizen who understands how authoritarians work. God bless :)

What you and your ilk are doing, Beefeater, is trying to attack the argument that Mukasey isn’t the right choice by attacking the character of Senator Kennedy. And the only thing you have is this thing you’re obsessed with, a drunk driving wreck that happened back in 1969, a good 4 years before I was born. The crime was investigated, charges were brought, the verdict was returned and punishment was dealt long before I was a glimmer in my father’s eye. This not only makes your attack an argumentum ad hominem, it also makes it a stupid ad hominem.

Beefeater? If you can’t attack the person’s position and you have to resort to attacking the person himself, you’ve already lost the argument.

he’s just trying to get you to do your duty, HATER, but we all know you haven’t the courage or the patriotism to actually do anything about the Islamist Menace. When we destroy your party and bury its corpse next year, TP will be the place where we celebrate. You can slink back into your corner and cry away, or you can join up and head to the desert, where you will probably get fragged for your cowardly ineptitude. What to say about a poster like Beefeater? We threw our own officers in jail for it in 1902, we gave Nazis life in prison for it in 1945, we executed members of the Japanese military for it in 1946 and in 2007, the typical sociopathic Bush cultist thinks it’s funny. That says more about Bush’s supporters than anything else.
