WH distances itself from Rumsfeld’s comments on Muslims.

The Washington Post reports that as Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld complained that oil wealth has detached Muslims “from the reality of the work, effort and investment…Too often Muslims are against physical labor, so they bring in Koreans and Pakistanis while their young people remain unemployed.” Today, White House Press Secretary said President Bush disagrees:

QUESTION: I asked you about the memos that are published in The Post from Donald Rumsfeld and his quote that oil wealth has made Muslims averse to physical labor.

PERINO: That is not — I went back and looked, and that is not at all in line with the president’s views.

  2. texaslady says:

Boy poor Dana seems to be distancing the WH everyday on some issue. No wonder the WH goes through the PR people very quickly.

  3. texaslady says:

Hey, have any reporters asked Dana why Chalabi is Betrayus’s BFF now ?

  4. Leftside Annie says:

How can you tell Dana Perino is lying?

It’s the worst when all these gall-derned islamic types start expecting us to pay them WELFARE! Vote for Rudy, and he’ll stop the liberal push for worldwide welfare for Muslims! Get a job, Osama! Rabble Rabble!

  6. thelonegunman says:

no, that’s not the views of Bush, he thinks they should all be killed and their oil given to him and his cronies.

that’s what Bush thinks of Muslims.

  7. toasterhead says:

Well, can you blame him? The only Muslims that Rummy associates with are billionaire Gulf Arab cronies of the Bush and Bath cabal. To them, work is having to do their own defecations.

  8. PatrioticLiberalChristian says:

Of course it’s not “in line with the President’s view”! This President’s view is entirely on himself.

  9. robbez_92107 says:

But she had to go back and look and make sure it wasn’t his opinion. Too funny!

  10. JosephW says:

Maybe Rummy forgot that his Pakistani buddies are mostly Muslim as well.
Of course, one could replace “Muslim” with “Bush-Cheney cronies” in the comment and not be far off.
Exactly how much physical labor have the Bush twins been involved with in their lives? For that matter, how much physical labor have Bush and Cheney performed in their entire lives?
And, as an aside to Dana, this really wasn’t a comment that you should have needed to go back and look in order to respond. This was a situation where, even if you had to lie (not like you need any prompting in that department), you should have simply said, “The President disagrees/disagreed with that statement” when the reporter asked. The fact that you “went back and looked” to find out speaks volumes to how little you know about your boss. Hell, why not just produce the documents that you “went back and looked” to confirm Dubya’s views?

  11. Shayne says:

Dana, you went back and looked at WHAT exactly to come up with your answer?

  12. toasterhead says:

Also – Korea? Korea doesn’t crack the top twenty in terms of migration sending states to the Persian Gulf. Maybe in 1975, but today Koreans don’t have much of a problem finding work at home. Mainly it’s Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, and Jordan sending labor to the Gulf.

Not that I expect Donald Rumsfeld to have a clue what he’s talking about. He hasn’t needed one so far and there’s no point in him getting one now. But still!

  13. Mr. Sifter says:

I found This revelation more troubling.

In one of his longer ruminations, in May 2004, Rumsfeld considered whether to redefine the terrorism fight as a “worldwide insurgency.” The goal of the enemy, he wrote, is to “end the state system, using terrorism, to drive the non-radicals from the world.” He then advised aides “to test what the results could be” if the war on terrorism were renamed.

In his mind the ends justified the means, but the effect of an irrationally terrified population is worse then the consequences of not achieving his military ends, which won’t be achieved anyways.

Poor Dana…poor, poor Dana! She doesn’t have the first “clue” about anything and is being hung out to dry by the neocons daily.

She can’t finesse herself out of a paper bag with one way signs on it and insists on making an even larger buffoon of herself each time she takes the stage to overtly “shill” for this demented gang of thugs.

Guess Dana Perino has agreed to be their “moll gal”?

  15. Veritas says:

“worldwide insurgency” would be a convenient little construct of this psychologically demented Rumsfeld. After all, he’s so loathed internationally that he’s like to make an “enemy” out of the entire world. Soon his prophesy will come to fruition – when he stands before a war crimes tribunal before being hauled off to the “big house”. It won’t be long, yeah, yeah, yeah….it won’t be long.

  16. AMcG773 says:

As the saying goes….takes one to know one. Has Rumy ever done any physical labor? Certainly not since he cashed in the bug bucks from Searle.

  17. Veritas says:

Soon schizoid Perino will be doing something simple like turning her head to look behind her to “look into things” while she checks out her own a$$. Yeah, she’s looking into things – this puppet doesn’t even “know that she doesn’t know”. Deer-in-the-headlights Dana is totally clueless.

  18. Buckie Boy says:

“that is not at all in line with the president’s views.”, right, GW666 views them all as “Terrorists” or at least that is what he is wishing his Fascist propaganda machine can fool the public into believing.

It’s all lies and distortion, the government was in on 911 it was their wet dream.

Fascist Neoon Republicans should be banned from government positions.

    Buck Fush

  19. Veritas says:

Rummy’s Recent Ruminations are a result of an idle mind and a downtrodden “ego”. He no longer has an “audience” to mesmerize and control so now he’s doing it from the bully pulpit.

  20. TripMaster Monkey says:

Just when you think the trolls can’t get any dumber, Billy Hill graces us with this gem:

In the work environment most employers frown on the compulsion to ware [SIC] an AK-47 as a neckless [SIC] while undertaking a task.

    I blame the schools.

  21. Lefty Patriot says:

billy is a meth addict. perhaps he should be in rehab for a few years.

  22. Veritas says:

Buckie Boy: As today’s headlines are sure to indict Rudy with his no bid contract to Motorola for defective communication devices on 911, we will see the Neocon “911 wet dream” begin to unravel. Rudy was in it all – he had to be with his “control center” being erected on 9/9. Why do you think they didn’t want “real communication” between first responders on 911?

It could be the same reason why Building 7 came down – the Enron files??

Or it could be the same MO as playing “military games” on 9/10 and 9/11 – so NORAD and the traffic controllers couldn’t tell the real planes from the bogus ones.

It’s all beginning to unravel right before their very eyes. And even if they come through unscathed on the “illegal torture known as waterboarding”, when this is outed, they’ll all either be running for Paraguay in exile or find themselves being fitted for orange jumpsuits.

  23. Lefty Patriot says:

I must say, that is one of billy hill’s most ignorant rants. truly racist and venal, ina hillbilly way. Muslims are far more civilized than billy hill, and he’s proven it.

  24. Dumb_Fox says:

    The Rummy Riddle:

Muslims = averse to hard work

People who will do hard work = Pakistanis

    Pakistanis = Muslims

…And this is who we had planning the Iraq invasion.

  25. Shayne says:

You’re really hard to understand hillbilly. When Muslims carry weapons it’s a bad thing worthy of your ridicule. When backwoods hicks like yourself carry weapons it’s a sign of freedom and manhood. Don’t you ever get tired of being the dullest tack in the box?

  26. Shayne says:

Ya but, I would win a fashion show every time, AR-15’s are so much prettier than those old nansty AK-47’s, mine has the chrome accents (pins, chamber trap door, trigger, charging handle, etc) and a very nice Leupold scope.

    Comment by Billy Hill — November 1, 2007 @ 2:29

Yep when the only thing you’re brave enough to go after with your gun are squirrels that steal the nuts off your tree, you need fancy chrome accents to make yourself feel like a man, don’t you?

  27. Shayne says:

Billy Hill, “Look, look, my guns shinier than your’s.”

You know hillbilly, they make the little blue pill for guys like you who have problems with their manhood.

  28. toasterhead says:

The answer is simple “Muslim fashion” which doesn’t exist, keeps them from the industrial work place as it is very difficult to wear a turban on the top of a hard hat. I am surprised that the Chinese have not solved this problem with a “hard turban hat”.

    Comment by Billy Hill — November 1, 2007 @ 2:07 pm

I have to ask – is it hard to type with a Klu Klux Klan hood on your head? It seems to me that it’d be tough to see the screen.

  29. Shayne says:

Republicans don’t like Muslims because they are against hard labor. And they don’t like Mexicans because they are exceptionally good at hard labor. Quite a dilemma.

  30. TripMaster Monkey says:

    Comment by Billy Hill — November 1, 2007 @ 2:38 pm

Are you still here? If I were you, I would have used that shiny chrome-plated gun of yours to put a bullet in my brain long ago, out of sheer shame.

ya, and that’s all you would win is a fashion show. You’re just proving your cowardice with your gun porn. too bad about your tiny dick, though.

After all your weapon IS a fashion statement!

    Comment by Billy Hill — November 1, 2007 @ 2:38 pm

Please do the planet a favor and turn that AR-15 on yourself.

  33. pete says:

Perfectly understandable since Bush lives at such a great distance from reality. About the only things he thinks are real are Barney, “Anti-Americans” and Jesus. Heck, one out of three is pretty good for a shrub.

  34. TripMaster Monkey says:

    Billy Hill sez:

I know you dont really mean that Trippy

Yes, I do mean that, BH. If I were you, I’d be too ashamed to live. Fortunately for you (and unfortunately for us), you have no shame.

That’s what men like you who are impotent without one tell yourselves. Real men don’t need a gone to make a statement.

  36. Shayne says:

Fancy guns to a man are like jewlery to a woman…….

    Comment by Billy Hill — November 1, 2007 @ 2:46 pm

Really hillbilly? What exactly do you do for your men so they buy you fancy guns?

Sorry hillbilly I’ve known TMM and toasterhead longer than you and I think they both do really mean it. In fact most of us agree with them even if we haven’t said it. So don’t let your concern that they’re just kidding slow you down.

Really, I just blame Billy Hill, because lot’s of others have had bad childhoods and didn’t end up as dumb and hateful as he is.

  40. Tired Of Fighting says:

    Hey Dumsfeld guess what?

There are black, white, asian, hispanic, pacific islander, etc. Muslims all around the world.

When did work become synonomus with a religion. Muslims are followers of Islam not a race,……………………….idiot.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, no time to read all comments, but isn’t Rummy describing Saudi Arabia to a tee? Saudi’s workforce is incredibly dominated by foreigners – sorry no time to get link but I’ve seen this in a National Geographic story.

  42. PatrioticLiberalChristian says:

Billy Hill admitted yesterday on TP that he comes here only for the “entertainment” value. He is an egotistical troll, derailing threads in order to get attention from us. DO NOT FEED Billy Hilly. He’s admitted that’s the only reason he posts here.

And he isn’t unique in that regard. That pretty much sums up all the trolls.

  44. LividLib says:

btw, is that a shock collar she’s wearing around her neck?

  45. Bartolo says:

Could you please show us again the video of her showing us the exits on the airplane?

  46. Ret. Col. Jack Ripper says:

I heard on the radio this morning from a human rights activist in Europe that Rummy had to quickly duck out of a meeting and flee France because he was about to be arrested under a warrant for breaking international law with respect to torture. Does anyone have any information on this? I’ve been predicting for years that members of this administration would eventually get the “Pinochet” treatment and not even be able to visit certain countries without threat of being arrested. This could be the first case.

  47. Jackie says:

No wonder the GOP is so racist with Rummy’s comments and with the other GOP racist comments about African Americans things now make since. Let’s see come election day how the American people well about the criminal racist GOP. No wonder the World Leaders don’t like the Bush Administration. What’s sad is the Churches have been paid off by the White House to spread racism and hate.

I guess Americans have forgotten that African slaves were brought to the New America to work and make it a success. It’s interesting to see how long racist and hate last in our country. Most of Rummys comments so just like the days the US started. To form this new country we need the workers to build and plant our fields. Slaves built the White House for our future Presidents, built the rail roads, picked the cotton and tobacco. The United States grew the the riches country in the World on the backs of others. Yes we do know how to use others like right now we enlist immigrants and release prisoners to fight our wars so our chosen young Americans wont have to protect this country. What’s nice is if the immigrants die in Iraq no problem, if they live we can send them back to their country. As for the prisoners who cares. Now we will have to build this country back to his greatness. We can use the plan that built it the first time. Let’s African American and other minorities go back to the fields and bring back slavery. This time at lease the slaves will be educated enough to understand what they have to do. If they don’t like it there’s always the Bush/Cheney torture plan.

What’s happening to the US is Bin Laden’s dream come true and he was right we didn’t have to be bombed again to get the job done.

  48. JMOHR says:

Would the same comment not apply to the United States? Is that not the reason given to justify the use of illegal immigrants? Big business interests have long justified the imployment of illegal immigrants on the basis that US citizens will just not do certain types of demanding labor. It may have more to do with labor arbitrage so that business may hire labor at a cost that would not normally sustain a US household.
