Bush 41 Gets His News From Fox News; Warns More Bushes May Run For Public Office
Fox News Sunday launched a new series this week called “American Leaders” that seeks to engage “prominent business, cultural and social figures in candid discussion.” The first “leader” featured by Fox was former President George H.W. Bush, who gave the network an exclusive interview at his Presidential Library.
In his interview this morning, the former president returned the praise, saying that when he watches TV news, he watches Fox News:
I used to pick up that paper, and turn on the Fox and listen to the news, and say “listen to this, look at this so-and-so, why’s he saying that?” I don’t do that anymore.
Bush also said that he would like to see another generation of Bushes in public office. “I’ve got a grandson that would make a wonderfully able public servant if he ran, George P.,” said Bush. “And Pierce, Neil’s son. They have an interest in politics.” Watch it:
Bush’s love of Fox News echoes that of Vice President Dick Cheney, who requires that all televisions in his hotel room be tuned to Fox News whenever he travels. In 2004, Cheney also told “a conference call” of “tens of thousands of Republicans” that he ends up “spending a lot of time watching Fox News.”
If the next generation of Bushes were to enter public office, it would likely be more of the same politics put forth by the current president:
- George P. Bush, the son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, has been actively involved in his family’s political fortunes since 1988, when he spoke at the Republican National Convention as a 12 year old. He was also heavily involved in his uncle’s 2000 and 2004 campaigns, working on outreach to the Latino community.
- Pierce Bush, the son of high-priced consultant Neil Bush, worked on his Uncle’s 2004 campaign, telling Larry King that “George W.’s done a great job.” He also shares some of his uncle’s frat boy “folksiness.”
For someone to consider another generation of Bushes in public office a good idea, they’d probably have to be watching nothing but Fox News.

Well, this sounds like fun and games. But considering the Bush money and 41s immense power on the world stage, ANY office would be a stepping stone to higher office.
I’m with chimpeach here. Slap them down and keep them out of politics completely. Let the power and money that got W elected on nothing but his frat boy appeal and a lifetime of failures, die with 41.

I used to like fox (locally in Sacramento), back in the day when they first built their TV station on Fruitridge road, not two blocks from my home at the time. As kids we used to go watch big time wrestling. Pat Patterson. Those were the days. We’d hit the 7-11 grab some soda (used to be made with SUGAR back then) and ride our bikes up to the station.
Now the station looks like a secured area, dry docked submarine with warts, Security fences, locking gates, security cameras, and a plethora of new satellite dishes. I wonder how high the dosage of RF the residents must endure now.
I wish the 4th estate would wake up.
I wish the definition of “journalist” could be restored. Not this horrible war on bloggers and Police Department Credentialed Press Pass / Paid / For Profit / political spin garbage that *IS* what they have become.
Maybe then the Constitution could be restored and the people that wrecked it be held accountable by shining a spotlight on our rigged elections. Rigged by corporate media, electronic tabulation, or dirty tricks, “We The People” have been denied our constitutional rights.
But I ain’t holding my breath. The 5th estate (the web) is under attack now.

The Clinton family is not a legacy family. Clinton was the first in his family to get a college education. Bush was the 17th legacy from his family to attend Yale, a string of legacies going back to the 1840’s. To compare the Bush and Clinton families on this basis is simply absurd.
And, let me remind you of something you probably don’t know – Clinton is the ONLY candidate so far that I know of who has said explicitly that she will review all of the rules enacted by Bush and reverse many of the unconsitutional liberties he has taken for the executive branch.
