#48 This is precisely why no candidate up there deserves to be president. They refuse to acknowledge what’s really going on and want to paint things their way – the establishment way. During the last Democratic “debate” Kucinich TWICE said that impeachment is necessary to save the country. EVERY CANDIDATE on the stage IGNORED HIM. They pretended he didn’t exist. Tim Russert and Chris Matthews asked no follow up question. Nor did they ask the other candidates where they stand on impeachment. This was the telling moment of the evening. Cowards. Each and every one of them.

Very simple. Cheney is the one with the power, and he’s the one who’s driving the exec branch engine.

Impeaching and removing Bush first just puts Cheney in the Oval Office.

They BOTH need to go, for the good of the country. But getting rid of Cheney first allows for another veep to be appointed before Bush goes — someone people will accept as president. Otherwise Nancy gets the spot.

Remember 1973 and 1974? Imagine if Nixon had gone before Agnew…

Update at 4:25 p.m. ET: The vote to decide to vote (yes, you read that right) just ended. By a 218-194 margin, the House has to vote on whether to send the resolution to the Judiciary Committee. Thatâ€™s happening right now.

Is it just me, or is legislative procedure particularly excruciating? A vote to decide to vote is as bad as a meeting to plan a meeting.
