Breaking: Bernie Kerik indicted.

ABC News is reporting that a “federal grand jury has voted to indict ex-N.Y. city police commissioner Bernard Kerik on charges stemming from tax evasion and corruption allegations.” Mic Check Radio has a rundown of Kerik’s history:

— Allegedly traded $165,000 worth of renovations on his house from a contractor who wanted a license from the city.

– Quit his post training a new Iraqi police force in 2003 after just four months on the job, telling reporters “he needed a vacation.” [Washington Post]

– Used the apartment donated for weary Ground Zero rescue workers into his own personal love nest to use with his mistress. [NY Times]

– Was named in a civil suit in 1999 as “the architect of a system to force prison guards to work for Republicans in their off-hours.” [Newsweek]

– Had mob ties that include the best man in his wedding, Lawrence Ray, who was indicted in 2000 along with other organized crime figures in a scheme to manipulate the stock market. [Washington Post]

– Is now being sued for stiffing the law firm that kept him out of jail for more than $200,000. [NY Daily News]

    Take that, Rudy!

This will be a Republican version of Whitewater, methinks.

  2. Ret. Col. Jack Ripper says:

When friends of Bill and Hillary Clinton get in trouble, our media views this as indicative of something wrong with the Clintons’ character. Will Guiliani be held to the same standard? After all, I would think a “liberal media” would jump all over this.

  3. ProDem says:

No surprise here at least not on the surface. However, if Keric decides to roll and cooperate with the Feds…and gives up Rudy on anything…Rudy’s ship will sink!! He’s done!

  4. Leftside Annie says:

Maybe we’ll get lucky and he’ll take FrutyRudy down with him.

  5. profmarcus says:

if we’re REALLY lucky, kerik will take both rudy AND pat robertson down too…!

And, yes, I DO take it personally

  6. StratRat says:

Kerik is indicative of the entire right side. They pledeg allegiance to the flag, all the while trying to abuse the system at every turn. No wonder Rudy likes him.

Do you ever have anything to add to the discourse on this site. As far as I can see you don’t. Why are you here? Just to be a burr in our sides?

  8. blogenfreude says:

Didn’t he also have the social security/nanny problem?

  9. MagickMuffin says:

Hey TP, about adding the link you published a few weeks ago detailing how Marc Mukasey (Michael Mukasey’s son) is blocking witnesses from testifying concerning Rudy’s company.

I haven’t heard anything about that, except for here.

  10. Vanthomas says:

Rudy’s gay lover indicted eh? Will wonders never cease.

  11. pbg says:

Thanks for focusing on that fascinating detail. What sort of moron with a death wish stiffs his lawyers? I’ll tell you what kind of moron: a moron who was dead certain that somebody will pay his legal bills for him. And suddenly things start looking different, more embarrassing, and suddenly he has to bay for a bunch of lawyers he could never afford. So he bolts.
I am not saying this ’somebody’ is Giuliani; it could be some very powerful mobster for whom he’s been performing valuable services. But whether Roody or a guy who knows where Jimmy Hoffa is buried (under the end zone at the Meadowlands!), They’re backing away from him big time.

what kind of moron stiffs his lawyers? A dirty one.

  12. RUCerious says:

    Weekend at Bernie’s!!!!

Bring your orange jumpsuit and watch out for the guards, they’re mean!

  13. grover nerdkissed says:

watch for Pat Robertson to pray the indictment away.

  14. Leftside Annie says:

Oh – and won’t he have FUN in the Big House?

With a nice cellmate named Bruno. ;o)

Cue trolls mentioning something about indicting “a ham sandwich”…

Oh, and anyone who still thinks TCDon is really a lawyer just hasn’t been paying attention.

TCDonkeyass is here to show just how low and how stupid repukian scum can be, and he is doing a great job at that.

  19. Keith says:

Kerik was fired from his security job at a Saudi hospital and deported after an investigation in 1984.

On the plus side, he was apparently a good bodyguard and chauffeur. But what does his nomination for head of the Dept of Homeland Security say about the judgement of Giuliani or Bush?

    Ooooh! I know!!!

Fealty to the mob in the equation somewhere!!!

  21. Ret. Col. Jack Ripper says:

Hey TC Don, what kind of lawyer doesn’t consider the motivations of someone making an argument? I thought the concept of “motive” was a big thing in your line of work, but when I pointed out to you on another thread that global warming deniers were being paid by industry, you simply ignored the argument.

  22. Jason says:

is it me, or is that the gayest picture you’ve ever seen? rudy is pushing something up bernie’s ass and he’s loving it.

  23. Ret. Col. Jack Ripper says:

RUCerious: “Fealty to the mob in the equation somewhere!!!”

And to think that Rudy was honking and braying about taking on the mob a few weeks ago. Unbelievable!

And he’s the republiscum front runner. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Rudy go byebye now.

  30. Jay Randal says:

That pic proves that Giuliani and Kerik are Gay lovers. No heterosexual male grabs another guy from behind like Giuliani is doing to Kerik. Since Rudy likes to dress in drag, then that means he is the submissive bottom in the relationship.

  31. SanHose says:

    interview with bernard kerik

  32. foreyes says:

Pic shows Rudy “goosing” Bernie Kerik.

Was that in his job description as NY city police commissioner?

Let that be a warning for those wanting to work in a Giuliani administration!

  33. mlwjones says:

An even gayer picture than Rudy’s rightwingfacebook.org picture. And that’s hard to pull off. So to speak.

What a contest – you’re either going to get your first female (and allegedly closet lesbian) president, your first black (and allegedly closet Muslim) president, or your first fascist (and allegedly closet crossdresser cop fetishist) president.

What’s strange is that the last allegation’s got a hell of a lot more proof behind it.

Predictions of the next 911 by a Professional Geologist.

http://www.H2onE2.com Glacial Respiration, Conceptual Ring of Ice, The End of Linear Western Religion
A Geological Exploration of an E2 Earthen Planet And the H2 Human Species
Author: B Billy Marse, Professional Geologist

    Brief Description:
http://www.H2onE2.com is an exploration of the universe, geology, climate, biology, humans, psychology, folklore and ancient structures to uncover the beginning and disclose the end of linear western religion. The true DaVinci Code behind the bible is not a supreme spiritual power but a scientific record of climate change described as Glacial Respiration. The Greek philosophers originated the practice of communicating a hidden idea or message in the short story format, as a metaphor. In the bible, metaphors conceal historic climate change within the fanciful stories. The theory of Glacial Respiration explains the myth behind the Holy Grail, structures such as the Great Pyramids, Stonehenge, Easter Island and is the knowledge that was collected in the Jewish Ark of the Covenant.
The environmental changes of Glacial Respiration determine all biological evolution and can explain why higher forms of intelligent humans developed. Further, Glacial Respiration releases the secret hidden by the Knights Templars, Masonic Order and all religions. Uncovers an advanced Blue-Blooded semi-industrial Atlantian Civilization that was built and destroyed many times over for the last million years. The book ends with an explanation of how linear western religion will be physically ended and describes the construction of the doomsday device capable of fulfilling its own self defining prophesy, “Revelations”. H2onE2 is a mind-expanding experience that stimulates the soul, instinct, intellect and is an almanac to the past, present and future of humanity. Rise, awaken and evolve into H3 human consciousness.

    The discovery:
As a Professional Geologist, I attempted to link the Dust Bowl/Great Depression to a pre-glacial condition or mechanism and ended up writing the book H2onE2. I felt that there was a strong connection between the Dust Bowl and transition back into Glacial Winter. I did notice that my professors scientifically crumbled every time I mentioned the relationship. I could not go back in time or locate indisputable proof. The proof came from understanding all educational disciplines including history and theology. I soon discovered that all religious text both eastern and western continually described significant climate change conditions relating to Glacial Respiration. For years I fought off mixing science and religion until I discovered that the origins of all religions were founded or created to help humans psychologically survive the harsh earthen environment. Without reason I soon accepted that the world’s complicated religions were the same. This came true and I continued to write and discover. Everything came into place as though I was unlocking a 10,000-year-old puzzle. I also realized this puzzle was opened before I discovered it, by someone else, some other group. If so, further understanding of this knowledge might be extracted from significant historical events. Lastly, this is the vital information needed to make future predictions.
