Right-wing starts pushing Lieberman for VP.

In a new Weekly Standard editorial, William Kristol, one of the most prominent and influential voices in the conservative movement, suggests that Sen. Joe Lieberman’s (I-CT) recent speech attacking war critics may be cause for the eventual Republican Presidential nominee to “offer him the vice presidency.” Peter Wehner, a former assistant to President Bush, endorses the “Joe for VP” meme at the Corner.

Sure. Nominate Lieberman for VP, Republican Candidates. Doesn’t matter, I’m not voting for you even if you nominated Hillary Clinton as your VP. ;)

  4. Wayne says:

LIE(ber)man is just showing his true roots. He was always a Republican. Just look at his voting record over the last 7 years.

Chickensh!t Republican-lites Bush Lapdog Democrats are a dime a dozen. Voters need to address them now, in the primaries, then after some of those are weeded out, kick the Republicans out.

Look up and see how your Rep voted, and vote to your conscience.

PS( No I am not expecting you trolls to have a conscience, so no complaining about that. Thats not exactly our fault. When you sell your soul, and try to sell the soul of your country ( The Constitution ), to the Devil, you have no conscience, we know that already.

  5. gummitch says:

Cue the trolls: “Dems threw Lieberman under the bus because he had the courage to love his country more than his party!”

Lieberman may as well run for VP as a Republic; no one would notice the difference.

  6. impeachcheneythenbush says:

I suspect this has been Lieberman’s goal all along. Frankly, I just wish he’d go and run for office in Israel, since that is who he is really supporting…not the American people.

  7. nwmuse says:

What a surprise.. A neo-con suggesting a neo-com in liberal’s clothing for GOP VP. This is only because Lieberman wants to continue on with the PNAC plan of taking out Iran. Lieberman has made no bones about the fact that he supports bombing Iran and has been pushing hard for it.
If you haven’t watched the video with Max Blumenthal and his “Rapture Ready” video, and listen to Lieberman himself, watch it. Lieberman comes in midway in the video.

  8. cha cha cha says:

“Dems threw Lieberman under the bus because he had the courage to love his country more than his party!”

    or

“Lieberman threw truth under the bus because he had the courage to do absolutely anything to get elected even if it meant lying about how he was going to bring the troops home!”

  9. AustinSF says:

Lieberman certainly can be controlled by the GOP if that is what they are looking for. Everyone knows that the GOP has Big Time Dirt on Joe and his wife and their corrupt dealings with BIG PHARMA. So much so that you see how he crawls the carpet for them so they won’t blow the whistle. He is their puppet no doubt about it. Using DINO in reference to him is being kind.

Lieberman for VP of a Republican ticket makes sense to me. Yes!

Maybe the Grand Old Party should just try skipping the ‘08 election….Eight years of misrule by the Bush idiots has truly soured America on the judgment of the elders of the Republican Party. A solid majority of Americans want the Impeachment of VP Richard Cheney to go forward, if only to lay out his monstorous criminal record of lies, torture, corruption, cronyism, bullying, the outing undercover CIA agent Valarie Plame and her cover company, Brewster-Jennings, the secret oil company energy meetings where they prematurely divided up Iraq’s vast oil reserves, stolen elections, war crimes and treason. Why are Republicans covering up for Cheney? And ever a bigger why, why are Democrats covering up for Cheney?

We will become a super dominant majority in 2008

    We will:

    1) Elect Dennis Kucinich the President of the United States. Obama will be the Vice President.

    2) Have him appoint Jesse Jackson the Attorney General of the United States. Sharpton will become the Secretary of Defense.

    3) Oust Reid and Pelosi and replace them with Dr. José Angel Gutiérrez, currently a hispanic separatist — oops! I meant “civil rights advocate” — as speaker of the House, and code pink member Desiree Fairooz as the Senate Majority Leader.

    4) Pass a bill, to follow with President Kucinich’s signature, forcing all companies to eliminate from the payroll all employees — public and private firms — who are registered Republicans. They will feel the wrath of our majority when they are JOBLESS!

I will continue. Please, fellow leftists, feel free to add #5, and so on.

Mr P hasn’t yet figured out that neo-cons are radical leftists, so radical in fact that they made a big lie about being mugged by reality so the conservatives would accept them. The crazies Powell called them.

Yet even Jeanne Kirkpatrick, godmother of the neo-cons, realized before she passed on the problems with radical conservatism. Funny how when your life is coming to a close life becomes more important and reality clarifies:

strong>”..it is a different matter entirely to commit military resources to keep peace in such areas, where often no peace can be kept, or to build nations in our own image before they are ready for our freedoms – or even want them.” Indeed, Kirkpatrick closes her book with a plea for America to look to nonmilitary factors to change the world: “we must remember that historic conflicts between enemies can be won on moral force, without firing a single bullet or missile.”-Jeane Kirkpatrick

You just summed up your talking points pretty well, even emulating the caps! Are you calling your own lessons pitiful?

Usual Leftist your methodology is flawed as what you are accusing others of doing is what the pundits have been doing for years. Accuse others of making ad-hominem attacks while making ad-hominem attacks.

Only people who attend “Land Grant” schools should be able to get jobs. That means, we accept 10%, the rest should be without jobs for life and in poverty.

    DO THE MATH

    Possible McCain-Lieberman Alliance

Introducing McCain to a packed ball room of pro-Israel business executives, defense contractors, and Washington insiders, was Sen. Joseph Lieberman, fresh from being re-elected as an independent after losing the Democratic Party primary in Connecticut.

Lieberman’s glowing tribute to his Republican colleague did not go unnoticed. “McCain-Lieberman? There’s something to that,” JINSA board member Morris J. Amitay told the crowd.

    ISRAEL’S ATTACK ON “LIBERTY”

    http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig/margolis12.html

Why did Israel try to sink a naval vessel of its benefactor and ally? Most likely because ‘Liberty’s’ intercepts flatly contradicted Israel’s claim, made at the war’s beginning on 5 June, that Egypt had attacked Israel, and that Israel’s massive air assault on three Arab nations was in retaliation. In fact, Israel began the war by a devastating, Pearl-Harbor style surprise attack that caught the Arabs in bed and destroyed their entire air forces.

Israel was also preparing to attack Syria to seize its strategic Golan Heights. Washington warned Israel not to invade Syria, which had remained inactive while Israel fought Egypt. Bamford says Israel’s offensive against Syria was abruptly postponed when ‘Liberty’ appeared off Sinai, then launched once it was knocked out of action. Israel’s claim that Syria had attacked it could have been disproved by ‘Liberty.’

MC CAIN’S ROLE IN THE COVERUP:

Liberty Cover-Up and John McCain’s Conscience

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) is the “Conscience of the Senate.” Nevertheless, he won’t come clean about what really happened to the USS Liberty, at the hands of the Israelis.

One of the Navy bigwigs pushing hard for a sanitized Liberty inquiry was none other than Sen. McCain’s father, Admiral John S. McCain, Jr., Commander-in-Chief, Naval Forces Europe. He wanted the investigation done in less than a week. Boston said a “proper inquiry would take at least six months.” Admiral McCain also wouldn’t permit Admiral Kidd to travel to Israel or to contact any potential Israelis witnesses. In fact, according to Boston, the written affidavits of 60 witnesses from the Liberty itself, who were hospitalized at the time of the restricted Inquiry, were also excluded from the final report and not considered as part of the evidentiary record. Boston is convinced, too, that the Israelis’ machine-gunning of the Liberty’s lifeboats, while the crew was trying desperately to assist their colleagues that were seriously wounded, was “a war crime.”

  109. plunger says:

Hey Joe, what’s the deal with Mossad Operative Kobi Alexander?

    He donated $2,000 to you.

Jacob “Kobi” Alexander, the Israeli founder of Comverse Technology, one of the leading Mossad companies involved in the terror attacks has fled justice in the United States and escaped to Israel with at least $57 million of ill-gotten gains.

Kobi Alexander should be arrested and interrogated about his knowledge of the events of 9/11. His company acquired the other Mossad firm, Odigo, shortly after it was revealed that Odigo employees had been forewarned of the attacks on the World Trade Center.

This is the tip of the Israeli criminal mafia who is behind the terror attacks on 9/11.

Here is a relevant section from one of my articles about Mossad’s involvement in 9/11, which I posted on RMN on April 7, 2005:

At least two Israel-based employees of Odigo received warnings of an imminent attack in New York City more than two hours before the first plane hit the WTC. Odigo had its U.S. headquarters two blocks from the WTC. The Odigo employees, however, did not pass the warning on to the authorities in New York City, a move that could have saved thousands of lives.

Odigo has a feature called People Finder that allows users to seek out and contact others based on certain demographics, such as Israeli nationality.

Two weeks after 9/11, Alex Diamandis, Odigo’s vice president, reportedly said, “It was possible that the attack warning was broadcast to other Odigo members, but the company has not received reports of other recipients of the message.”

The Internet address of the sender was given to the FBI, and two months later it was reported that the FBI was still investigating the matter. There have been no media reports since.

Odigo, like many Israeli software companies, is based and has its Research and Development (R&D) center in Herzliya, Israel, the small town north of Tel Aviv, which happens to be where Mossad’s headquarters are located.

Shortly after 9/11, Odigo was taken over by Comverse Technology, another Israeli company. Within a year, five executives from Comverse were reported to have profited by more than $267 million from “insider trading.”

Could we all please stop feeding the trolls around here? They offer nothing to us yet we cannot seem to stop giving them what they most crave: attention.

Add the thug and snake Lieberman as a running mate. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Check below, I’d had a feeling for a while that McCain and Lieberman had made a deal, and now that McCain is all but out of the race, here come the neocons to try and rescue Lieberman. I can’t wait for the staffers w/ knowledge of all this to start talking about this to Bob Woodward. I don’t think any writers pre-dated my assertion below.

deadissue.com 7/17/2007 – In terms of the latter, Senators McCain and Lieberman, whose backroom deal to share a Presidential ticket having been made (my gut tells me this) a long time ago, who now flail and sputter violent predictions of what’s to come, how it would be fun to kill Persians for a while, yet assessing Iraq’s security situation today as positive, reassuring, not so bad, safe…

Oh please please please whoever the rethug nominee is let him pick that quisling LIEberman as his veep.

  120. Lefty Patriot says:

McCain/Lieberman? they’ll be ucky to win one state. It’s a perfect pair, for a Dem landslide. In fact, Kerry could run another of his robotic campaigns and win in a walk. Republicans have a crossdressing coset case with his lover Bernie headed for the clink, a lazy loust actor with a hoochie-coochie wife, a failed senator now hooking up with the main AIPAC whore in the senate, and little else. Oh yeah, a cult member with 5 sons who refuse to enlist.

this will be delicious. the GOP sinks beneath the waves, forever.

  121. Bush is a TRAITOR says:

The only Repub who would choose Lieberman is McCain, and even then it is a long shot. A disloyal, traitorous Democrat is too easy a punching bag to make for an interesting discussion. And TP will never mention the plants in Hillary’s audience.

he’s a loony crackpot warmongering skank like all the GOP candidate
he should be put out to pasture in the next Congress when democrats get a LIEberman-proof majority…might as well flame out all gory.

Sounds like a win all around to me.

    FEEL THE JOEMENTIA!!!

  125. Candyce says:

Joe L. is really a pathetic man, who puts himself above all else. He turned on the Democratic party and Democratic voters that supported him and made him powerful and rich all these years. It’s all about him, and he’ll do anything, including kissing up to the worst kind of Republicans, in order to preserve himself. This is a man with no moral center.

  126. gus smith says:

We definitely have learned that the choice for vice president is important. Look at the last two selections – Lieberman and Cheney.

  127. Proud American Liberal says:

Joe can be the first person in U.S. history to lose two elections as VP from two different parties. I like it.

  128. Jericho says:

Joe Lieberman is as democratic a Senator as MTV is a music television channel.

  129. bilbobaggins says:

Well, the Republicans had to have offered LIEberman something for him to switch horses. LIEberman knows that there is zero chance he will be re-elected, so there has to be some incentive for him to have become so rabidly right wing on so many issues.

  130. delafield says:

    >

    Which country was that? Israel?

  131. foreyes says:

Why doesn’t Joe Lieberman declare himself the Likud candidate and get it over with? After all, the rest of us know where he stands.
