Here I’m going to have to stand by RHF — it IS religion. It’s also those who misuse it for material gain, but religion itself is a means for people to identify themselves, and as such is a very emotional subject — not a rational one for most people. When those who cling to a denomination identity are also told that their’s is the Only True Way, it’s not a great leap to a justification for War.
