Rep. Issa: Krongard has earned a Bush photo-op.

Near the end of today’s contentious hearing with the State Department Inspector General Howard Krongard, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) sought to reward the embattled IG by offering him a ticket to an upcoming White House Christmas party. Issa told Krongard:

Thank you for your service. And I’ll end by saying that the first week of December the president’s having a Christmas party. I have an extra guest ticket. After today, I know that you’ve earned it. I would be happy to have you use my guest ticket and then you’ll get your picture with the president and you’ll get to meet him as well you should.

Earlier in the hearing, Krongard said he had never met the President.

Sounds more like punishment than a reward.

  2. cha cha cha says:

    krongard gives issa a broner

  3. StratRat says:

Issa is a right side nutjob. He wants to be Lil’ Bush…

  4. Zimzone says:

    Kronyism, Darrell?

Issa is a real piece of work. If you want to Neoturd obstructionism at it’s finest, watch Mr. Issa on C-SPAN sometime. He will delay, define, deter and ditch any bill worthy of America’s freedoms.

He’s on par with Tom Davis in the Senate. Meanwhile, Bush can’t remember ever making a mistake, but ‘he’s sure disappointed in congress’.

W, have you ever watched ‘your boys’ on the floor? (Other than Rove & Gannon), they make a mockery of legislating. If you can’t say anything good about anybody but yourself, just STFU.

  5. Zimzone says:

And WTF is up with the name Darrell, Daryl, Duhryl…whatever?

  6. Shayne says:

Rep. Issa gives Krongard the tickets to the Christmas part while giving the American People his middle finger. I hope thr people in his district are proud.

  7. Peter C says:

If Krongard had been doing his job and conducting real investigations, he’d have interviewed Bush personally several times already.

    Krongard, Issa, & GWB.
I can think of a place where I’d like to see all three of them meet, but I’m not going to write it down here…

  9. Steve Crickmore says:

If Krongman is suposed to be a neutral overseer of the State Depts spending and practices, shouldn’t he also recuse himself from such an invitation? Is this invitation a reward for his sevice to the American people and the Consitution, or to the President…Rep. Issa probably thinks the latter.

No, we’re not. He is an idiot. He likes war and the profits created by war.

  11. Zimzone says:

Issa & Imhofe validate rebuttals to Intelligent Design.

  12. Your Conscience says:

He can then sell the photo with shrub on e-bay for $0.00. The recent pancacke with the image of mary and Joseph gets more value than a picture with the Shrub.

My Rep. is also an idiot, although less well known. Hope your neighbors figure him out.

  14. Leftside Annie says:

Now isn’t *that* special? Crony up and get an invite to the WH Christmas party….

    Woofrickityhoo.

  15. Leftside Annie says:

    8 – How about Hell…?

  16. SP Biloxi says:

“Krongard said he had never met the President.”LOL! This dejavu all over again. DeLay said that he didn’t know Abramoff. Bush said that he didn’t know Abramoff yet there are photos of Abramoff and Bush together and emails by Abramoff with access to the White House. Seems like the criminals that get caught with their pants down taken a memory loss pill.

  17. Marie says:

Didn’t we just learn that Krongard’s brother was given a seat on the Blackwater Board?
    Conflict of interest, no?

  18. gooderservice says:

Hey, how about inviting a solider who has returned from the repubs’ war to go to the White House’s fancy party? Oh, no….. only “reward” cronies, and to hell with any constituents.

  19. gooderservice says:

This reminds me of the invitation to a White House dinner to that Elizabeth person on The View last year, so they could give her all the repub talking points to use on the show. What the heck has she done for her country to warrant an invitation to the WH? Nothing. That invitation should have gone to a wounded Vet, period. Again, cronyism at its worst.

We are trying, sir. We are trying.

  21. Social Sound System says:

I’m ashamed of the fact that Issa is the Rep. from my hometown. I see his office off the 78 and Sycamore and it makes me sick. The fact that this Right-wing douchebag is in my backyard. He made his money by taking his business overseas. Some of the words that come out of his mouth…

  22. RUCerious says:

Not only do you get to meet the President, but here’s a laurel, and hearty handshake!

  23. joe cantwell says:

this year there’s going to be a lot of republican perjurers and crooks at the bush whitehouse chritmas party. krongard won’t be standing alone by the punch bowl.

  24. And Yet... says:

#15- Actually, Leftside Annie, I was thinking of a particular place while those three are still on this earth.

    Hell’s for after they’re done w/them there…

  25. Jeannie See says:

Unreal. That Issa would say something like that at the end of a hearing is quite telling.

  26. yorkark says:

This should surprise no one, this administration is the most corrupt that we have had in modern history and this President doesn’t recogize any rules he just makes them up as he goes along and we are suppose to accept them as law. We to need to give a big thanks to these committee investigations they are doing what needs to be done OVERSIGHT

  27. Chocolate Jesus says:

im close to certian the whole “i never met bush, rove, etc ,etc” thing is a total lie.. heres hoping some pictures of them shaking hands surfaces soon…

issa is a scumbag and a criminal, he probably spent most of his time during the testimony jerking off to pictures of his female realtives until he got a message on his blackberry to invote Kronlard to a party to pretend he’s never met and thus is not taking his orders from anyone important..
