Al Gore and California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) “are planning a bipartisan presidential forum on energy and climate change in New Hampshire in December.” Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has already agreed to attend.
OBVIOUSLY the GOP is once again stealing the Democratic plank and making it their own.
Today’s New York Times read like a free publicity add for the GOP. They had a publicity shot of Schwarzeneggar standing among the California Sequoias looking intent and forceful in a lumberjack-kind of open collar shirt with the wind in his hair.
WHY DIDN’T THEY SHOW HIM SPEEDING AROUND IN ONE OF HIS HUMMERS??
Gore has been a legislative expert on environmental issues for more than 30 years. What the media are doing is a crime.
To NRA Gun Nutes…
AMEN BROTHER! We are so screwed in this country by the lickspittle media lackeys.
I didn’t know too many other people were aware of the Schwarzeneggar Enron Michael Milken Energy Crisis connection. Arnold is a TOTAL PHONY.
He ain’t Ronald Reagan. Reagan at least really believed his propaganda.
“I know the issue,†McCain said. “I’ve been involved in it for many, many years. And I’m proud to have played a role in leadership on it.“
Wh….wh…wh…what?!?
McCain was, in fact, among the first Senators to sponsor a carbon cap-and-trade bill, some years ago now. There’s no fear of the issue working for him or any of the other Republicans with their base, though. Their base has been drinking the Fox/Denier coolaid.
Actually, Forcing the RepubliCONS hand into having to deal with the invitation is a great thing. They can either say it Global Climate Change (GCC) does not exist so I will not attend, or they can say it does exist and either not attend or attend.
It puts them on record for the whole ball of wax, as it is.
I think it is a very good rouse to scare the birds from the bushes…so to speak, but the pun works too.
The GOP presidential candidate said the climate change issue had not been discussed enough in the race, either by Republicans or Democrats.
“I know the issue,” McCain said. “I’ve been involved in it for many, many years. And I’m proud to have played a role in leadership on it.“

November 15th, 2007 at 9:15 pmOh, I’m sure that guys like Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo will jump at the opportunity.

November 15th, 2007 at 9:19 pmDoes anyone remember George Bush Senior calling himself the “Green President”?
Talk is cheap…
November 15th, 2007 at 9:55 pmArnold and Gore together is a strange combo, but add McCain to the mix and it becomes truly strange indeed.

Hmm, I’m not sure HOW I’d feel about a “Gore/Schwarzenegger” third-Party ticket.

Oh no – he didn’t mean green as in “ecological,” he meant green as in “sick.” Remember the time he threw up on the Japanese Prime Minister?
