Alvin ‘Buzzy’ Krongard resigns.

By Faiz Shakir on Nov 16th, 2007 at 10:36 pm

Alvin ‘Buzzy’ Krongard resigns.

“The brother of embattled State Department Inspector General Howard Krongard quit as an adviser to Blackwater Worldwide on Friday, two days after the relationship with the security contractor was sharply criticized by a congressional oversight committee. Erik Prince, Blackwater’s top executive, said the conflict-of-interest questions raised by the connection prompted Alvin ‘Buzzy’ Krongard to submit his resignation.”

Oh brother Blackwater threw the guy under the bus.

    buzzzy?!

where do the neo-cons come up with thiese “leave it to beavernames?

  3. SP Biloxi says:

Buzzy bails. Cookie crumbled. Don’t let the door hit you on the butt on your way out, Buzzy! Next!

  4. MapleStreet says:

Sorry, but that cow has already left the barn. Even with Buzzy leaving BW, there is still enough of an association with Howie to call his motives / conflict of interest into question. (Not to mention that he’s already had the appearance of perjury).

  5. Roket says:

If Howard has to recuse himself from his offices most high profile investigations, then what purpose does he serve? Observer? Guess they’re going to have to drag this guy out kicking and screaming.

  6. SkepticRising says:

You gotta wonder if the Blackwater Gang told him, “Buzzy, ol’ boy, if your brother is no longer the IG in our shit, then you can’t do us any good so we don’t need you ’round here no more. Adios.”

  7. The Republic of Stupidity says:

Buzzy, Scooter, Cookie, Rusty (Foggo), Duke…

What is it w/ these clowns? Does this train ever stop running?

NOW do ya think RICO applies to these hideously corrupt creeps?

(What’s amazing is that both Buzzy and Cookie are acting as though this matters, at least publicly… for the time being…)

  8. Marie says:

This isn’t going to change the trouble “Cookie” is in for getting caught lying to the committee.

  9. shadow7 says:

A case of locking the barn door after the horse is stolen, isn’t it? It’s a bit late, the crime has been committed….

  12. VerbalKint says:

    Time to lawyer up, Cookie.

  13. Saint Augustine says:

cavjam @ 1:58 am: What if the State Dept. (WH) wants Cookie at State? Will Cookie resind his recusal of overseeing Blackwater now?

  14. leftcoast says:

Producers for the Dr. Phil show have been in touch with the Krongard family. The working title for the broadcast: “Mommy, Make Him Stop!”

This is going to be more interesting than the show he did with Barb Bush on bottle versus breast feeding and their link to neonatal problems, whoops!, I mean neocon problems.

  15. Veritas says:

One down/One to go! Buzzy got the door and Cookie will get the perjury charge. What a way to go! Two brothers going down together.

  16. Veritas says:

Inspector General Howard Krongard has zero credibility left after lying to Congress; in fact, Howard Krongard in his recused state is utterly useless in the non-performance of his job requirements. Since he can no longer do his job, he needs to resign immediately.

We simply cannot afford to NOT have someone on our payroll who cannot do his job due to a conflict of interest.

This IS a matter of national security to investigate Blackwater and bring those responsible to justice.

  17. Veritas says:

What really boils my blood is that these thugs in high places, appointed by Bush, lie their fool asses off UNTIL they are caught. This appears to be illustrative of the “bush way” of doing business.

I should think that the charge of lying (perjury) would be the second strike against anyone – the first being the fact that they had enough to hide to attempt to lie about it and cover it up.

If we fail to make those liars in high places pay for their lies, what has this country become? Our reputation internationally is mud; with the continued lies of this administration, now the people of our own country have no respect for any of them.

When you lose the respect and support of the people you govern, it’s over.

  18. Veritas says:

Is there even a shadow of a doubt that a Republican will not see the White House in perhaps another decade or so? These continued Republican Liars are tanking the chances of any of their paltry array of neocon buffoons running for president. And, if Rudy becomes their candidate, there isn’t a snowflake’s chance in hell that he won’t be swiftboated the day after he wins the nomination and it will be HUGE – besides, how can this dud believe himself to be qualified (maybe in Bush’s Guide to Politics) going from Mayor to President? Now that’s a huge leap – we’ve seen how horrendous it is to prop up a puppet going from Governor to President. Heaven help us when we actually believe that a Mayor has what it takes to jump to president. Then you know that the Kool-Aid is in the water supply.

  19. Veritas says:

Maybe Rudy’s own kids will swiftboat him for kicking them out of Gracie Mansion to make room for his whore?

  20. helenahandbasket says:

Bushco – Now, they’ve become incompetent liars.
Back in 2002-2003, bushco could lie with impunity, while the g.o.p. congress and the MSM marched in lockstep. Slowly, the pendulum is swinging back to sanity, truth and freedom.

  21. ForTruth says:

Amazing how quick folks can just bail when poo starts flying. The average citizen has to weather the storm in thier job.

  22. Proud American Liberal says:

So typical of these cockroaches. Shine a light on them and they scurry back into the walls.

  23. cavjam says:

Saint Augustine, #14 – Had the Cookie Monster not lied through his capped teeth to Congress, had not publicly displayed laughable investigatory skills (not knowing his bro was on the board? c’mon), and were this not election season, it’d be fait accompli.

  24. rastaman says:

sounds like someone is running from the law because he knows he’s guilty

    i smell blood

    go get em Moustache

  25. bilbobaggins says:

So that means that his brother does not have to recuse himself from all things Blackwater. Thanks a lot Buzzy.

  26. jerseyboyblue says:

Time for House and Senate to do its job and investigate the bastard.

  27. smgumby says:

It doesn’t get much more blatant than that. Buzzy was useful for Blackwater when we could keep investigations at bay.

Now that Buzzy’s brother is no longer the investigator, Buzzy is off the board. What an amazing coincidence…
