In an upcoming BBC documentary entitled The Blair Years, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair “admitted for the first time that he ignored the pleas of his aides and ministers to deter President Bush from waging war on Iraq because he believed that America was doing the right thing. And he has acknowledged that he turned down a last-ditch offer from Mr Bush to pull Britain out of the conflict.” By the spring of 2004, Blair was suffering a “crisis of confidence” about the decision he made:
Tony Blair suffered an extraordinary crisis of confidence which almost triggered his resignation three years before he left office, his friends have suggested.
In the spring of 2004, Mr Blair was deeply depressed by the failure to secure a lasting peace in Iraq and relations had plummeted to a new low with Gordon Brown because of his refusal to set a date to quit 10 Downing Street.
Even poodles have a second thought once in awhile.
November 17th, 2007 at 12:35 pmwar criminal!
take this guy to the hague to stand trial
stop letting these mass murderers roam free
November 17th, 2007 at 12:37 pmA poodle have more insight than a turtle on a fencepost. The turtle has no idea how he got there or how he’s going to get down.
GDumbya is a turtle on a fencepost.
November 17th, 2007 at 12:39 pmA crisis of confidence – not much suffering for being a lapdog to the stupidest man ever to lead America. I thought his articulate comments and speeches post 9/11, contrasted with Bush, demonstrated wisdom on his part – wrong! Like a puppy, Blair doesn’t know or care about the morality of his “master” he is blindly loyal. Brits aptly labeled him “poodle.”
November 17th, 2007 at 12:55 pmWe should expect more from leaders than blind loyalty to a fool.
Blair should suffer consequences for his actions, as should Bush — but we don’t think we will ever see that come to pass do we.
Tony Blair may be a lot of things, but he’s not stupid. I would be wondering how much money it cost to buy him off. And I’d be checking to see if he has any Swiss bank accounts. That missing $9 billion from Iraq had to go somewhere.
November 17th, 2007 at 12:58 pmThe case that Tony Blair is a war criminal is cut and dried.
November 17th, 2007 at 12:59 pmIt’s time to talk to Tony about the consequences of being a war criminal…and mention that he may receive leniency from the Court if he’s smart enough to drop the dime on his co-conspirators.
This could be the development that finally makes this administration accountable for their crimes.
November 17th, 2007 at 1:07 pm“…he turned down a last-ditch offer from Mr Bush to pull Britain out of the conflict” – - Boy, there’s some revisionist history. Whadda crock.
November 17th, 2007 at 1:08 pmI wonder how Tony Blair sleeps at night if he actually does have a conscience. He is culpable in the deaths of millions of Iraqi’s and of almost 4,000 American soldiers. And that isn’t even counting Britain’s dead soldiers.
November 17th, 2007 at 1:11 pmTo get a better insight on Tony (poodle) Blair, HBO has an excellent docudrama called ” The Deal “, watching that you dan see that Gordon Brown seems to be someone that can stand up for and believe in principals, unlike Blair who was willing to sell hos soul to a foolish cowboy from Texas.
November 17th, 2007 at 1:36 pmWe all knew, going into Iraq, that you can’t buy peace with war. One side has to be crushed, and there is no peaceful or nonviolent way to crush a people.
In this case, the political leaders of America and “Great” Britian – with forces infinitely stronger and more capable than any other in the world – chose to crush a people who posed no threat to their respective nations, for the sole purpose of personal political (and demonstrably financial) gain.
This war was criminal from the get-go, and everybody understood that at the time (anyone who claims to have honestly believed the invasion od Iraq was legitimate is either lying, intellectually inept, or emotionally damaged).
Tony Blair knew that what he was doing was criminal when he did it. Like most criminals, he will try to justify his crime.
We should start building gibbets.
November 17th, 2007 at 1:37 pmImagine the Idiot in the WH admitting to something similar ?
NOT !
November 17th, 2007 at 1:48 pmBilly Hill sez:
You don’t even know what a gibbet is, do you?
November 17th, 2007 at 1:52 pmWhen you say you want war, you are saying you want people to die. It’s that simple.
November 17th, 2007 at 1:57 pmBy the spring of 2004, Blair was suffering a “crisis of confidence†about the decision he made
And yet somehow I have no sympathy for the idiot…..
November 17th, 2007 at 1:57 pmTony Blair: ‘I wanted war.’
November 17th, 2007 at 2:07 pmNo,,, Really? Get out of here.
Next you’re going to tell me longitude is measured in degrees from Greenwich, England.
Gibbets?
Are those the body parts that you find stuffed inside the turkey after it thaws out?

November 17th, 2007 at 2:18 pmGibbets?
Are those the body parts that you find stuffed inside the turkey after it thaws out?
November 17th, 2007 at 2:30 pm==================================================
Do you suppose the “heroin sheik” controls the drug cartel responsible for the increased poppy cultivation in Afghanistan?
Gibbets?
Their like Amendments. You need to take them out of the bill before you cook and swallow it.
November 17th, 2007 at 2:46 pmAnd he’ll be remembered accordingly–cats’s paw of America’s worst president!
November 17th, 2007 at 3:03 pmThese are things that the WAR CRIMINAL TONNY BLAIR can reflect on when he finds himself behind barrs, waiting for executuion for WAR CRIMES! TONNY LIER, should be taken to an International court and tried for WAR CRIMES.
November 17th, 2007 at 3:11 pmBilly Hill , THE TIME TO STOP SHOOTING AT THE war criminal american soldiers, is when they stop occupying IRAQ. Until then, they make a very good, moral, when deserved target.
November 17th, 2007 at 3:17 pmThe poodle bites
November 17th, 2007 at 3:20 pmThe poodle chews it
Billy Hill sez:
Christ, Billy…learn to spell, at least…
November 17th, 2007 at 3:21 pm3867!!!!! Because of over two millions of civilians that are dead, and another 3 millions that are displaced, I celebrated each and everyone of them! I just love to see that number going up, and up, and up….
November 17th, 2007 at 3:26 pmTony Blair: ‘I wanted war.’
And did he ever get his war.
The British imperial forays into Mesopotamia have always been meet with opposition; I don’t know why Blair thought the situation would be any different this time around.
More and more, I become convinced the only difference between Blair and Bush is that Blair can speak English; which makes him seem smart.
November 17th, 2007 at 3:43 pmYou followed GW666 and got what you deserved for it, or are gonna get for it when you go on trial at the Hague.
GW666 has been a failure in every aspect of his miserable existance.
Glad the new PM is not a poodle.
Buck Fush
November 17th, 2007 at 4:16 pmHill Billy seems drunk or stoned today, what a freaking tard.
Buck Fush
November 17th, 2007 at 4:18 pmLet me get this straight: Tony Blair wanted peace in the Middle East so he started a war? Huh? So, if I want nieghbors on my block to all get along l should begin by slapping them around?
Hang Tony Blair for War Crimes. Hang him high by his little puppet neck.
November 17th, 2007 at 6:02 pmLittle touted is the fact that Tony Blair unlike most brits is a essentially a born again christian. I suspect that is the major reason that he supported George Bush’s war to take out Sadaam Hussein. All part of getting us all aligned for armagedon. Probably a good idea to vet leaders for those kinds of thoughts. While in general if some one believes this kind of nonsense it is relatively harmless and one can be tolerant but in leaders it is absolutely devastating. And the west is worried about muslim fundamentalists. I say we ought to do our qwn vetting you know he who casts the first stone and all that …….
November 17th, 2007 at 7:24 pmTony Blair was the backbone of the world when we had a president who was getting serviced in the oval office. As for wanting to go to war in Iraq, he was on the same page as GW, Dick Chaney and Hillary.
The problem with the war is our soldiers hands are tied. If any of you idiots would talk to a soldier you would realize things would be a lot different if the rules of engagement were changed. It’s common sense.
November 17th, 2007 at 8:17 pmYou people need to wise up. You make me sick.

November 17th, 2007 at 9:07 pmMy spelling is EXACTLY as I wanted it to be. You must READ all my posts SLOWLY and CAREFULLY as there is yet another layer of sarcasm and levity in the spelling.

another layer of bullshit is all there is. We already know you read SLOWLY, so your lips won’t get all tired out.

Something has made you sick, you sociopathic twit. obviously, you don’t know a single soldier.
November 17th, 2007 at 9:28 pmNice story but if you followed the truth we know Blair was paid big time for his poodle walk. Yes his son got a good job with the White House and Tony was paid with money and his UN job. So all this talk now is to late for those who know the truth. It’s all about the money trail and Tony did very well in that department. For proof Americans should look at the 9 Trillion dollar debt in the US Treasury. Tony is a smart man and he knew his loyalty was worth alot, he knew he had to sell out the UK people and he did.
November 18th, 2007 at 12:50 amHang Bush and Blair, waterboard Laura, the Tweens and the lesbian, And Chenney. Than Hang Chenney and let his fat body be dragged on the street just like they did with Mussollini! WAR CRIMINALS! …hey, Rice, Negroponte, Wolfowitz, Perle, and the rest of the WAR CRIMINALS too. Blair and the reptile Queen!
November 18th, 2007 at 4:52 amHe’s a cute little Yorkshire Terrier.
November 18th, 2007 at 11:26 amIn response to “Tom in Maine” (post #14), PLEASE don’t refer to the global excuse that the United States is enduring as President as a “cowboy.” Truth be known, he was BORN in your State! I live in Texas, and most of the Texans I know DON’T WANT HIM! He’s giving cowboys (and cowgirls, for that matter) a bad name, just as he is polarizing the United States in the global community.
However, we are in agreement on your sentiment, and I’ll be looking for the docudrama you mentioned. 2009 can’t get here soon enough. Shoulda thrown the bums out a long time ago (and most certainly before our troops started dying for oil).
November 19th, 2007 at 3:16 pmIt occurred to me that I should probably leave a comment a little more on topic, so I’ll say this: I’ve had friends who served over in Iraq and one in particular did not make it back. She was a single mom and because of the fact that she went into the Army with the intent of serving a country that she loved so much, this war made an orphan of her child. For Blair to all-of-a-sudden figure out that somewhere, after all this time, he found a little remorse is of little comfort to those who actually suffered the losses of family members, friends, loved ones and neighbors. The war in Iraq was conceived on absolute b.s., and this Administration knows it and still chooses arrogance while making photo ops with our troops as props in the background. It is the patriotism of this Administration that should be called into question, not those who see through their lies, deception, deceit, manipulation and war crimes. I hope to High Heaven Above that a day will come when they will receive the justice they so richly deserve for squandoring our nation’s most precious gifts: the lives of those who demonstrated the courage to serve in places where angels fear to tread, because those who point them in the direction to go and fight don’t have the courage God gave a mouse.
BRING OUR TROOPS HOME.
