Dreamcrusher, you're funny!

Your not very good at making points.

Here's a good one though...Iran's a foe and an enemy huh?

Per Dick Cheney:
"He repeated these views in 1997 during a Central Asian oil conference, saying that the U.S. needed to re-examine its policy of trying to force other nations to avoid all dealings with Iran. "We are pursuing a policy with respect to Iran that most of our friends in the region think doesn't make any sense...(and) it undermines our leadership in other areas." He also warned that the policy could make the newly independent countries overly reliant on Russian pipelines and subject to Russian influence."

And here's another one about dangerous Iran:

In 1998, addressing an oil conference in Australia, Cheney said the United States should lift its threat of economic sanctions on companies attempting to do business with Iran. "I think the US made a mistake in trying to impose a secondary boycott in effect (on companies doing business with Iran)....We used to impose that kind of measure when Arab governments tried to penalize firms ... that did business with Israel. It's a bad idea, bad policy....There's enormous damage I think to the US relationships with some friends around the world and I think it's wrong. I think we'd be better off if we in fact backed off those sanctions, didn't try to impose secondary boycotts on companies like BHP trying to do business over there ... and instead started to rebuild those relationships." (The Australian firm BHP had been criticized by US Senator Alfonse D'Amato for a project to build a gas line from Iran to Pakistan.) Cheney said it could take 10 years for the US to rebuild its relationship with Iran.

Oooooo, and yet another:

Cheney said Halliburton had some operations in Iran through foreign subsidiaries, which is all that is allowed under US law. "But we would like to do more than we're able to do in Iran at present." While US energy companies have had to sit on the sidelines, oil companies from the rest of the world that sometimes do not operate with "the same high standards" have invested in Iran's energy sector, Cheney said. But he acknowledged that working to improve relations with Iran would be particularly difficult for the United States. "There's been enough aggravation on both sides, whether you consider the Iranian occupation of our embassy in 1979 and holding hostages for over a year, or the shoot-down of the Iran airliner by a US naval vessel in 1988. It's been a tragedy in terms of the relationship," he said.

In February 2000, Cheney and Halliburton were reported to have held a major stake in Dresser-Rand and Ingersoll-Dresser Pump Co., two American players in the reconstruction of Iraq's oil industry. A Halliburton spokesman confirmed that these two of his firm's former joint ventures conducted business with Baghdad. "The joint ventures sold (water pumps and) spare parts to Iraq through European subsidiaries," he said. These interests were sold off several months earlier, however, and Cheney "was not involved in the management of either joint venture and was not involved in the decision to make such sales" to Iraq.

After reading both articles, I see the one thing that Karl and Kos agree on -- the Bush administration is a miserable failure. How else do you explain the positions in their columns?

Rove: Distance yourself from the current administration.
Markos: Remind voters of the current administration.

In other words, the current administration is toxic. And apparently both sides are admitting it now.

The next question -- whose advice will be followed? Rove's column could have been written by an GOP strategist -- it's pretty obvious what they need to do. However, the current crop of GOP candidates have come out in favor of staying the course (and even escalating the course) in Iraq, bombing Iran, endorsing torture, giving more tax cuts to the rich, and screwing the poor. In other words, giving us pretty much the same thing we've been experiencing under Bush. The GOP has already become pretty tarnished under Bush, and Rove can only polish it up so much, but the current candidates don't seem to want to escape this mudhole.

Markos says we need to look at all the things the Bush administration has done to hurt our country and concentrate on fixing them. Most of the Dem candidates are already focusing on just that.

Think Progress should sponsor English lessons for their regular readers. Logic 101 might also be useful…

Both of which would be lost on you. Logic to you is lies, you've proven it almost every time out. You cleave to your lies like the socipath bush does. Your idiotic little lectures are just a reflection of your own weknesses and shortcomings. Logic and you are strangers, and will remain so.

gee, Rove having newsweek connections.. suddenly the frequent different covers of domestic versions of Newsweek, mysteriously ommiting covers like "losing afghantistan" and substituting them for "my life in pictures", suddenly makes more sense. if this little POS isnt in jail by 2012 id be surprised, once bush is out, he's going to have alot harder time staying off the witness stand...

Excellent catch on the Clinton as de facto dem. nom. trigger.

My favorite string from this thread, however, is that Republicans need to GLOW.

(shake head in disbelief)

Yes, just burst with an incandescent friggin' sphere of detachment from the puddle of puke you've made living in this country into in such short order.

BEAM with pride over the collapse of America's principles, dollar and standing in the world.

GLOW with the light that only $100 barrels of oil can set aflame.

Rove's advice is to pretend the Repukes haven't done enormous damage to this great nation.
The public won't be a buyin, just like his anti-math in 06.

"Every presidential election is about change and the future, not the past." And yet every Republican candidate for president likes to run on the idea of restoring this country to a greatness it once had in the past. Before terrorists frightened the ones too dumb to realize they would never be targets. Before the "surge" of illegal immigrants lured here by employers (many Republican) too cheap to pay living wages. Before women began to speak up and demand equal treatment as human beings with their own property rights. In short, Republicans want to see this country go back to the 1950's (especially before rock'n'roll.)

Cockroaches don't die.

You just have to keep on stepping on them to keep them from doing more harm and to remind you how gross they are.

Poor KKKarl ... desperate times calls for desperate measures. Hey, even in his last days, McCarthy and his attorney Roy Cohn tried so hard, but they couldn't keep Karma from having McCarthy be censured from the government and die an alcoholic. Roy Cohn died of AIDS without anyone really anyone to shower him with love in his last days. Like I said, can we say KARMA.

And oh yes, Karl will get his ... probably already is.

Did anyone else notice Rove put into his first piece for Newsweek the following classic playbook fake-out:

The GOP nominee must highlight his core convictions to help people understand who he is and to set up a natural contrast with Clinton, both on style and substance.

He's using the already propagated GOP meme (which he probably designed) that says Clinton is the de facto Democratic candidate. That isn't yet the case, we haven't voted yet. The right wing is pushing their media holdings to spread this meme far and wide. Here is their grand spin poobah doing the same. DON'T FALL FOR IT FOLKS! Remember this, repeat it over and over to yourselves until January....

WE GET TO DECIDE WHO OUR CANDIDATE IS AND WE HAVEN'T VOTED YET! So BACK THE #$^@%)$&^@#$% OFF you #$^@%^&#%^# elephants!

He encourages them to distances themselves from the “low approval rates of the Republican president”

Sounds like running against Bush to me. Maybe it's not in the "bizarro world"
of the neocons?

"Rove is not telling Republicans to run against Bush. He’s telling them to glow with optimism, not give up on minority voters, and to be authentic."

and it's good advice, since Dems are going to crush the Treason party and scatter it to the 4 winds, excellent reason for optimism. thanks, Kkkarl!

Keep it up, girls, the gOP is done, ruined and f**ked, thanks to you and the rest of the 20% of retards who can't deal with the facts on the ground. Bush is a disaster, America is trashed, iraq is lost, and you are hopelessly brainwashed. Must have been a very small washer.

He’s telling them to glow with optimism, not give up on minority voters, and to be authentic. Summarized by Rove: -Dream Crusher

Glow with optimism, and corruption, which occured during the Rove/Bush years will suddenly dissapear. Never mind about those scandals, the abrogating of the Hatch act, of caging votes, or keeping minorities from voting, never mind the unfiscal GOP, never mind all the scandals, forget them, and be happy, glow with corrupt pride!, help me spread propaganda and the GOP will cure itself is what Rove is saying!! Dont worry be happy! Just gleefully sweep the dirt under the rug with happy words and smile!!

If you would have bothered to read the Washington Post article you linked, you would know that Mr. Gore was arguing against an invasion of Iraq. He wanted Bush to find the 911 terrorists and finish the war he started in Afghanistan.
Son, you are out of your league here and are making a fool of yourself. My advice to you is to open your mind and read more from reputable sources.

Please read what you wrote before you click the post button, so you won't look ridiculous. Remember this bonehead statement?

Think Progress states unequivocally that “meteorologists generally have thin knowledge of long-term climate patterns”

So show them who you are in a way that gives the American people hope, optimism and insight. That’s the best antidote to the low approval rates of the Republican president.”

Bwah, Rove wants you honest people to save the party of corruption and Bush's low poll numbers, the very number his partisanship created, by telling the world, "Hey I supported that"

Notice, DreamCrusher, Karl himself still cannot and will not accept ANY of the blame.
