Yes, he was kidding when he said that Obama should keep Cheney as VP, but he’s serious about needing a nutcase to threaten people with. The idea that a president needs to say “I can’t control my VP and he might attack you if you don’t knuckle under” is preposterous. Period.

I am shocked that Friedman would write something so ridiculous.

Did the poor man have a stroke and forget what hell Cheney and his ilk have created? Did he lose all ability to think rationally? This is one of the dumbest opinion pieces I have ever read.

Cheney’s philosophy of foreign policy has been a disaster. His asinine methods of dealing with Iran have not exactly been a model of success.
