Radar reports that, prior to securing a spot as a Newsweek columnist, Karl Rove approached Time magazine for a job. Time, however, rejected Rove as “essentially like an unindicted coconspirator in a whole host of felonies”:
Time’s editors apparently felt the cost/benefit analysis wouldn’t be in their favor if they embraced the man who has done more than anyone to keep the spirit of Joe McCarthy alive and well in American politics. … “They think Karl is essentially like an unindicted coconspirator in a whole string of felonies.”
Good.
Now where's the story about Obama smoking drugs?
November 20th, 2007 at 4:26 pmToo bad that Time( a WarnerWarnerWanker and Warner company) wouldn't tell this story on the pages of their glam rag instead of what they were fed by the conspirators they now speak ill of? I wonder how they think they can have it both ways? Just hire rover. we won't think any less of you, really.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:26 pmWell, he *IS* exactly that. Tubby little barstid ought to be in jail.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:28 pmWonder what an eminence like Turdblossom thinks of being lined up across the table from a non-entity like the Great Orange Satan. I guess in his scramble to remain relevant he was willing to take anything he could get.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:28 pmWho woulda thought TIME would get something right?
November 20th, 2007 at 4:29 pm"Karl is essentially like an unindicted coconspirator in a whole string of felonies"
And that's news to us? Heck, anyone who was or is connected to these Fascist Mafia GW666 Criminals is an Unindicted or Indicted coconspirator, the whole freaking lot of them are criminals, as are their Fascist Brownshirt Lockstep Lemming Supporter called Trolls here at TP.

November 20th, 2007 at 4:31 pmIsn't Bill Krstol a Time columnist? That's almost as bad.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:31 pmbushco needs more
Get Into Jail Free
cards.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:32 pmIm so tire of hearing about the necessary evil smearchitect.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:33 pm"...in a whole hose of feloniesâ€: - - Yes, we certainly have been hosed.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:33 pmKKKarl thought he was Man of the Year for Time, remember?
KKKarl & other Bush pariahs need to spend more time alone.
Away from families.
Away from society.
Away from sunshine.
Away from fresh air.
How do all of you think KKKarl would do in jail? Would he be...
Inspected?
Rejected?
Injected?
Dejected?
All of the above.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:33 pmWow, I always thought Newsweek had slightly more scruples than Time... I am proven wrong. Of course, as a nearly lifelong subscriber of Newsweek I can still say without hesitation that it is 50% rubbish and 50% advertisements. The only reason I bother wasting time with it is because it's one way to understand how in the hell so many people actually vote/believe/buy what they do.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:34 pmGuess NewsWeak can look past his transgressions, as long as he gets the blogosphere enraged.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:35 pmthe most corrupt journalist in history. -Manslagt
History ended then?
Naw, that award went to Judy Miller.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:36 pmXis - I thought it went to Robert Novak!
But, nah, he's not a journalist. He's just an idiot.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:39 pmhe also sucks and he's a little turd...
November 20th, 2007 at 4:40 pmGood for Time Mag. I s'pose.
Now TP fix this, "unidicted coconspirator in a whole hose of feloniesâ€:
November 20th, 2007 at 4:40 pmKarl was used and thrown under the bus by the imperial crackpot realists. He just happens to be the only one, so far, that hasn't realised it yet. And when he does boy is he gonna spill the beans to save his arterially clogged heart and min..urr derrier.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:40 pmXis - I thought it went to Robert Novak!
He got the award for so many years hes no longer eligible. =)
November 20th, 2007 at 4:42 pmFunny, I missed all the stories in Time about Rove's/Bush's/Cheney's string of felonies. You'd think they be screaming for impeachment like the rest of us.
just another bit of felon-enabling corporate media.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:46 pmDid TIME also reject Kos to balance this out?
November 20th, 2007 at 4:50 pmGood.
Glad that TIME did the right thing by not allowing Tubby McTreason Rove a journalism pass card.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:58 pmDid TIME also reject Kos to balance this out?
Comment by Menehune
markos is educated, rove is a college drop out. markos created a progressive forum as a way to exchange ideas with the planet, rove smears anybody not towing the neocon line. markos encourages debate and communication, rove runs from the light of day. markos is relevant, rove is not.
November 20th, 2007 at 4:58 pmWill Rove review Scott McClellan's new book?
November 20th, 2007 at 4:59 pmWhy should Time have KKK Rove when they have Bill Kristol?
November 20th, 2007 at 5:12 pmI like Time - they have balls.
November 20th, 2007 at 5:17 pm"...essentially like an unindicted coconspirator in a whole string of felonies.†Like? How about IS. Let's hope Rove gets the appropriate execution for his acts of treason.
November 20th, 2007 at 5:30 pmYeah but it would have been nice if they'd said it before Newsweek announced they were hiring him, not after.
November 20th, 2007 at 5:35 pmTime's Matt Cooper was one of those who was given information and he nearly went to jail. Time must have paid plenty of $$ for their reporter's legal defense. Incredibly, one of the rats behind the sordid story, Rove, actually approached Time for a job.
November 20th, 2007 at 5:43 pmTalk about brass balls.
Wow, that surprises me, I would have thought it would be the other way around. Time is a very conservative newsweekly and Newsweek isn't exactly liberal, but they aren't as conservative as Time. So Time did the right thing and Newsweek didn't. I think I might change my subscription.
November 20th, 2007 at 5:45 pm#13, Stupid Git,
November 20th, 2007 at 5:46 pmI, too, have been a lifelong subscriber to Newsweek for the same reasons as you. Today's magazine is not the same as it was 15 years ago. I still prefer it over Time, but it sure isn't held in the same esteem by me as it once was.
Not only did Time reject Rove, so will History, GOD and the Universe!
November 20th, 2007 at 6:05 pmJosh Marshall had an item a few weeks back that Aris' cabal was planning a 15 million dollar buy to sell the Iran war, but that both parties were so hawkish, they decided to save their money. Shows how effective AIPAC really is.
November 20th, 2007 at 6:22 pmA little insight from TIME's party at YKos.
Bill Kristol will no longer be a contributor to TIME.
After a few cocktails, and an unsuccessful though diligent effort to second-source it, I got this response to my question of, "Am I the only person that cancelled my (20 yr+) subscription because you hired Bill Kristol?"
"No."
We shall see. Do not underestimate your own power.
November 20th, 2007 at 6:25 pmWhy should Time have KKK Rove when they have Bill Kristol?
Comment by Uncle Ho — November 20, 2007 @ 5:12 pm
Right. But this says a lot about how low Rove is viewed by "Time" (and deservedly so).
November 20th, 2007 at 6:38 pmthere's a reason markos moulitsas was invited to contribute to newsweek with karl rove, and i don't think it's at all to markos' credit... think about it...
And, yes, I DO take it personally
November 20th, 2007 at 7:10 pmTIME magazine can feel the presure of the sea change. It knows how people around the globe are buying less and less of their cra... So what do they do?! To paint some kind of righteous media image, it regects a guy who should be behind barrs. TIME should republish it editorials and articles of 2003 about WMD, MUSHROOM CLOUDS AND YOU NAME IT!!!!
November 20th, 2007 at 7:34 pmIs this Time magazine's way of saying that they f**ked up when they helped cheerlead the U.S. into war with Iraq?
November 20th, 2007 at 8:20 pmTime may very well have rejected Rove, just as most people have rejected Rove as a decent human being.
November 20th, 2007 at 8:21 pmTime is CORRECT.
Rove is a TRAITOR to the USA...
Sincerely,
NRA Gun Nutes
November 20th, 2007 at 9:22 pmHopefully this rejection touched Rove's deep inner child, and made him feel like shit. Reminded him of the time his mother rejected him by killing herself.
Good one huh.
November 20th, 2007 at 9:30 pmI have a far simpler reason--and it's one the Right should agree on:
November 20th, 2007 at 10:30 pmKarl rove is not a writer.
You pay Karl Rove for a column, you'll get one written by an assistant that Karl will maybe glance at.
You'd get the same result if you got Donald Trump to write a real estate column.
Off with his f$&@#en head
