After announcing his resignation on Nov. 15, Rep. Dennis Hastert (R-IL) today formally handed in his letter of resignation, which goes into effect at 10:59 PM CST tonight. A special election will be held to fill his position on Feb. 5. See the full letter HERE.
Good riddance–you predator protecting old fool!!!
November 26th, 2007 at 7:45 pmMaybe foley can provide you with a happy ending….

November 26th, 2007 at 7:52 pmJust in time for the news to break about his narcotics dealings!
November 26th, 2007 at 7:55 pmOh cool…. good reason to throw a party tonight =)
November 26th, 2007 at 7:59 pm( like I need an excuse LOL )
oh boy! look out pages… he’s looking for some lovin’!
November 26th, 2007 at 8:02 pmLott is leaving the sinking ship along with this fat rat. I hear it’s to beat the new ethics rules that take into effect soon that don’t allow Senators/Congressmen to become lobbyists. Or maybe it’s because these 2 accomplices don’t want to be around to explain how they support Bush’s declaration of martial law. For Hastert, it’s most likely because he has been named as a co-conspirator in one of the aftershoots of the Duke Cunningham scandal.
November 26th, 2007 at 8:04 pmWOOHOO!!
November 26th, 2007 at 8:19 pmo/`And another one’s gone, and another one’s gone, another one bites the dust… o/`
November 26th, 2007 at 8:34 pmIt’s like humpty dumpty, except all of the king’s men are leaving. And it’s doubtful the GOP will ever be put together again.
We should hold a resignation drive to encourage more. Got crime? Resign today!
November 26th, 2007 at 8:51 pmmy congressman–but no longer.
November 26th, 2007 at 8:55 pmHoist a glass!
Funny.. when they no longer have the power to p*ss on the rest of us w/ impunity, they can’t wait to leave town as fast as possible.
So much for loving their country and doing the job they chose to take on, huh?
November 26th, 2007 at 9:05 pmThese guys are costing their states lots of money in special elections. So many rats jumping ship, seems these elections aren’t so “special” anymore.
November 26th, 2007 at 9:06 pmThe concept of serving your country while in office has been long lost on the Repukes, and most Dems too.
November 26th, 2007 at 9:07 pmHasert and Lott go from Party Boosters to Party Poopers at the same time.
These rats know the ugliness that is coming.
Look for MANY more resignations to come in rapid succession, as the entire system of American Hegemony tied to the Petrodollar comes unwound.
Iraq is lost, and so is the economy.
November 26th, 2007 at 9:39 pmThe rodents are departing the foundering vessel!
November 26th, 2007 at 10:02 pmTextbook Righty Coward, just like Lott – getting out of town before any responsibility gets handed out…
…then again, maybe the DC madame’s phone records are about to yield some more tasty dirt…
November 26th, 2007 at 10:22 pmFatboy, we hardly knew ye…
November 26th, 2007 at 10:32 pmGood riddance to Hastert and may he take all corrupt GOP members fo Congress with him!
John Laesch will be an excellent replacement for Hastert. If you live in the district, check out John’s website and send him some $$.
