“Rudy Giuliani said yesterday he ‘never had any doubt‘ that if he were President four years ago, he would have invaded Iraq. He said he is now ‘even more certain’ that it was the correct national security move.” Rudy then kicked it up yet another notch: “I actually believe that Democrats are going to agree with me on that by the time we get to the general election.”
I wonder if its something in the water?
I hope its not contagious…. although it appears to be since 24% of the population still believes this crap.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:02 pmBy the time we get to the general election Rudy will be firmly planted on the sidelines.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:03 pmGot Kool-Aid…?
November 27th, 2007 at 1:05 pmwe need to keep Rudy on top so he gets the nomination….
he is soooooooooooooo easy to discredit.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:06 pmDon’t be so sure you’re going to the general election, Rudy. The rotting stench of Bernie Kerik is going to be pretty hard to wash off.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:08 pmIf the ‘08 election is Giuliani v. Clinton… New York will probably just stay home.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:12 pmWhat IS this guy smoking?
It seems to me that Giuliani is still living in the post-9/11 days when he was a media darling and he could say any stupid thing and people would hang on it like it was gospel.
But he’s dreaming if he thinks that 1) a populace, 75% of whom oppose the war, will elect him as their president, and 2) that he thinks he will be able to convince a war-weary nation that our occupation of Iraq is a wonderful thing.
Unless he knows something we don’t. Is there an Iraqi terrorist force out there somewhere poised to blow up the Empire State Building? Sears Tower? Disneyland? Only another terrorist attack could galvanize a warmonger’s candidacy, and this scares me somewhat.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:16 pmre 7
What exactly, beyond republican talking points, do you find objectionable about Hillary? Really. She is not my favorite canaditate, by far, but I will vote for her rather than stay home on election day.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:16 pmHuh. I don’t think Rudy knows any REAL Democrats…
November 27th, 2007 at 1:19 pmUh, who is this “WE” tRudy? You think we would agree that invading and occupying Iraq for building bases so we could control ME Oil deposits, all the while murdering hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, and thousands of our own soldiers? You really think that we would AGREE ON THAT?
You’re an fascist idiot.

November 27th, 2007 at 1:19 pmKool-Aide hose just keeps getting bigger and bigger…HOPEFULLY it will burst soon!!
November 27th, 2007 at 1:21 pmIt seems to me that it would be political suicide at this time for a candidate to say he would have invaded Iraq too. In 2003 that would fly pretty well, but not now. Iraq was not a threat in any way at all. They had nothing to do with 9/11. They had no WMD. There simply was no reason to invade, force regime change, and stay permanently in a nation-building capacity.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:22 pmI can’t imagine Rudy Giuliani’s finger being inches away from the big red button in the White House that launches 30,000 nuclear ICBMs. It’s just too frightening.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:24 pm“Good-gravy!” as grandma says, (and SHE’S even against the war!), is this guy in a duel with McCain to see who can dig the deepest hole?
November 27th, 2007 at 1:25 pmI’ve seen the caricatures of politicans who say the most ridiculous, obviously pandering things…but never in my life would I imagine seeing one actually come to life.
Giuliani….is a complete joke.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:27 pmRudy’s certifiably nutso, that’s clear now. He’s not only the most “unqualified” candidate in the race, he’s also showing the people how seriously demented he is. Maybe it’s senile dementia? To suggest that any democrat would rally around him merely illustrates his total grasp on reality.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:30 pmAnd, what’s more, by the time he election rolls around, his ties to organized crime and his criminal actions will be so well known that no one will even want to know the man or be associated with him.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:31 pmRudy Giuliani: Poster Boy for the adage – “There’s no Fool like an Old, inexperienced fool”.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:32 pmI’m just wondering how he would answer that question, Dr. Matt? Maybe he’d spout the same lies as Bush? If so, it’s political suicide.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:33 pmThe more Ghouliani talks, the more he paints himself into a very small corner.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:33 pm#8 Since Ground Zero was erected two days prior to 9/11, perhaps he does know something. What the people do know now is that Ghouliani was the “annointed one” to benefit from 911 – just like Bush thought he would. Too much controversy and unanswered coincidences running around the country right now for Rudy to not become one of the prime suspects.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:35 pmDebaser & Bobwurst: It won’t ONLY be a choice between the lesser of two evils on election day. There will be challengers emerging from the Independent voters, trust me – and challengers with a lot more going for them then Rudy and Hillary combined.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:37 pmI hear Liechtenstein is a threat, are they next?
Seriously, this statement alone should disqualify him from office. The thing is that people who don’t live in New York seem to be buying what he’s selling. He as president scares the living ___ out of me. I’m hoping that as people pay more attention they will see he is filled with utter BS, but it scares me that he has not already been laughed off/thrown off the national stage.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:38 pmRudy sez: “I actually believe that Democrats are going to agree with me on that by the time we get to the general election.â€
Is Rudy having ANOTHER affair – this time with Joe Lieberman? That’s the only way I can see that he could make such a deluded statement.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:39 pmI find it hard to believe such a moron is the leading candidate for the Republicans.
Then again, I look at the current president and I understand why a moron is their leading candidate.
In 12 more years, the Republicans will be nominating potted plants if they keep this trend going.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:39 pmSecurity advice from the man who ignored the recommendation to put the emergency command center in Brooklyn. He put it in the #1 terrorist target in the world (which had already been hit) so he could bang his mistress. And he wanted a crook with mob ties to run Homeland Security.
Oh and he has psychopathic neocons as his foreign policy advisors who are eager to plunge the world into a nuclear holocaust.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:44 pmNo doubt about invading Iraq and putting the ‘Comand Central’ in the World Trade complex after its target status was established fact are two of the best reasons NOT to vote for this putz.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:46 pmIn 12 more years, the Republicans will be nominating potted plants if they keep this trend going.

You sure can set up the jokes: Bush the potted (and cocained and alcoholed) shrub, planted in the White House by the neocons who watered his ego just enough to keep him pliable but in the dark enough so he didn’t grow out of the container they put him in. Mission accomplished.
November 27th, 2007 at 1:46 pmCan someone please tell Rudy Giuliani : the last thing America needs after 8 yrs of hell with idiot Bush is a MOBSTER PRESIDENT. We don’t want the Italian Mafia in the White House! Hell no!

Well she’s worse than an empty suit in Washington. She’s a carpetbagger. As a Senator she has done NOTHING for our state. She doesn’t even give the appearance of doing diddles.
She doesn’t do her job. Clinton’s an opportunist that took the title for her presidential ambitions. I do not like her. A lot of politically active people in NY do not like her.

November 27th, 2007 at 1:53 pmI would like for Rudy to address veterans of OIF who still don’t know if any good has come of this war
November 27th, 2007 at 1:55 pmHEY RUDDY, WOULD ALSO LIE ABOUT IRAQ/9-11 CONNECTION, WMD, ALUMINIUM TUBES, MISSION ACOMPLISHED??? OK, OK, LETS CHANGE THE SUBJECT… RUDDY, HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT WTC7 WAS GOING TO COLLAPSE?! AND, A BIT OUT OF YOUR JURISDICTION, BUT, TRY TO EXPLAIN HOW COME THE THREE TOWERS HAD TOTAL COLLAPSE IN LESS THAN TEN SECONDS! TOTAL COLLAPSE! AND DO YOU BY ANY CHANCE HAVE THE FOOTAGE OF A 757 HITTING THE PENTAGON?! DO YOU?
November 27th, 2007 at 2:04 pm“I actually believe that Democrats are going to agree with me on that by the time we get to the general election.â€
November 27th, 2007 at 2:12 pmHEY RUDDY, ARE YOU AND YOUR BUDDIES PLANNING YET ANOTHER ATTCK???????!!!!!!! 9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB!
IF SO, RUDDY, MAKE SURE THAT THE NEXT TOWER DOE NOT GO AGAINST THE LAWS OF PHISICS WHEN IT COMES DOWN… PRETEND TO LEAVE SOMETHING STANDING, JUST LIKE CHANCE WOULD… AND MAKE SURE IT TAKES MORE THAN FREE FALL SPEED TO COME DOWN. THIS WAY WE COULD NOT TELL IF IT WAS AN INSIDE JOB OR NOT.
November 27th, 2007 at 2:15 pmIs deebaser un chien andalusia?
November 27th, 2007 at 2:24 pmI get the feeling that Republican candidates are swinging for the fences because they know whoever gets the nomination will be saddled with the legacy of the failed Bush presidency, and they are just praying that something lucky will happen in Iraq.
November 27th, 2007 at 2:54 pmLordy. All these Republicans must have REALLYteensy peeners.
November 27th, 2007 at 2:55 pmOnce again: proof that Neo-Conservativism is a mental disorder.
November 27th, 2007 at 3:00 pmRudee will be lucky to get a job as a night Security Guard at Wal-Mart after all his little “issues” surface. His One-trick-pony is wearing very thin and his personal life will be a real anchor on his ship.
Unfortunately, he may be the only repug who can beat Hil.

November 27th, 2007 at 3:19 pmRudy Giuliani – Part of the False Flag Operation
November 27th, 2007 at 3:22 pmUpside: Good to see you. Yeah, Rudy’s personal life and a few commercials showing his children outing him will be all that’s needed to sink his ship.
November 27th, 2007 at 3:23 pmDebaser: Hillary is the most polarizing individual in this country, next to George W. Bush. She represents the Establishment and is in the pocket of special interest groups who have funded her totally.
Her vote to enable the Emperor into this highly illegal war will tank her. I don’t see her garnering the women’s vote either. Most women cannot relate to her when she did her “stand by her man” routine while Bill was getting his rocks off. Women know that the ONLY reason she pretended to handle it so well was for precisely THIS moment – running for President.
Everything that Hillary has done in her entire life has been with this end goal clearly in mind. Nothing about Hillary is spontaneous – it’s all part of an “Act” for her. She’s rigid, unemotional, and closed minded. She would not govern well. She’s unapproachable and we certainly don’t need Bill back into the White House to bollix up the works again.
November 27th, 2007 at 3:27 pmI don’t believe that we’ve ever seen the “real Hillary”because even Hillary hasn’t met her yet. Her level of personal authenticity is non-existent and she’s a flipflopping puppet ready to acquiesce to whatever the prevailing breeze appears to be. Case in point was her flipflop on the issuance of driver’s licenses to illegal aliens in HER STATE. In the one debate, she answered honestly and realized that she was contradicting herself and suffered greatly in the polls for it. In the next debate, her monosyllabic answer of “No” only made it worse. The horse was out of the gate and there’s no reruns.
November 27th, 2007 at 3:31 pmFruity Rudy to thee we pray…STFU!
November 27th, 2007 at 3:51 pmnow that we are winning in iraq – the libs will make it it a non issue. trying hard to never bring it up.
except hillary. she will begin touting her excellent foresight in voting for the war.
next – the libs will start attacking the economy…..the never ending attempt to talk down the economy and stay off the the topic of the war we are winning
November 27th, 2007 at 4:08 pmWinski – pass that Kool-Aid hose to our friend at #49….
Yikes. Poor thing is seriously deluded.

There is something very telling (and damning) about the
November 27th, 2007 at 4:57 pmfact that his kids dislike him so. Much ugly baggage I hope.
Upside: Good to see you. Yeah, Rudy’s personal life and a few commercials showing his children outing him will be all that’s needed to sink his ship.
Comment by Veritas — November 27, 2007 @ 3:23 pm
Yea, Veritas and Austex, I have a real problem when the kids not only dislike him, they are open about it.
Even Ronnie Raygunz kids (2 out of 3, anyway), waited til he was not running before they got too carried away, publicly.
