Columnist compares peace summit to ‘gang rape.’

Writing in the Washington Times this morning, conservative columnist Frank Gaffney compares the Middle East peace conference being held in Annapolis, MD today to “a gang-rape” because of the inclusion of Saudi Arabia and Syria in the talks. According to Gaffney, holding the conference is equivalent to appeasing Hitler in the 1930s:

Despite official efforts to low-ball its significance, Miss Rice’s conclave is shaping up to be a gang-rape of a nation on a scale not seen since Munich in 1938, when the British and French allowed Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini to have their violent way with Czechoslovakia.

  4. Jack Jett says:

Gaffney is ALWAYS dreaming a gang rape.

He would settle for a little BJ.

The more I read about this shit..the more I dislike Israel.

Just tell Mr. Gaffney to cool his jets. The whole charade is designed so nothing will get done.

Think of the whole exercise as softcore hard porn for the political world. Lots of oohing and ahhing, but nothing actually happening. Hell, the Sauds don’t even want to shake the hand of an Isreali. How is anyone suppose to rape someone if they won’t even touch them. LMAO. And such nice and hospitable friends our President keeps.

Anyone else getting tired of every diplomatic effort in the Middle East being compared to Munich 1938?

And if diplomatic talks with Israel’s neighbors are gang rape, what does gaffney consider the systematic expulsion of Palestinians from their villages in 1948 and the illegal seizure of their territory in 1967? Pre-vigilante justice?

  7. profmarcus says:

yes, #5, it’s all bald-faced hooey… anyone who thinks that anything substantive will come out of annapolis is smoking some very strong stuff…

And, yes, I DO take it personally

  8. Bruce Gorton says:

You know, I have yet to hear of a successful round of peace talks, where the other side hasn’t been invited.

  9. Zimzone says:

Gaffney should bet 90 lashes. Maybe 200.

If you’re an arms manufacturer, that’s a very successful round of peace talks.

It’s time to start a movement to have ALL the wingnuts DEPORTED! Let’s send them to build the bush compound in south america that the twins bought on their last trip and NEVER let them back in!! Talk about closing the boarders to radicals!

  14. Veritas says:

This “peace talk PR stunt” is Bush’s last-ditch effort to salvage his legacy from the cesspool.

    Well put.

  16. Veritas says:

Indeed, this is a case of the “enemy within” being far more destructive than the “enemy outside”. We now KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt precisely whom these individuals are and the people will rout them out regardless of where they hide in exile.

Why do you think there’s a mass exodus from this administration and Congress? They see the handwriting on the wall. It won’t be long before a class action by the people, for the people, and of the people will begin to name and finger all of the “criminals within”. It’s coming.

This entire post reminds me of Munich in 1938.

As long as the peace talks don’t result in the other Middle Eastern countries splitting up and absorbing Israel, I fail to see the link to what happened to Czechoslovakia.

  18. Veritas says:

And, we know who they are – PNAC, AIPAC, Federalists and bona fide Bushwipes. The people will never forget what they’ve done to our democracy and will hold them accountable and responsible for “crimes against humanity, treason, and war crimes” until each of them completes his natural life.

  19. Veritas says:

They may believe that by leaving the limelight they’ll become immune – not so. The People will rout them out of their dens and hiding places and not rest until we see them brought to the justice they deserve – in a jumpsuit and sitting in prison for life.

    Both full of crap.

  31. Pete Bogs says:

considering Saudi Arabia is there, the term “gang rape” seems somehow appropriate…

  32. ForTruth says:

Then why doesn’t this columnist speak out against all the crap that has been coming out of Saudi Arabia, and why we continue to play kissy face with them?

  33. Leftside Annie says:

Crikey. With a foreign policy that seems to consist of only three words: KILL THEM ALL – these people are beyond scary.

  34. drtichy says:

This “peace-summit” is actually a rape of the American people by this Bushit administration, trying to give us the impression that Bush is doing something valuable & significant.

It will be a complete disaster, making things still worse for our country. This idiot cannot speak, much less speak to people who he has conflict with.

Well…, may be he can speak good with the Saudis… because he has some interests in common with them – oil and $.

This crowd represented by Mr. Gaffney always portrays itself as victicms, when in fact they are the ones victimizing others.

  38. sacopenapa says:

THE PALESTININAN PEOPLE HAD A DEMOCRATIC ELECTED GOVERNMENT THAT ISRAEL AND US IGNORED. ACTUALLY THE ELECTIONS THAT TOOK PLACE IN PALESTINA WERE MORE TRANSPARANT THAN ANY US ELECTION! THEY PUNISHED THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE FOR HAVING VOTED THR “WRONG WAY”. THE US AND ISRAEL CRIMINALS DID NOT ENGAGED THE ELECTED GOVERNMENT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE POLITICAL ARENA. THUS DEMONIZING HAMAS ONCE MORE. ISRAEL REFUSE HAMAS CEASE FIRE DEAL AND CONTINUE THE CRIMINAL EXTENTION OF ITS TERRITOTY INTO PALESTINIAN LAND. ISRAEL HAS IGNORED COUNTLESS UN RESOLUTIONS AND POSSESSES NUCLEAR WEAPONS.

  39. sacopenapa says:

THIS IS A PICTURE OF OCCUPYERS PRETENDING THAT THEY ARE DOING SOMETHING FOR THE CONFLICT ISRAEL/PALESTINA. ISRAEL HAS TO LEAVE THE OCCUPYING TERRITORIES. THEY ARE THE AGRESSORS, THE TERRORISTS AND INVADERS.

  40. sacopenapa says:

IF MEXICO DID TO THE US WHAT ISRAEL IS DOING TO THE PALESTININANS, THE HYPOCRISY OF US/ISRAEL WOULD BE EXPOSED!
