$250,000:

$250,000:»

Amount it has cost the RNC to recover missing e-mails sent by Karl Rove and other White House aides on political e-mail accounts. House investigators have charged the RNC with overseeing the “extensive destruction” of these e-mails, which may have violated the Presidential Records Act. The $250,000 has gone to former FBI agents hired to retrieve the lost e-mails and to lawyers hired to defend the RNC.

Now we can get to the truth about Karl Rove and treason!

    Talk about money for NOTHING!

  3. po Says:

that’s nice . . . what that cost them, a handful of seats at a private get together amongst party donors.

How about finding out how much of US taxpayer money has gone into getting the RNC to comply with the law. Will any of their donors being footing that bill. Not with those tax cuts.

  5. Menehune Says:

#4… I think the Repubes payed for their tricks. At least David Vitter did.

  6. Zimzone Says:

    Chump Change.

Hell, Ken Mehlman gets more per blowjob on KKKarl & Rent-a-Lott than the entire cost of this cover-up.

Hmmm, Ken & KKKarl Kover-up. Has a nice ring to it.

Not price too high. Get ‘em and nail ‘em.

  8. IgnoranceIsNotBliss Says:

It won’t matter much. If there is anything incriminating in those emails and he goes to court, bush would just pardon him.

  9. Veritas Says:

#8 But who will pardon Bush for his crimes against humanity and international war crimes? Now that’s the question of the hour. The Hague is roasting marshmellows as they wait to fry his tender butt.

  10. Tender Chicken Says:

#9: Precisely why Bush bought up that property in Paraguay, and subsequently Paraguay declared anyone within its borders are not subject to world law (that must have cost Bush a lot in bribe money). Bush is just like the Nazi cowards who ran to South America after WWII in order to avoid prosecution for their crimes against humanity. Bush is no better than the Nazi cowards, perhaps worse.

    $250,000.00?

    Kickbacks for everyone!

  12. IMPEACH NOW Says:

Another commenter at Atrios raised another point. Seligman trial in Alabama (Dem former governor in AL, who was sent to prison on trumped up corruption charges) may be back in the news and the speculation is Rove was caught red-handed through emails and other docs. The commenter speculates that Sen. Leahy may already have all that documentation.

If so, Rove’s goose is cooked for ever.

But every dollar out of the DNC pockets for this is one less dollar for the repug election war chest.

And they already are WAAAY behind in their fundraising, both at the candidate level and at the party level.

250k is only a small monetary hit to the republicans. Their image has taken a much larger hit and there is no signs of the slide stopping.

  17. Marie Says:

This is “pocket money” for the RNC, but nonetheless, it is that much less in their coffers.

True, and I heard that one lifelong repug is actually going to run as a Dem for Hagel’s open seat in Nebraska, saying he didn’t think he could win as a repug ——— in NE-f’ing-BRASKA!!.

The old time-tested republican look-over-there! trick. Reminder to “ct”: Clinton and Gore haven’t been in office for 7 years. The problems we face today are 100% caused by Bush and his republican gang of goons. You really ought to love your country more than you love your republican party. Putting a politcal party first might make people think you are a traitor to your country. People might think you are guilty of treason. You wouldn’t want that now, would you? Why don’t you love your country instead of loving George W. Bush and the republican party. Trust me on this one, and I know I’m right here, they don’t give a sh!t about you. Not one sh!t. Not even half of one.

  25. Ret. Col. Jack Ripper Says:

I’m sure “ct” thought it was a great use of congressional money and time to investigate the Clintons’ Christmas list. Likewise, I’m sure he was hell-bent on congress investigating whether or not politics were involved in the firing of two travel office employees and I’m sure he was mad-as-hell about the fact that two file boxes were mistakenly stuck in a closet instead of the storage facility across the street.

yes, let’s do that. You Republiscum are good at throwing away taxpayer money, go after that straw man as well. After all, since you’re losing three wars, trashing the Constitution and destroying the economy, you might as well do every stupid, senseless thing you can think of.

It was a quick news snippet I saw this morning. I am going to look at the Nebraska papers online.

  28. Doc Rock Says:

$250,000 wouldn’t even cover the Charmin bill to clean up that mess. Don’t expect to see anything revealing for that price.
