The hate was flowing. It was lake Nuremberg in the 1930’s.

Mike Huckabee said he was in favor of the Mars program and then suggested sending Hillary Clinton there.

When Ron Paul tried to explain why it is not a good thing to occupy a country illegally and that it only promotes backlash, the crowd booed him.

When Mitt Romney talked about holding prisoners indefinitely with out counsel against the Geneva conventions they cheered him. I believed he said “I want to double the size of Guantanomo”.

When Giuliani was asked by a Muslim young women how he would prevent a backlash against innocent Muslims due to the 911 and the war on terror, he immediately responded with the words “by staying on the offensive”. The crowd immediately cheered when they heard those four words. Blood was in the air. I suspect that was not exactly the answer she was expecting.

When the older gay vet was speaking about his service to our country and how homosexuals have and our serving our country and the fact that two servicemen every year are getting kicked out due to their sexual orientation and why that is wrong, the crowd was booing him. I wonder if his microphone was really accidentally turned off or turned off by one of the homophobes in the crowd. Don’t Republicans realize that most modern industrial societies today allow gays in the military? What is wrong with these people?

The whole evening the hate flowed.

Yes, the U-Tube debate showed me that there is a large segment of the population that has absolutely no compassion for the human condition. It showed me that the hate is so strong out there that the very principles that this country was founded on are in serious jeopardy. I now understand how hate can lead to fascism. I understand how the Germans became Nazi’s in the 1930’s and 1940’s. I now know that this is starting to happen in this country.

I’ll leave it up to you to ponder why.

The rest of the questions were probably from “don’t taze me bro” boy and others of his ilk. ;)

Of course they would talk about those that entered our country illegally… they always pull out that wedge issue, always have it available as notice it never gets solved.
Susan is concerned about OUR present health care system… the system run by corporations for profit, can pick and choose their clients and make profits by denying coverage. What a joke this is in front of the world and how tragic if has become for so many.
America wants a decent affordable health care system where no one is denied…perhaps coverage like Cheney, Bush and Congress receives.

As a long time non-subscriber, to cable T.V., I can pick and choose what I watch of the “debates”. One of the most promising things, to me, is the crowd response. I think a candidate spewing B.S. deserves to be shouted down. It serves to show their character under pressure. And how they deal with being angry.

The sad fact is that none of the candidates, from either party, have done much to earn my respect. And, I fear, it’s going to get worse after the nominations are final.
