If they haven’t been already, all the republican candidates should be asked: “Overall, do you think George Bush has been an effective president?” Then they should be asked what specifically he has done that has been effective or ineffective. But they shouldn’t be allowed just to say some things he did were effective and some were not. “Do you think he has been an effective president?”
i watched part of a debate on cspan a while back… charlie rose was moderater, the right was represented by none other than karl rove
and jeb bush… when charlie introduced jeb (first), he made NO mention of the man’s brother who just happens to be the
WORST PRESIDENT EVER…
What’s important is that for the umpteenth time in all these GOP debates, Rudy repeated his muddled mantra of how the Democrats in their debate never use the word Islamofascism.
The GOP crop running for POTUS are not so stupid that they want to be associated with the best that their own party could off. What a bunch of bat shit crazies.
hey cold_hard_left, your logic is just plain desperate and tragic.. What reason would those in a republiCON debate have for bringing up prominent members and ‘former’ presidents of the opposition party? As say bringing up the name of the CURRENT “appointed” resident of the White house OF THEIR OWN PARTY? (You know, the one you all march in lock-step to… THAT guy) And the B. Hussein Obama swipe.. … What is this supposed to do? Evoke and inflame the not-so-hidden bigotry for anyone not named, Biff, Muffy, or Chad?? Trasnparent and pathetic. (straight out of mann coulter’s playbook … and way past tired).
Bat shit crazy will be the operative work watching these dullards who call themselves “conservatives” and “values voters” pretend Guiliani is really “the one” because he can beat Hillary. Any day now we will see Pat Robertson come out and declare: “To hell with abortion, gays, guns, and God–Guiliani will keep America safe-just like Bush.”
CHL, #15 put it well. It really stinks of desperation. You grow more pathetic every day you post here. Why don’t you just spare us all and crawl back under your slimy rock? If you leave now you won’t be spared the shame of crawling away on election day next year.
The CNN transcript has 4 mentions of Bush, but only 2 by the candidates. One is from John King, one is from Grover Norqist, one from Rudi (advising Bush to strengthen the dollar by cutting federal spending. WTF?), and one from Thompson in reference to failed immigration reform.
There were a couple of references to the “president”, but the from the candidates’ mouths… Bush got only two mentions. And notably, two more than Cheney.
If the leading Republican presidential candidate used tax-payer money his people hid in different accounts to fund his adulterous affair, how many MSM news outlets would’ve run lead stories and for how many weeks would the stories dominate coverage.
By the way, jdc, these aren’t “debates,” they’re forums for these clowns to spout panel-tested talking points. FOX’s O’Reilly and Hannity are “news men?”
What’s the point of your foolish dreaming, jdc? If the dems had the stupidity to appear on a channel that went to court to affirm their right to lie to their viewers, they would deserve whatever reatment they got. Fox viewers are lied to by the Republican machine every hour of every day; it’s their policy.
Poor Carol Costello–banished to the back closet of the Situation Room. I think the final straw was when she challenged a Republican senator–don’t remember which one–on the faulty intelligence that got us into Iraq. They found the need to cancel her show and bring in the O’Brien puppets after that. I used to like her–but she has since drunk the Kool-aid. I guess they convinced her how tough it is out in the world for an out-of-work 40-something female newsreader.
How many times was Hitler brought up?

He’s definitely pulling something, and I suppose technically it’s a muscle.

November 30th, 2007 at 3:02 amThey keep mentioning Hillary, instead. Why talk about the last president – let’s talk about the next one.
November 30th, 2007 at 5:15 amCHL,
November 30th, 2007 at 6:31 amwhat about Chester A. Arthur and James Polk??? Huh! Maybe your buddy clarence told them to shut up!
Just seven years ago, the Republicans were celebrating permanent hegemony over America. Now their party is dead.
The Democrats could put up a dog turn in 2008 and still win.

I thought it was aptly put the first time. GWB is the best that their own party could off. I wish they’d get to it already & off the guy.
