This is clearly motivated by Gregory's longing and desire to be considered "smarter than everyone else" and more important than others. Now that there is a forum for people to express opinions that show how deficient and biased our corporate media is (and always was), Gregory suddenly finds that he's not nearly as smart as he thought he was (and not as smart as his his colleagues once told him he was). Gregory's comment was obviously motivated by envy.

That being said, until now, Gregory had struck me as somewhat more talented than most of his colleagues. Helen used to be a hack but has become somewhat better and more talented in recent years.

David Gregory has discovered that expressions of differences of opinion results in people disagreeing with each other.

Wow! What an astute journalist!

I'm sure it has nothing to do with Republicans throwing around words like "traitor" or "coward" at Democrats, even honored veterans like Jack Murtha, John Kerry, or Max Cleland. I'm sure it has nothing to do with every right-wing radio/TV host in the country saying Democrats "hate America" and that we "support terrorists".

It has nothing to do with the right-wing witchhunt of Bill Clinton, calling him a murderer, blaming him for the 9/11 attacks and international terrorism, criticizing him when he launched attacks on Al Qaeda, then finally impeaching him for lying about an affair.

Nope, that didn't polarize the country at all. Blogs are purely to blame for all the polarization. Thanks "stretch". Now you can go back to kissing up to your hero George W. Bush.

I'm sick of watching Gregory, et al, suck at their jobs and get bullied by prep-school punks.

I'm as sick of the results of contemporary journalism schools as I am of the results of contemporary business schools - both produce sycophantic, unimaginative, unintelligent graduates whose flocking and mimicry skills are enough to qualify them to be mynah birds.

What a place we're in now, thanks to advances in modern PR and Marketing.

The hyperpartisanship all began with the right wing media. The Internet is mostly a reaction to Fox "News" propaganda, right wing hate speech radio, right wing newspaper propaganda and the middling right wing tabloid magazines.

bigfoot has the shoe o the wrong foot, as usual. there is no partisan hatred in the world of blogging like that of the rightwing nazi blogs powerline, redstate and lgf, who are so antiAmerican they won't even allow contrasting opinions to be posted on their sites. if any of what bigfoot says were true, he would be banned instantly and his posts removed. the fact that he can come here and lie at will, spread his filthy nazi propaganda, and then return, disporoves his assertions completely. pure projection, coupled with the usual right-wing lies, is all he has to offer. the blogosphere will save America from fascist domination, if America is to be saved at all. the left-wing blogosphere will be the heros of the 2nd American revolution, once again defeating a tyrant named George.

Riiiight.

Politicians don't make politics divisive - bloggers do...

It's such a shame that bloggers have taken the harmonious world that existed before the internet and have rent it asunder. Why, I can't think of a single thing in all of history that caused any kind of political rift within a society... Just imagine how differently the Civil War could have ended if it weren't for those nasty bloggers.

Yes - that's a leap in logic. Its called an illustrative metaphor before you dumb trolls start your ignorant crap. Divide that, bish!

Gregory needs to pull his head out...

We salute people who put integrity, honesty, and the well-being of the country above partisan bullshit. The fact that there are a mere handful of them on the Republican side of the aisle isn’t our fault.

What the blogosphere does do for Democrats is provide a daily barometer of just how much hatred there is for anyone labeled Republican, which provides Democrats with the freedom of wide leeway in their decision making while having constant indicators at hand showing that they will still get the tacit support of people who vote against anyone calling themself a Republican.

Comment by O. Bigfoot — December 3, 2007 @ 6:13 am

Which alternate reality do you live in, and how's the weather there?

Only cause the liberal blogosphere I know and am a part of does not universally hate Republicans and love Democrats. We salute people who put integrity, honesty, and the well-being of the country above partisan bullshit. The fact that there are a mere handful of them on the Republican side of the aisle isn't our fault.

O. Bigfoot

I wouldn't exactly call the Republicans losing both houses in 2006 "No power." I wouldn't call the Democrats not losing a single seat in those elections an expression of powerlessness.

Nor would I call Ron Paul's campaign contributions, garnered mainly via online libertarians "nothing."

What you don't understand is that you Republicans fully deserve every bit of scorn you anti-moral, anti-intellectual and anti-human braggarts have gotten over the last few years, and the only reason why the so-called blogosphere is so overwhelmingly leftwing, is because Americans are frankly nauseated by the very thought of you.

Sure, the Democratic party is taking this support for granted, sure the leftwing blogosphere is taking it, for now. That doesn't mean the blogosphere is powerless, it just means the blogosphere has looked at the alternative.

The Republican Party started the second Civil War when it stole the 2000 election. The blogs are merely expressing America's outrage against these traitors.

Comment by rockyroad — December 3, 2007 @ 1:47 am

That's always been my approach. I figure I won't get to Heaven, and would probably find it boring. So, I take measures to insure my place in Hell. If nothing else, it's a good back up.

Now I really have to go to bed.

Happy Hunting!

Nope, nothing to do with you RR. I've been playing him like a fiddle. But, he violated the terms of his confinement and needed a harsh reminder of who is playing whom. Now, I let him rave till he has to sleep. Then, I'll begin a new tune, or not. It hardly matters. He's quite capable of amusing me without a score.

Thanx for the offer of reinforcement but, there are some members of my band who have yet to appear on stage. It would be unfair to deny them a chance to play such a fine instrument. However, if you wish, special guest stars are always a nice surprise.

Speaking of sleep, it's time to retire.

G'night noble humans.
You too trolls, if you dare to mingle with your betters.

Pete.

While I have always had to work hard and treat people decently to get ahead, I suspect that in the line to hell, Bush or Cheney would happily give me a break. I'd offer you cuts, but I'm afraid that we couldn't request special assignments. On the bright side, based upon my earthly experiences, having fought for everything that I've ever earned, in hell, I'll have a distinct advantage. I'll have earned . . . I'll have created value. . . I'll have fought . . . Frankly, I'll have failed, brushed off the dust, gotten up and tried again, succeeded, and led . . . all concepts distinctly alien to four-deferrment Cheney and "You're high if you think I'm going to serve in the National Guard Service . . . Yeah Dad, on my way, you guys kiss my smokin ass, toot-toot - I'm so outta here - dubya. It's a BART 'tood.

(BTW, Rythem clearlly isn't correct, but I looked it up and Spellchecked it - there you go - it's my spelling and I'm sticking to it - Rovian)
