Karl Rove will speak tonight at 6 PM EST at Duke University. “A Conversation with Karl Rove,” which will feature a Q-and-A session, will explore the topics of “the future of American politics, the 2008 presidential election and emerging challenges for the country at home and abroad.” Protestors plan to wear “orange Guantanamo Bay-imitation detention camp jumpsuits” and plan to highlight the Bush administration’s lack of “respect for basic human rights.”
The protesters should spend some time thinking up some really good questions and make sure they get to ask a few. However, the college republicans will probably be strategically placed about the auditorium with questions ready. Anyone for some softball?
December 3rd, 2007 at 10:38 amHuman rights violations and crimes against humanity are the hallmark of the Karlie-Bush reign.
December 3rd, 2007 at 10:38 amWe seem to be inundated with Republican visitors here in Tar Heel country — Giuliani is here for a fund-raiser as well.
As far as Rove’s appearance goes — admission is free, which is causing me to scratch my head. I thought these guys always asked for a king’s ransom to speak anywhere they went.
December 3rd, 2007 at 10:40 amdangit!!1!!! I’ve made plans to watch Rattatoui(sp?) with my wife and her coworker and boyfriend tonight! Actually, it was more like “hey, we’re getting to gether on the 3rd.”
December 3rd, 2007 at 10:42 amOh, well… no protesting for me :(
Should have been titled
Watch and listen to Rove Lie some more!

December 3rd, 2007 at 10:43 amCue up patented TrollBlatherâ„¢ nonsense about “typical fascistic brownshirt liberals censoring poor widdle KKKarl”…
3, 2, 1 ….
December 3rd, 2007 at 10:49 amRove’s stock is declining faster than the value of a DC house. The pasty-faced weasel will have to spin like never before to keep the unwashed masses from flaying him alive. He might think that this is about reviving his reputation and hiding his lies behind new lies. Little does he know – the jig is up. The only place left for Rove is Paraguay.
December 3rd, 2007 at 10:50 am“Mr. Rove, you’ve recently stated that Democrats pushed the 2002 AUMF vote on Iraq, and that the White House did not want the vote held before the elections that year. Former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer and former Chief of Staff Andy Card say that your claim is untrue. Are they both lying?”
December 3rd, 2007 at 10:51 amIs it at Cameron Indoor Arena? Let’s have the Cameron Crazies bounce up and down and scream while Rove speaks. Or at the least, can we get some Duke lacrosse players to gang-bang Rove?
December 3rd, 2007 at 10:51 amBut, I thought that ALL college campuses were hotbeds of radicalism and Communism and that poor, decent Republicans could never speak on college campuses.
I mean David Whore-o-witz sez so, so it must be true.

December 3rd, 2007 at 10:53 amQ:Mr. Rove, I noticed the man in the restroom stall next to me who was tapping toes, waving hands under the stall and peering in on me was wearing the exact same shoes you are wearing.
Please elaborate.

December 3rd, 2007 at 10:55 amIt would be such a shame if there was a violent riot. I would feel terrible. :(
haha
But really, Rove is a total lying scum pariah . He can only speak in the South. Like to see him try that in New England. They would eat him alive.

December 3rd, 2007 at 10:58 amEvery time one of these “retired” neo-scum bastids gets a speaking engagement gig the masses should show up with rotten vegetables and give these criminals a good ol’ pelting. No dangerous weapons, just some rotten cabbage and fetid tomatoes. Nothing says “crawl back into your hole, neocon scum” like being covered head to toe in stanky old produce.
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:00 amHere’s hoping they display the same respect shown Alberto at his last speaking gig.
KKKarl has to be called out on his misdeeds. This lying, viscous, back room doughboy should be in jail. Now.
Americans may have a short attention span, but KKKarl should be spat on, ridiculed and challenged with the truth wherever he appears.
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:00 amWell good. There should be police there to arrest him when he arrives.
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:15 amI hope those kids make a huge stink. I wish I could be there…
Whitey, you could take your wife and friends to the movie tomorrow night… ;)
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:16 amRove should get the Andrew Card treatment.

I’d be terrified to go in public if I were Rove-
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:19 amMy minimum fee for listeng to a Rove speech is $35,000 plus first class accomidations and Bose noise cancelation ear phones. For an additional $35,000, I will take a bye on the ear phones, but must be provided an ample supply of airsick bags or a very large bucket.
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:19 amIf there was any truth in advertising, that little talk would be called, “A Bullshi* Session with Carl Rove”
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:23 amGood!
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:24 amLike I said before, these people deliberately and belligerantly devided this country for political gain, and when they get out of office, they’ll never be able to stand before an audience of Americans, they’ll have to go to staged, partisan events.
admission is free, which is causing me to scratch my head. I thought these guys always asked for a king’s ransom to speak anywhere they went.

Just because the university isn’t charging admission doesn’t mean that he isn’t being paid. That setup isn’t so unusual.
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:35 am“… they’ll have to go to staged, partisan events.”
Comment by OxyCon — December 3, 2007 @ 11:24 am
Ummm… they already have to do that.
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:35 am“But, I thought that ALL college campuses were hotbeds of radicalism and Communism and that poor, decent Republicans could never speak on college campuses.”
Oh, it’s soooo true. See the thing is, this happens wherever people are more than usually edji-ma-cated and are encouraged to think rather than blindly swallow “patriotic” soundbytes. That edji-ma-cation is bad and should be put out to work in the fields …
… oh wait, them Commies done DID that … that can’t be right …
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:40 amBe sure to bring your rotten tomatoes and poo to fling at this scum-bag.

I should have been hawking the RUC FlamingBagOShitCatapult on the web this week…
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:58 amThey’re going to feature a Q-and-A session? Karl has forgotten that he’s outside the bubble, hasn’t he? Since the writers are on strike, they should televise this nationally. Karl Rove is no frigging genius, and DU will prove it tonight.
December 3rd, 2007 at 12:10 pmRu; can it be found on e-bay? (:-D)
December 3rd, 2007 at 12:22 pmThis guy has ignored a subpoena for how many months or years? If Conyers had any spine he’d send the Capitol Hill Police there tonight and arrest him while he’s on stage.
December 3rd, 2007 at 12:59 pmIf by chance any Duke Blue Devils who’re going to be there tonight are reading this I have a great question for you to ask Rove.
Sitting in a desk drawer at John Conyers’ office is a Caging List of Black, Hispanic and Native American voters (Democrats). The list was compiled by Rove’s former right-hand man Tim Griffin. The list illegally scrubbed these people from the voter roles (many are soldiers serving in Iraq). Timmy resigned when the list was given to Conyers. Since Timmy Griffin obviously didn’t make a move without Rove’s approval I’d like to someone to ask Rove will he let Timmy take the fall for the list or will he come forward and accept responsibility.
He’ll never see this question coming since this story got no publicity and is effectively dead in the corporate media.

December 3rd, 2007 at 1:12 pmI live in chapel Hill, 10 miles from Duke. Your readers need to know that Duke has a strong and vocal young republican group that i am sure will be present. I am trying to get hold of a free ticket for tonight but i am finding it hard to connect to the people in charge.
December 3rd, 2007 at 1:54 pmRove is such a pig; traitor, despicable in his handling of politics and a all-around evil person. I want to go to see him attacked and confronted by protesters. I have had enough of this nasty and vile regime.
Paulko…….
Please keep us posted. I hope you can get in.
This shit should be televised. Can’t wait till the turd comes to Dallas.

December 3rd, 2007 at 2:00 pmOK
December 3rd, 2007 at 2:04 pmI just called and all 1232 seats are reserved. There are only tickets for an overflow televised seating in another theatre that is filling up fast and you need to go to the student union to get a ticket.
i am on my way!!!
Karl Rove is a traitor to his country and needs to spend the rest of his useless life in prison.
I hope to God those students at Duke let him know just where he stands with real Americans.
December 3rd, 2007 at 2:06 pmQ: Mr. Rove. Was your evil nature caused by your affiliation with Mr. Bush?
Yes, or no, only.
Follow up Q: Mr. Rove. Is Mr. Bush’s evil nature due to his affiliation with you?
Yes, or no, only.
