House Minority Leader John Boehner’s (R-OH) website contains a section on “Winning the Global War on Terror,” which warns that Iran is “governed by a fanatic and actively building nuclear weapons”:

After today’s NIE, looks like Boehner will need to change his site. (Contact his office HERE.)
Boner is stupid and ignorant.Iran is not governed by a single man, but a whole teocratic regime.
December 3rd, 2007 at 4:50 pmDon't make John Boehner(R-Skin Cancer) cry again.
-GSD
December 3rd, 2007 at 4:52 pmNOW you did it, TP! You've upset Boehner and we'll be subjected to more crocodile tears.
December 3rd, 2007 at 4:52 pmI'm sure he'll get right on that. Sheesh.
December 3rd, 2007 at 4:52 pmYou are gonna make me cry...
December 3rd, 2007 at 4:53 pmAs a Minority leader in the House , he is 2 years behind..surprise..surprise.
December 3rd, 2007 at 4:54 pmDid he cry when he heard the news about Iran..?!!
I'm sure that he's trying to find someone to change that right away.
He'd do it himself, but he's afraid the tears would short out his keyboard....
December 3rd, 2007 at 4:55 pmI'll bet you all lunch that the reference is not taken down.
December 3rd, 2007 at 4:57 pmI figure the site hasn't been changed yet (and it still hasn't -- I just checked) because:
1) It's Monday, and you know how busy Mondays get for grunt workers like the one who has to keep the site updated (as a grunt worker myself, I can relate).
OR
2) Boehner and his staff have no intention of changing it. They like having scary stuff in the site, and whether it's true or not is completely irrelevant. Karl Rove School, you know.
December 3rd, 2007 at 4:58 pmOne of these days, Boehner will finally go off, after which he will soften his hard-line stance.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:02 pmPropaganda has no expiration date.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:03 pmOh who cares if his website and he are wrong? They've been wrong about everything since 2000 so why change now?
Pathetic slimebuckets.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:08 pmNow Boner boy is the new Tubby McTreason Rove. I agree. Boner is not going to change the site. Bush lost his brain to work his magic and now he is stuck with crocodile teary eyed Boner to spin the koolaid crapola.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:12 pmIf he does not update I hope he will be indicted for propagandizing to Americans, which is illegal.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:18 pmCall Boehner's office and demand that he retract his war-mongering statements regarding Iran. The number is 1-800-828-0498.
Surely, the actions of Bush and Cheney to whip up War against Iran, after this NIE report was available is an IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:20 pmFear is the tool of men without the ability to govern.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:24 pmAll this really shows is what you see here is the BEST of the repug leadership in Congress. If I were a repug I would be afaid.........very afraid.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:27 pmIts very interesting how various news reports are playing this. At first I thought there was more than one story being reported on.. Its the same story, but they (different news sources) are trying to use the information in different ways to press whatever position they hold - even when they are completely different, at either end of the spectrum! Weird..
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:29 pmI ain't holding my breath. "Reality" and "truth" are foreign concepts to these guys.
Hell, Darth Cheney *still* insists that Saddam Hussein was involved in 9/11....why should The Boner be different?
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:31 pm8 - Sorry, Strat - NO BET. :o/
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:32 pmI must have missed it. Did Iran fully stop producing Nuke material today?
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:34 pmOh look! Roger pulled his string again!!
Good boy, Roger!!
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:36 pmShh, don't tell him, you may make him cry.

Nope, not today.
It was back in 2003, actually.

They stopped thinking about how to build a bomb in 2004
At the moment they are spinning away quite legaly with 3000 cetrifuses that enriches Uranium to 4% to be used as power BUt if they keep doing the same process on the same machines they could have a bomb by 6 am tommoro morning , by saturday it could be under your bed
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:49 pmMommy, will the Islamo-fascists steal my Halloween candy?
-Boo Hoo Boehner, Jr.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:51 pmNWMuse - yes..interesting, isn't it? Even the headlines currently on the NY Times, Washington Post (simiilar) and New York Post (Iran still able to make nuclear weapons)..completely different.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:54 pmRep. Boehner is irrelevant. The press should ask the Republican candidates for president for their reaction to the NIE report.
December 3rd, 2007 at 5:56 pmMeanwhile, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran's president, said that the issue of Tehran's controversial nuclear programme was "closed" and that his country was prepared for any eventuality.
Me too Shutup Neocons
December 3rd, 2007 at 6:08 pmIndia has WMD, is a Socialist country, and refuses to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. RogerX2, when should we invade?
December 3rd, 2007 at 6:09 pmHeres the real reason
The New IAEA regulations should keep newcomers away from producing their own enriched uranium. The US, UK, France, Germany, Russia, China and Japan will become the world’s nuclear filling stations. Under the auspices of the IAEA these suppliers will dictate the rules, the prices and the currencies they want to get paid in. Iran has become the pretext and test case for their plans. The problems of tomorrow’s world economy are being shaped today.
we now have an anti-Iranian alliance of the US and E3. They smell the opportunity for a coup to seize world’s nuclear fuel market. To succeed, they would just need some legal sauce on the prohibition of uranium enrichment by non-nuclear-weapon states, with Iran as example. And a UN Security Council resolution would be enough, if it legalizes IAEA’s stand that it can forbid countries to enrich uranium.
Of course, they would make it impossible for Iran to stay within the Non-Proliferation Treaty then. To succeed their coup, they will have to take care, that Iran does not leave the organization before a resolution is successfully voted. For if so, there would not be any ground for a resolution anymore.
December 3rd, 2007 at 6:12 pmGod that's funny, isn't there an Iranian web site that says that
December 3rd, 2007 at 6:13 pmAmerica is “governed by a fanatic and actively rattling nuclear weaponsâ€:
lets drop the UN sanctions then and restore the republican Guards to normal soldier status and pay 10 billion as compensation to the poor of Iran who get affected by the Santions AND OF COURSE A BIG SORRY
December 3rd, 2007 at 6:15 pmSantions?
Isn't that an Iranian rock group? Moron!
December 3rd, 2007 at 6:19 pmso glad im not got to see images of children being vapourised with nuclear weapons their skin falling off and millions dying of radiation sickness from dropping nuclear weapons on innocent people and I can say AGAIN
December 3rd, 2007 at 6:21 pmOT
very worried about California proposal in play could sway 2008 presidential election
brought to you by Swift Boaters
December 3rd, 2007 at 6:21 pmIt appears CA may get enough signatures... does anyone know if they need a simple majority to win this election held this summer?
This needs attention...if the Swift Boaters get this passed, the '08 presidency may go to the Republicans.
32 - RU - that one made me laugh out loud. Good 'un!!
December 3rd, 2007 at 6:27 pm36 - I'm in Los Angeles; this is the second time they've tried to sneak this crap through. I don't think it's gonna fly this time either. Even if they manage to cheat it onto the ballot, I think it'll die a well-deserved death.
Fingers crossed.
December 3rd, 2007 at 6:29 pmLeftside Annie
December 3rd, 2007 at 6:42 pmThom Hartman has been talking of this issue... he is very concerned.
These neocons will do anything to win.
If they get enough signatures, and the election can be won by simple majority, then I can just imagine how fast they can get their base to vote in an election no one cares about and will not bother to vote.
I must have missed it. Did Iran fully stop producing Nuke material today?
Comment by Roger_Roger — December 3, 2007 @ 5:34 pm
Why should they? We haven't.
December 3rd, 2007 at 7:28 pmThe NIE report will give China and Russia all the reasons they need to block further US sanctions against Iran. The NIE says that Iran has stopped their nuclear weapons program.....if we punish them for that.....what's the incentive to cooperate at all.???
December 3rd, 2007 at 7:49 pmAs much fun as it is to rag Boehner, isn't there some way this can be used constructively ?
For example, a commercial detailing the NIE conclusions (and the timeline of their release, including any pre-pub releases to congress)
-and-
juxtapose that with the wording on his web page ?
Perhaps a split screen showing the clock running with the NIE released and the web page just sitting there.

All Nuke material is bomb ready? ROTFL!!! And you wingnuts wonder why you don't know what a WMD is?
ROTFL you poor little 'tards! You need a democrat running the government for you, children like you shouldn't even be voting!

Now that's a complete and irresponsible fabrication - where did you read those LIES?
You can't rattle a nuclear weapon - they weigh several hundred tons each and are built with 60s and 70s-era solid state technology. Even if you could manage to shake it in a manner that could be described as "rattling" you'd most likely shake a wire loose or disconnect a diode or something and that'd make for a REALLY expensive metaphor, wouldn't it!!
December 3rd, 2007 at 10:37 pmThe name is BO-ner... John BO-ner.
December 3rd, 2007 at 11:13 pmGeez toasty, you know how to damper down, don'tcha?
I had this great vista of the chymp hoisted up onto the top of a Titan missile, rocking back and forth trying to rattle the damn thing.

I picture Yosemite Sam dancing around on the nose cone trying to get the ICBM to launch after the fuse has already burnt its way up into the first-stage solid rocket motor but failed to ignite it.
December 4th, 2007 at 5:48 amTears from the used car salesman of the house will will clear all this up if necessary. I mean now he has somthing to cry about again!
So do you think he really sells lots of undercoating with a coat of it applied to his body?
