The fact remains that the president and vice president could not and cannot force Congress to vote on a damn thing, especially when the Congress was being led by the Democrats at the time.

Why don’t all you partisan BSers come down from your towers and acknowledge that the Iraq vote was done at the time it was because we all wanted to pressure the UN to act quickly to get Saddam into compliance with their obligations.

That’s the truth of the matter. In the end, Rove is more correct than his opponents, since it was the Democrats who had control of the Congress, and thus control over the timing of the vote.

First you come out blazing that dem bloggers keep saying Bush “forced” them to hold a pre-election vote. Then, when I asked for a quote from a dem blogger to that effect, you couldn’t provide one and blathered how you’d claimed Rove was just as wrong as dems. The inner tubes don’t forget.

Please provide quotes from prominent lefty bloggers who say Bush “forced” a vote on Iraq Res. before the 2002 election.

I don’t excuse Tom Daschle for giving in to pressure of Bush and greater wingnuttia claiming Dem cowardice if they didn’t vote before the 2002 election. Again, for wingnut cognitive dissonance, Rove was saying that Bush didn’t want a quick vote and tried to dissuade dems from having a vote before the election. That claim is total bullshit.

The two parties are playing everyone for fools. Only when more people wake up to this fact can we take America back and fulfill the potential of the nation.

OK, I’ll bite this time. What is your plan to “take America back and fulfill the potential of the nation.” It is not, according to you” to be done through the two parties. Right?

All along, Bush has set this up as an operation too big to fail. But it’s failing anyway, due to atrocious planning. The next president will be left with the debacle Bush started, and it will be years before Bush’s failure is undone. Just like His father left Bill Clinton holding the bag in Somalia.

Dealing with a 2 trillion debt run up by the spend-and-borrow republicans, delousing the various government agencies of Bushies, and restoring the rule of law is what I dream of. And I’ll laugh my sodden ass off, when the next president raises your taxes to pay for your little wargasm.
