Do you realize that upon being told that our country was under attach, Bush did not even raise an eyebrow, roll his eyes, or otherwise look surprised, concerned, or even remotely interested??

Was this an indicate of the level of profound mental illness which we are just now beginning to witness and realize? Or was it because he was neither surprised, concerned, or even remotely interested because he was expecting it?? Or even directly involved?

All of his recent lies have shown this man to not have a single cell of credibility in his body so one would have to presume from all of this evidence that nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing (even a false flag on 911) would be beyond him – or beneath him.

At one point, people had to dig to connect the dots and then imagine someone so uncaring, so diabolical, so unpresidential to even think that this could be possible. The past years of continuous lies and covering up, destruction of evidence, obstruction of justice, constitution shredding, illegal spying, and the genocide of our patriotic innocents in Iraq all lead to the now-obvious conclusion.

BUSH KNEW! Just like he knew and condoned every other criminal activity that’s occurred, it all goes straight to the top where the buck finally and ultimately will stop.

The only atmosphere was that of determining what this meant for the next election. Believe it. 9/11 was a gift-horse to Cheney et. al.

As opposed to the people who made those decisions in a panic and have now reconsidered them. Like, oh, Bush. Except he hasn’t. And he won’t.

“Progressives” have never been in favor of torture, rendition, or panicked responses to an attack. Your problem, well one of your problems, is an utter and complete inability to distinguish between “democrats” and “progressives”. Or even “some Democrats” and “progressives.”

And you never absorb this information because you have absolutely no intention, in spite of your claims, of actually listening and learning.

If you are talking about an elected government official who swore an oath to the Constitution then yes, Fielding’s opinions and decisions have merit and import. If you are talking about Richard B. Cheney, well, all bets are off.

Congressional officials say the groups’ ability to challenge the practices was hampered by strict rules of secrecy that prohibited them from being able to take notes or consult legal experts or members of their own staffs. And while various officials have described the briefings as detailed and graphic, it is unclear precisely what members were told about waterboarding and how it is conducted. Several officials familiar with the briefings also recalled that the meetings were marked by an atmosphere of deep concern about the possibility of an imminent terrorist attack.

“In fairness, the environment was different then because we were closer to Sept. 11 and people were still in a panic,” said one U.S. official present during the early briefings. “But there was no objecting, no hand-wringing. The attitude was, ‘We don’t care what you do to those guys as long as you get the information you need to protect the American people.’ ”

Only after information about the practice began to leak in news accounts in 2005 — by which time the CIA had already abandoned waterboarding — did doubts about its legality among individual lawmakers evolve into more widespread dissent. The opposition reached a boiling point this past October, when Democratic lawmakers condemned the practice during Michael B. Mukasey’s confirmation hearings for attorney general.
