Meanwhile, GOP Representative Tom Tancredo (Mr. “We should bomb Mecca because it would deter future terrorists”) and King both were in solidarity in recording mere “present” votes for resolutions recognizing the Muslim holiday of Ramadan and the Hindi Diwali. Tancredo’s reasoning for such a vote? “A no vote could be construed as not commending religion in general, which Tom is for,” his spokesman stated.
