Huckabee criticizes WH foreign policy ‘bunker mentality.’

In an upcoming issue of Foreign Affairs journal, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee criticizes the Bush administration for having an “arrogant bunker mentality” that “has been counterproductive at home and abroad.” Nevertheless, Huckabee — who supports the war in Iraq — said he would “not withdraw troops from Iraq any faster than Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander there, recommends.”

This is getting silly now. Bush was drunk and skipped out of the Military, Dick used the 5 deferment system because he is a coward and now Huck who is another girly man didn't serve when needed but now has all the answers. I wonder if Huck will say it was God who told him about the Military. Where do these idiots come from. No wonder the Middle East is winning as we see Republicans are so stupid it's like all of them were left behind in education. Yes I know George's Daddy paid for his Degree and Cheney just never earned one.

All the Republics presidential hopefuls are escapies from some 1890s looney bin.

Huckabible, I've got 10 seconds to kill, so tell us again all you know about the NIE.

Even Huckabubba sees Bush is in the Hitler-bunker defensive crouch.

    From his Foreign Affairs article:

"Instead of basing our national budget off of payroll taxes for Social Security Huckabee said eliminating federal income taxes in favor of a national sales tax would help save Social Security.
The tax plan Huckabee has proposed, called the "FAIR tax," would eliminate federal income and investment taxes and replace them with a 23 percent federal sales tax."

Ah. Another euphamism. A "FAIR tax!" (Like the "Clean Air Act.") Fair to the rich, as it is the poor who are really smashed by any sales tax.

And raising the SS crap again as if there is something wrong with the way it is now. What ever problems SS has can be easily addressed without changing or wrecking it.

Arrogant Bunker Mentality....say, is that the FOX Xmas party Dana Perino was talking about?

  8. Marie Says:

Huckabee has nothing to say on anything substantive. He could win the nomination, however, and that would be great -- he will lose by 80% of the vote.

  9. had enough Says:

You have to admit this guy has gained attention with his IRS view and is now trying to exploit Bush's failures of foreign policy.
Let us never, ever forget his comment: a wife should graciously submit to her husband. That is so Stephford(sp?) Wife like.

  10. Marie Says:

    Yes, women should be submissive.
Yes, the bible is literal and the earth was created 5000 years ago in 6 days.
Yes, Huckabee appeals to some with his "christianity" but let's ask him about his record as governor, the gifts he received and how he reciprocated, and who he pardoned and why.

Let us never, ever forget his comment: a wife should graciously submit to her husband.

Well, he is an ordained Southern Baptist minister, isn't he?

And this from Wiki tells you all you will ever want to know but were afraid to ask.

At 23, Huckabee was a staffer for James Robison, a television evangelist. Robison commented, "His convictions shape his character and his character will shape his policies. His whole life has been shaped by moral absolutes." Huckabee has stated, "Politics are totally directed by worldview. That's why when people say, 'We ought to separate politics from religion,' I say to separate the two is absolutely impossible". Huckabee believes in Biblical inerrancy.

Which Republican presidential candidate will you support in Alaska's caucus?

    Rudy Giuliani -- 14%
    Mike Huckabee -- 22%
    John McCain -- 9%
    Ron Paul -- 29%
    Mitt Romney -- 9%
    Fred Thompson -- 12%

    Huckuva job Huckabee!

Yes and that is where he needs to stay. A person with his views has no business running for pres.

  15. had enough Says:

But on the other hand let Huck win the primary.... the things we could do with his statement about wives graciously submitting to their husband. What woman in their right mind would vote for that? And I am sure there are some comments from him to be found also degrading the minority population.

  16. JPV Says:

So in other words, he thinks that Bush is wrong about the war in Iraq, but he would do the exact same thing.

    Hmmm...

  17. JPV Says:

Almost as if he wants to have his cake and eat it to.

    Imagine that...

  18. JPV Says:

Funny how the regular trolls disappear after business hours.

  19. RUCerious Says:

Arrogant faith based Archie Bunker mentality for sale at Huckster.com.

Oh, Krikey , JPV, you jinxed it for sure, watch the cockroaches come crawling out of the internets...

  21. Zooey Says:

Lordy, my post for TheZoo on Huck keeps getting longer and longer everyday. At some point, I'm going to have to just run the damn thing, and update every week. :-D

  22. pete Says:

A thirty second "Googling" should be enough to convince anyone the Huckster is not fit to be President. His own web site is the scariest of the bunch.

I hope you have something planned for the other 9 and a half seconds.

  24. Lefty Patriot Says:

huckabee is another two-faced repuke hypocrite, without a moral center of any kind. another traitor, like all republicans.

  25. Oval12345678 aka James K. Sayre Says:

He seems to be airing a slight disdain about the mentality, but He just loves that neato WH bunker...

Unfortunately, as the old Oklahoma musical song goes, bunker and mentality go together like a... well, anyway, they go together, in any case, as far as Republican Presidents go...

  26. DallasNE Says:

Let me see. If Huckabee is critical of the "bunker mentality" of the Bush administration then completely supports those policies then Huckabee opens himself up to charges that he likewise has a bunker mentality. You can't distance yourself from a policy by endorsing that very same policy.
