JT, as we sit here today, Repubs in Senate have staged 57 separate filibusters and are on a course to set historical records for the number of filibusters in a single session. And, the Dems DID pass the vast majority of 9-11 commission suggestions into law which is 100% better than Repubs did when they were in control, so I'm not sure where you get your so-called "facts."

#20, you are wrong.

Congress did not "pass into the law the recommendations of the 9-11 commission" as you stated. See this link:

http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2007/07/congress_ignores_major_911_com.asp

The filibusters that you mentioned were actually the work of Dems who refused to take up or down votes on judicial nominees, many of whom were vetted by the Dems' poster-child organization, the American Trial Lawyers Association. Many agree that the refusal to conduct such votes is in blatant disregard to the appointment powers of Congress as outlined in the Constitution.

Go back and do your research and quit posting points that have no factual basis.

As Lewis Black noted, it would take a full year to describe the misdeeds of the Bush administration, and that's just in 2007!

They should've stretched it to the "Top 25" - that would still only cover half the total list, but it would've given a clearer impression of just how corrupt and scandalous the reign of the neocons has been.

Somehow, JT forgot to mention that congress passed into the law the recommendations of the 9-11 commission which should be important to him. The historically high 57 filibusters waged by repubs also slipped his mind as did Bush's 7 vetos. JT, there are herbal suppliments now available which claim to help memory. Maybe you should look into them.

Lefty, great point. But the Dems in Congress could, say, could just keep passing what the people want and let the repukes go on record as the obstructionist they are, instead of caving, caving, caving, caving...etc.

This is truly a scandal–a do-nothing Congress!

Comment by JT — December 17, 2007 @ 10:57 am

well, it's left-over from the GOP treason congress, and the GOP traitors are still fighting tooth and nail against the American people. GOP is an obstructionist, America-hating organization that needs to be destroyed and buried, immediately, and their leaders tried and jailed. Then the country can move forward again. Blaming the slight Democratic majority for the GOP treason is typical rightwing reframing and lying; not at all surprising from the cowards on the right.

The first step to healing is admitting your mistake. Thank you. Don't vote for Hillary unless you want to find yourself writing the same post two years from now.

The topic ethics scandal is not on CREW's list.

The Corporate Media refusing to report on the loss of Civil Liberties of Americans is the #1 ethics scandal, by far.

We've lost almost every Civil Right we had and the corporate media reported none of it. They are complicit in this crime.

The 4th amendment is on the line TODAY. We will lose it too unless other Democrats, namely Hillary and Barack, join him. This FISA bill must be stopped.

Dems say they will make "sweeping changes" when they take over Congress. Here's what they actually did:

An increase in the federal minimum wage, to $5.85 an hour from $5.15, effective July 24, 2007.

An increase in the federal minimum wage, to $6.55 an hour from $5.85, effective July 24, 2008.

An increase in the federal minimum wage, to $7.25 an hour from $6.55, effective July 24, 2009.

That's it. Other than that, the Democrats have failed at everything they have attempted, from routine matters like relief from the Alternative Minimum Tax which affects middle class taxpayers to ambitious projects such as turning Iraq into a haven for al Qaeda.

An increase in the federal minimum wage, to $7.25 an hour from $6.55, effective July 24, 2009.

That’s it. Other than that, the Democrats have failed at everything they have attempted, from routine matters like relief from the Alternative Minimum Tax which affects middle class taxpayers to ambitious projects such as turning Iraq into a haven for al Qaeda.

This is truly a scandal–a do-nothing Congress!

Come on. The Craig vs Vitter double-standard (whilst a valid - and amusing - point about GOP hypocrisy) is chickenfeed compared to the numerous Blackwater scandals which State has seemingly made little effort to resolve.
