OK. Now I've gone through and flagged people. Alot of right-wing trolls got the red flag clicked. Twice I wished there was a red thumbs-down to click on Charles Napier's posts...honestly I think most of what he says should be in the negatives on that recommend button. And...Republicans Hate Facts picked up a few flags himself.

Alot of 'concern troll' calling. I hope my history on the board insulates me from that, but if it doesn't I'm not really that concerned -- think what you will.

Gummitch's way of destroying the troll is how I think everyone should handle it. No stooping to their level and insulting their wives, real or otherwise. An even better way? Flag him off the board. Read the Terms of Use, and if someone like Frank M or Charles N steps over the line, flag his ass. If they just spout on-topic but already disproven BS, ignore them. Eventually they'll tire and go away.

As for Gonzales, my only comment is 'Tell me something I don't already know.'

Wow. There's alot of posts on this thread that are flag worthy, and some by the progressive side at that. Hint: If you have to insult someone's relatives to make your point, STOP...and think what you are doing.

ARN, you really need to lay off the caffeine. We all know Bush is a criminal, YOU DON'T NEED TO SCREAM IT OUT. Lay off the bold, and everyone calm your selves down. Passing out flags where they belong.

You spent so much time typing that long-winded post to smear everyone in the planet you don't like, I would think at some point it would have dawned on you how paranoid you'd sound.

Better check under your bed; there might be some Communists, Muslims, or (gasp!) both hiding in there....

chuckles, inventing US enemies is a long-standing hobby of the wingnut brigade. Castro and Chavez were never America's enemies; the fact that they have a point of view, based on the various crimes committed against their countries by our country, that may disagree with your Nazi lockstep Sig Heil worship of modern fascism doesn't make them our enemies, although it makes you less than friendly to the USA. Get over yourself, you're just not very important.

And that's the nub of it. Since the USSR folded, these types haven't had a real enemy to demonize. The muslims don't present the same magnitude or type of threat, so the right resorts to favorite slurs of a bygone era. Pity them for their nostalgic need. With their ideology in shreds, and the worst military blunder in American history delivered to their collective doorsteps, this type of rhetoric is to be expected.

You need help…

godd*mn right he does. Although that last longwinded attempt at painting anyone left of "kill 'em all, and let god sort 'em out" is pretty telling in how deep his "crazy" goes.

Throughout the ’70’s and ’80’s Leftists supported various Communist regimes and rebel groups in Central and South America from the Sandinistas to the FMLN. For decades Left wing movie stars have been making the hajj to Havana to meet with (and praise Castro) and denounce Reagan and other Republican Presidents while on foreign soil…Robert Redford once said that Castro was the greatest man he’d ever met.

You know, Chuckie. You're not really hitting your mark on this sales pitch. I understand why the 37% thread really stung so sharply. You're not doing your job. Or the job your doing isn't doing squat.

That's got to hurt. 63% are on to your game.
Now what?

Jean Paul Sartre and Pablo Picasso were not American citizens, so I am baffled that you should even mention them in your black list of leftist who support "America's enemies". I didn't realize foreign citizens were supposed to also pledge allegiance to the US.

Once again: When someone’s first post in a thread is “the left has always supported America’s enemies” their clear goal is not to “debate”, but to insult, harass and annoy, regardless of the level of their writing.

Comment by Gregor Samsa
-------------------------------------------------------------

I did not say Democrats or Liberals, I said the Left.

Leftists have supported Americas enemies for nearly the 100 years. Not all Leftists, but most.

Off the top of my head:

In the early 20th century people such as Jack London and Ema Goldman, to name but two of many, supported the Bolshevik revolution and Vladimir Lenin.

During the 1930's and 1940's Stalin had many supporters amongst intellectuals and artists. Jean Paul Sartre and Bertrand Russell come to mind. In fact Sartre continued to voice his support for Stalin even after the extent of his crimes became known. He also supported Kim il Sung during the Korean war and Ho Chi Min during Vietnam. Sartre remains to this day a hero of the Left.

In the 1950's many artists were members of the Communist Party, from Picasso to Paul Robeson. Paul Robeson was so enthralled by the USSR that he packed his bags and moved there, renouncing the US forever.

In the 1960's support for Che Guevara and Fidel Castro was commonplace among the Left. The Huffington Posts own Robert Scheerer who was the editor of Ramparts Magazine at the time was an extremely vocal supporter of Castro and Ho Chi Min. It was also fashionable in the 1960's to voice support for Mao, one of history's great murders. His Little Red Book was best seller.

Throughout the '70's and '80's Leftists supported various Communist regimes and rebel groups in Central and South America from the Sandinistas to the FMLN. For decades Left wing movie stars have been making the hajj to Havana to meet with (and praise Castro) and denounce Reagan and other Republican Presidents while on foreign soil...Robert Redford once said that Castro was the greatest man he'd ever met.

This type of love affair with America's enemies goes right up to this day with people such as Cindy Sheehan and Media Benjamin making pilgrimages to Venezuela to meet with another America-hater, Hugo Chavez.

Since 9/11 the Kaffiyeh has become a trendy fashion accessory on every college campus around the world.

Just look at the pictures from the last large anti-war protests and you'll see every kind of deranged anti-Americanism imaginable...

The Left has not supported all of America's enemies, just the Leftist ones...and that's a fact.

Once again: When someone’s first post in a thread is “the left has always supported America’s enemies” their clear goal is not to “debate”, but to insult, harass and annoy, regardless of the level of their writing.

Comment by Gregor Samsa
————————————————————-

I did not say Democrats or Liberals, I said the Left.

Leftists have supported Americas enemies for nearly the 100 years. Not all Leftists, but most.

Off the top of my head:

In the early 20th century people such as Jack London and Ema Goldman, to name but two of many, supported the Bolshevik revolution and Vladimir Lenin.

During the 1930’s and 1940’s Stalin had many supporters amongst intellectuals and artists.

In the 1950’s many artists were members of the Communist Party, from Picasso to Paul Robeson. Paul Robeson was so enthralled by the USSR that he packed his bags and moved there, renouncing the US forever.

In the 1960’s support for Che Guevara and Fidel Castro was commonplace among the Left. The Huffington Posts own Robert Scheerer who was the editor of Ramparts Magazine at the time was an extremely vocal supporter of Castro and Ho Chi Min. It was also fashionable in the 1960’s to voice support for Mao, one of history’s great murders. His Little Red Book was best seller.

This type of love affair with America’s enemies goes right up to this day with people such as Cindy Sheehan and Media Benjamin making pilgrimages to Venezuela to meet with another America-hater, Hugo Chavez.

Since 9/11 the Kaffiyeh has become a trendy fashion accessory on every college campus around the world.

Just look at the pictures from the last large anti-war protests and you’ll see every kind of deranged anti-Americanism imaginable…

Its really a shame that liberals don’t respect their fellow students enough to be able to listen to invited speakers and make up their own minds.

They'd probably listen if Gonzo wanted to talk for FREE. You want them to pay somebody who can't remember any details to speak about what?

justasking the first time I saw you here you were jumping all over jpark for no reason that anybody could see. Obviously you're not new around here. Apparently you got your butt kicked one too many times as a flat out troll and decided to show up here as a concern troll. Talking about your opinions on our behavior and definitely OFF TOPIC.

ts typical that liberals try to shout down speakers who they disagree with. This rude behavior is celebrated in the leftist community. Its really a shame that liberals don’t respect their fellow students enough to be able to listen to invited speakers and make up their own minds.

it's typical that rightists are too cowardly to invite liberals to speak, because the liberals will devastate the "arguments" of the right every time. If conservatives get shouted down, they should consider themselves very lucky that they're escaping with their heads still on. Treason doesn't sit well with liberals, even though conservatives are quite comfortable committing it as a matter of course.

She is not half-literate and she will insult at she pleases. Do you remember the question you asked or not?

Bottom line is, nobody is keeping you here against your will. If you don't like the tonic of the comments you are free to take your business elsewhere.

Don't forget to take your preachy attitude with you...
