did women choose to be women when they were denied the right to vote?
Did African-Americans choose their skin color when they denied them the right to vote, were forced to attend separate “but equal” schools, could not sit in the front of the bus?

The wingnut argument that homosexuality is a choice, a deviant “lifestyle” and that this is the reason to deny them marriage or the right not to be fired by their employers quickly falls apart when you look at their history of denying rights. It is a convenient excuse to oppress another marginalized group in our society.

And what makes you say that? His apparent libertarianism I suppose. But underneath that he remains as Religious as the rest of the majority of Republicans.

Gay and Lesbian Adoption: Ron Paul voted to support a ban of gay adoptions in Washington, DC in 1999.

Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell: Ron Paul supports keeping the military ban on gays and lesbians. He said, “I think the current policy is a decent policy.”

Watch out for Ron Paul. One has to look beyond his supporters to find out his true colors. He just might not be all that great.

Exactly why do you think the founding fathers left you this choice? Do you have some authority for this statement?

Celibacy? (like Catholic priests)

Hetero marriage (like Larry Craig)?

This guy is in no way qualified to lead anything other than a Southern Baptist church in Arkansas. Then again, Bush was elected for the same reasons Huckabee is trying to get elected, and it worked! The question is, will we make the same mistake twice?

I am gay and of course each individual behavior and action follows a choice, whether you take 1/1000 th of a second or 2 hours to make the decision.

Every time I have “acted” gay has followed the choice to do so, but I have a right to that choice since I am American. The founding fathers left a legacy that includes my choice to have gay sex, talk about my partner to my friends, listen to gay music, go to gay clubs (if I want to), bake chocolate chiffon cakes, wear plaid shirts with cutoffs, etc.

So screw you Huckleberry. I do make a choice and its my right. You have no business taking those choices away from me. Get the hell out of my American life. Ron Paul 2008!

A couple of observations about sodomy and “traditional family structure”:

1) Heterosexuals haven’t exactly revered and respected the institution of marriage. About half of all heterosexual marriages in this country end in divorce. About half of all American children spend (or will spend) at least part of their years living in a single-parent family.

2) Heterosexual marriage is being regarded as less and less necessary to having children.

3) Sodomy has been known to occur in heterosexual relationships, including heterosexual marriage.

And now sodomy is the culprit responsible for destroying the traditional family structure? Give me a break.

Another large question is why does god hate giraffes?

I mean, he gave them this long, unwieldy neck that makes it hard for them to drink water from a spring, these gangly legs that make it hard for them to run, and -on top of that- he gave them “the gay”.

He must really hate giraffes too ;-)
