Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee is scheduled to appear on CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman on Monday, a day before the New Hampshire primary. Earlier this week Huckabee was a guest on Jay Leno’s Tonight Show and tried to insist that he had been “unaware that he would be crossing picket lines.” He was greeted by protestors holding signs reading, “Huckabee is a scab.” Huckabee will not cross picket lines to appear with Letterman, who has reached a deal with the writers guild.
So much talk about Huck and the Rethugs. Here is the story. It will be a Democratic landslide in November no matter the Rethugs put up.
Read it and weep, trolls!

From the Group News Blog:
Total Voter Turnout (approximate)
356,000
Percentage of total vote
24.5% Obama
20.5% Edwards
19.8% Clinton
11.4% Huckabee (R)
Says it all, doesn’t it?
January 4th, 2008 at 5:06 pmhuckabee is not a scab!
he’s pus.
let him have it, dave.
January 4th, 2008 at 5:07 pmdon’t hold back!
When the Dems outdraw the Repugs by 2-1 in F’ing IOWA, the sign is pretty clear; there WILL be a new party in the WH next year.
January 4th, 2008 at 5:09 pmDave’s beard will let him have it!
January 4th, 2008 at 5:09 pmHuckabee thinks he’s amusing in the same way the chimp in chief thinks he’s amazing. He mocks everybody who says anything negative about him in the same way W does. And he’s doing it before he’s even elected.
We are not amused.
January 4th, 2008 at 5:11 pmNH has been characterized by some as a fight between Romney and McCain with Huck getting a free ride as the other two tear each other apart. He can float free above the frey being his soft laid back best, which may have him doing better than is projected by some pundits.
January 4th, 2008 at 5:17 pmI’m with Merlin. I can’t see many scenarios where the Reps don’t get DESTROYED. But, it’s not time to relax, yet. As long as there are two neocons, free to hatch their plots, the Reps will remain formidable opponents.
January 4th, 2008 at 5:22 pmAlthough I hope there is not a (R) in the WH for a very long time, one should not put too much weight into the primary voter turnout to predict the outcome of the general election. Also keep in mind that there was a repub thumb on the scale in the last two prez elections, and not nearly enough people are in jail for it.
January 4th, 2008 at 5:27 pmGeeze, more and more, Huckabee feels like Gary Cooper in Mr. Deeds Goes To Town.
January 4th, 2008 at 5:29 pmI just hope Dave asks Huck why he crossed picket lines to appear on that other late night show.

I agree. I fully expect them to pull all the stops on their Rovian dirty trick book. This time, however, as opposed to 2000 and 2004, the American public is awake and listening.
All signs point to a huge loss by Rethugs of the Independent vote. Those who were leaning Dem are now considered Dem votes. Those who were in the center are leaning Dem and even those leaning Rethug are neutral or in the center not sure what they want to do. So there has been a marked shift to the left by Independents it appears, thanks to BushCo and its disastrous 7 years.
But this is just my take, and I am usually embarrassed by my predictions.
January 4th, 2008 at 5:41 pmHe won’t even make the top 100.
January 4th, 2008 at 5:52 pmMerlin, I agree with you, it seems the winds of change are blowing. I just hope that you guys don’t screw this up. Can’t caucus here in Colorado thanks to that ‘I’ next to my name.
I’m keeping my eyes on everything. I am hopeful that the nearly 2×1 ratio of Democratic voters to Republican voters in Iowa says they’ve had enough.
January 4th, 2008 at 5:57 pmI was listening to my mother reminisce about past elections, and how frightening it is to have such a constant barrage of Republican candidates attempt to prove their religious worth. Though religion was just as important to Americans in the past, it has become an insanely distorted contest, like boys with rulers in high school. Huckabee disgusts me, and his either genuine guise or portrayal of the idiot is – as Shayne pointed out – so Bushesque it makes me vomit in my mouth. The Constitution has its flaws, but it will be a very dangerous day when Americans allow their fear to destroy the separation of church and state.
January 4th, 2008 at 6:10 pmDennis Kucinich and Ron Paul on TV TONIGHT!
Cleveland Democratic congressman/presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich will be a guest tonight on the PBS show “Bill Moyers Journal,†along with Texas GOP congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul.
The topic will be one of Kucinich’s favorites: “the media’s power to benefit some candidates and disadvantage others.â€
The show is on at 9pm eastern, 8pm central.
January 4th, 2008 at 6:13 pmHuck on Letterman: “what day is it? what planet is this? what war? and ‘when did you grow a beard Mr. Leno?’
January 4th, 2008 at 6:18 pmLetterman could have a lot of fun with Cluck.
January 4th, 2008 at 6:28 pmAsk him anything about Britney.
Fox News is America’s loss.
January 4th, 2008 at 7:36 pmI’d love to see Letterman rip Huckabee a new one. He’ll make us laugh while he does it and Huck won’t know what hit him.
January 4th, 2008 at 7:37 pmMake sure he brings Mrs. Upchuckle, and that she wears the zebra coat……………….
January 4th, 2008 at 7:39 pmLetterman should let all of his writers come out on stage and each one read there own Top 10 list of why Huckleberry SUCKS as an American in general.
January 4th, 2008 at 7:50 pmTo sum it up with Huckleberry…would you elect the bass player in the band to POTUS?? Not, not, not, ever, ever, ever!!!!
Shjt! He’s dumber than GW Botch!!! He’s leading because he has the idiot, Christianista, sheeple supporting him. And the sheeple are running from the flock which explains his overall poor showing amoung all candidates!!!
2008 is death for RePugniScums!!!
January 4th, 2008 at 8:00 pmIowa is just one liberal, Democrat state.
Comment by good_golly — January 4, 2008 @ 9:23 pm
Ha, ha, ha. You haven’t spent much time in Iowa. Have you? Iowa is neither “liberal” nor “Democratic”. Other than that your dead wrong.
January 4th, 2008 at 9:37 pmI don’t think there is any real populism going on with the Huckabee campaign. Today’s Huckabee populism is yesterday’s George W. Bush fake compassionate conservatism. Huckabee will play the not too bright, but cuddly and lovable Bush character lulling Americans into ignoring the dangers of what’s going on behind the scenes with the next Cheney and Rove characters waiting in the wings to take over and continue the corruption, criminality and downright treason.
January 4th, 2008 at 10:28 pmI guess the only reason you don’t like Huckabee is because he is a Christian. I realize that hating Christians is part of what you do, but you have to agree with Huckabee on his fiscal votes in the past. He’s a big tax hiker. I figured you’d be enamored with Huck outside of that Christian-thing. Taking money from the workers and putting it in the hands of government is right at the top of your agenda, is it not?
January 4th, 2008 at 10:42 pmYeah, muckdog, him being a nasty little Rethug doesn’t have anything to do with it. I admit, his overt fake Christianity IS a turn-off though!
January 5th, 2008 at 12:58 amDid ole Huck have enough of crossing picket lines?
