Comments on: Romney: People don’t want change ‘in the White House.’

It’s pretty clear to me that Gov. Romney is stating that Iowans showed that they want change in Washington, and NOT just in the White House: That no, they don’t want another Clinton or Bush in the White House (28 years is enough, right?), but that they’re also sick of the same old faces in Washington. Huckabee and Obama are both relatively new faces on the national scene, compared to that of Clinton, Dodd, McCain, et al.

Should I watch the clip again or am I missing something?

I’m a person in America, and I most certainly do want change in the Whitehouse. I consider Romney’s statement as a blatant lie. Oh well, the candidate match websites out there put him and other republicans pretty far down on my list of appropriate candidates, so I won’t be participating in putting him into the whitehouse to maintain Bush/Cheney’s status quo of evil.

“People want change in Washington, not in the whitehouse, in Washington.”

Romney IS saying what the Think Progress blog quotes!

I’m as liberal as the rest of you, but this has got to be the WORST headline I’ve ever read, and the vast majority of the commenters have bought it completely.

If you actually WATCH the clip, Romney is pointing out that sitting Senators Clinton and McCain didn’t fare well in the Iowa Caucus, and he claims that that means people want change across ALL of Washington, not just the White House. That’s actually what he’s saying. He’s not implying that people don’t want change in the White House. That’s not at all what he said.

And he may or may not be right about that–people DO want change, but a sitting Senator actually won the Democratic Caucus, so….

When you call people names based on brain-dead misunderstanding of what they’re saying, WHO DO YOU THINK LOOKS LIKE A MORON?? When you swallow a badly written headline without thinking, you’re as bad as the worst O’Reilley or Limbaugh clone out there.

He is clearly stating Washington as a whole not just the white house. obviously everyone in the nation wants the person in the white house to change, but to even a greater degree we want the whole Washington scene to change, business can no longer go on as usual. As for all the left wing hate mongers on this site, you think a democrat will change the status quo but look at how that turned out with Pelosi and Reed. Oh they will make it all better right? Wrong, they haven’t even come close to doing all they said they would and never will, they are just as much flip floppers as anyone could be. Hillary is up for sale, Edwards is a trial lawyer so he knows how to speak to persuade for sure, and Barak is nothing more than a new face, but does he have any ability to run a country????? he hasn’t run a thing in his life that requires that kind of know. I agree in most cases. However, when a public figure makes religion a major issue, they set themselves up for criticism. And it’s hard not to poke some fun at a religion which has as many quirks as Mormonism.

Generally though, I prefer to “attack” the person rather than the religion. To do otherwise shows disrespect to good souls who practice a particular Faith and is in poor taste.

Besides which, their are plenty of reasons to “attack” various candidates without taking notice of their Faith.
