#260 I honestly only see a couple posters make conspircay claims involving the adminsitrations involvement in 911. Name some names, bring out the details...The only person I knwo who has made these claims in public is a local county board member and our county board was 100% republican at the time. I truely believe that more people here simply view Bush and his administration as being criminally negligent on and before 911 (as well as since) than there are people who think bush & co had a hand in 911.

#256 thaere are not many here who think Bush was involved in the events of 911. There are a couple, that's it. What many here feel is that Bush and his administration were entirely incompetant on 911. Since 911 they have proven themselves incompetant in every possible manner so by extention I would have to say that they were incompetant on 911 and all the days before it too.

Also as to the case being compellig or not is irrelvant because the adminsitration has not cooperated. Remeber in the days after 911 Bush was adamant that no investigation occur. Remember that this is th emost secretive adminsitration ever. How on earth would one uncover the truth when there is no way that the adminsitration would ever do anything but testify not under oath and not without constantly exerting their phony executive privledge claims? If Obama or any other dem wins I hope you and all the republicans maintain the consistent stance that the president can do no wrong. I for one will be more than willing to hold whomever the next president is accountable for his actions. I fully expect you and your kind to not do so.

Umm, Pat, as a minister you of all people should know that everything that occurs on earth occurs for a reason and is all part of god's plan. So I have to ask you, why on earth do you not like gods plan? Do you hate god so much that you disapprove of his actions? Or do you not really believe and you are playing your political hunches? I'll go with the second choice.

This idiot is a travesty to the Christain religion. He is not a typical Christain by any means, nor is he a typical preacher.

Robertson is mentally unhinged. He is in serious need of psychiatric counseling. Whatever God he talks to might also need some help.

But, if I’m so crazy, why won’t anyone pursue it?

Do you really not see why someone would refuse to pursue it? I can't believe your imagination is THAT limited, Cap'n.

Personally, I'm not willing to say that anyone in the administration had any active role in the attacks.

But when I saw the footage of Bush siting like a deer in the headlights with "The Pet Goat" on his lap, he had exactly the look that someone might have if they were told rumors of something big in the works and then, when something big happened, said to himself "Oh shit. They really did it."

I'm just sayin'.

And this administration hasn't built up a ton of credibility over the past seven years.

Crazy, and stupid. You're the perfect republican tool. All the evidence has been carted out of the country and destroyed, and the foxes are still in charge of the henhouse. Where are the videotapes from any of the 80 cameras trained on the Pentagon, showing a giant jetliner crashing into the place and leaving a tiny hole? That's just one of a thousand unanswered questions that only show the intelligent here that something is being hidden, and somebody is lying. You can buy the obvious lies of abvious liars if you like, but it makes you a Good german, instead of a good American citizen, who has paid for, and deserves, answers to these questions.

If you read this post, agree that Bush didn’t know, and are unwilling to step up to the plate and say it.

I could be wrong. Explain it to me.

Comment by CaptainMantastic — January 5, 2008 @ 8:15 pm

Bush may or may not have known anything at that time. He was clueless, and losing his support rapidly. He was on his way to one forgettable failure of a term. Cheney is most likely the culprit in keeping Bush ignorant, as well as in essentially turning off our air defenses on 9/11. Anybody who thinks 19 Arabs in hijacked airliners could do the damage they did with no inside help is truly crazy.

Religion, in and of itself, isn't the problem. The problem is the use of religion, by powerful people, as a tool of manipulation. Generally, it's benign. But, when hateful (bleep)s like Patsy gain a following, there is a real possibility of "good" people being manipulated to do "bad" things. Many, many, people simply don't have the strength, or resolve, to think for themselves. Those are the ones a predatory preacher, like Patsy, can influence.

Humans have always been susceptible to "charismatic leaders". Most people simply don't bother examining the motives of those who tell them what they want to hear. And religions become a powerful political tool when they fall into the "wrong hands".

We live in a time where charismatic leaders have learned to use the, relatively new, methods of mass communication faster than society has built up a defense. Thus was born the "religious right".But? There is some encouraging news.

While the religious right has drawn together, they have taken up a militant dogma that, to all appearances, is losing it's appeal. And, by voting for their chosen religious figures, they marginalize themselves. Reagan gave them a voice. Bush 41 gave them power. Bush 43 let them display their ineptitude. And Huck may reduce them to the level of a bad joke.

The Iowa caucus is a prime example. The hardcore evangelicons gave Huck his "win". But the "non-religious non-right" showed up in record numbers and made his "win" insignificant. The fact of the matter is that most people aren't fanatics, and don't like fanatics. And? I think Iowa was just the first blow. The first of many blows which will kick the fanatics back to the fringes of political power.

What I think is significant is that Robertson says that god told him the next President would be a Democrat. That pretty much says that Robertson thinks that the next President will be a Democrat. He sees the handwriting on the wall.

I knew the next president would be a Democrat, and god never talks to me.

bilbo. It’s interesting that I went and found some information that describes democrat support for 9/11 conspiracy as (what I believe is)unreasonably high. And then you find info that shows it even higher, not content with my link. My goal is not to derail this thread. I just find it interesting how different we see the issue.

Your linked article makes no attempt to define what they mean by "Bush knowing about the attacks in advance", there is no definition of what question was being answered, and no clarification of anything that would equate to "9/11 conspiracy". It could just as easily mean that Bush had been briefed in advance about Al Qaeda operations, including the possibility of using airplanes as weapons. Do you question that?

Many adults in the United States believe the current federal government has not been completely forthcoming on the issue of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, according to a poll by the New York Times and CBS News. 53 per cent of respondents think the Bush administration is hiding something, and 28 per cent believe it is lying.

Only 16 per cent of respondents say the government headed by U.S. president George W. Bush is telling the truth on what it knew prior to the terrorist attacks, down five points since May 2002.

If only 16 percent say the government is telling the truth, that means that 84% think that Bush may be covering up something. That directly contradicts your link troll.

What I think is significant is that Robertson says that god told him the next President would be a Democrat. That pretty much says that Robertson thinks that the next President will be a Democrat. He sees the handwriting on the wall.

In the next iteration of the Consitution please include:
Freedom to practice any religion one chooses, but society does not have to foot the bill for its existance. Therefore, ALL religions are to be considered entertainment, with appropriate levels of taxation. They are exactly like entertainment.
You get to see a show of nothing but a story, with supposed magic happening. There is no conferment of any good, besides the good feeling one gets from going to a show. Or going to a concert, and singing in your seat.
Religion equals entertainment
Tax it all

My favorite bit of Robertsonia is that he believes that Satan was not really cast out of Heaven until pretty recently--because of course in the Book of Job Satan was sitting around heaven playing celestial chicken with Yahweh.
(Does anybody believe that Job was an historical character?)
But sometime after that Satan got chucked out for good--ol' Pat just can't say when.
The clown makes up his religion as he goes along.

After the Bushies have killed all the workers due to lack of regulations (including miners, janitors, factory workers) and deported all the Mexicans and sent your own job to India or China, maybe, just maybe you will wake up that they hate Americans. How's that endless war for the profits of the contractors working out for you?
