*) That Clinton had some emotion is entirely reasonable. Her statement was entirely reasonable. it may deflect some of the criticism against her of being somewhat cold.

*) Therefore, there isn’t a lot of risk in another politician saying that her emotion was reasonable.

*) By his statement, the Ghool actually had a no-risk way of humanizing himself. At the same time, he took the spotlight off from Clinton and put it squarely on himself.

Possibly a calculated and good move ?

I’m sure he’d be wonderful at that – just imagine all the things he would accomplish – put the emergency response headquarters in a blatant target, streamline communications among first responders, and discuss strategy with his mistresses while kanoodling in the emer response HQ… He’d especially make sure it happened on a different day of the year – isnt that what he (and you) mean by ‘9-11 never again’?

Seriously though, I’m sure that what I said in my post is nothing more than common sense, really — what a lot of people are thinking about Giuliani and his transparent attempts to capitalize on a tragic event which, had it not happened, would have resulted in Giuliani remaining as obscure as other American mayors.

Unfortunately, in order to stay relevant, Rudy has had to ratchet up fear as much as possible, and tries to constantly remind us of A) what a “hero” he is, and B) how we must always be afraid of scary brown people.

The fear of terrorism is proving to be much more harmful to our society than terrorism itself — just as the fear of Communism was in Joe McCarthy’s day.

And another point — Hillary should be happy that Giuliani is obligingly making himself look more foolish than she has.
