All of the domestic government duties you list can just as easily be done by state government. Public schools, minimum wages – why not have every state decide for themselves what’s right. Minimum wage of $8 an hour may be just fine in Montana, but pitifully low in Connecticut.

I like Ron Paul, a lot, and as a former Democrat, I’m going to vote for him.

Hopefully, if a Democrat were debating Paul, he/she would ask him to explain why he want to repeal the following laws:

Civil Rights Law
Antitrust Law
All Labor Law (including child labor law)
Environmental Protection Law

Also, he could be asked why he wants to abolish such things as:

Public Roads
Public Transportation
Fire Departments
Public Schools
National, State, and Local Parks
Public Beaches
Public Waterways
Minimum Wages
Social Security
School Lunches
Medicare
Medicaid
Head Start
Food Stamps
Housing Assistance ect.

Paul’s position is difficult to understand if you think that there is a connection between what he wants government to do, and what he believes individuals should do.

What he believes is that government can not fix moral problems and that he should not foist his moral responsibilities on others using the government.

To imagine how absurd this is, remember that Larry Craig favored anti-gay laws, and Bill Clinton was a supporter of sexual Harassment laws.

Paul is the only candidate in either party who wants to shut down the entire American overseas political and military Empire.

The Democrats claim to be against the Iraq war yet during the Hanover, NH debate, “The three leading Democratic presidential candidates refused on Wednesday night to promise that they would withdraw all American troops from Iraq by the end of their first term, saying in a televised debate here that they could not predict the future challenges in Iraq.”

Paul would immediately withdraw all US forces from Iraq.

The Republicans claim to want small limited government, but the size and scope of it has grown considerably under Bush and Cheney.

Paul would dramatically decrease the size and scope of the government. He would pardon all non-violent drug offenders, eliminate the Departments of Education, Commerce, Energy and Homeland Security, get rid of corporate and agricultural subsidies, foreign aid, and a host of other programs.

I have seen that video of Kucinich. While I find it admirable that he would fill his cabinet with people who disagree with him (as did Lincoln), I think it would be a mistake to pick someone who is such an extremist for Vice President.

Ron Paul is trying so hard to stand up for all of us and his message is very important.
