John Gibson Celebrates Increase In ‘Anglo’ Birth Rate, Asks ‘Do You Still Think I’m A Racist?’
In May 2006, Fox News host John Gibson sparked controversy when he claimed on air that “twenty-five years and the majority of the population is Hispanic” because “Hispanics are having more kids than others” and “white people are having fewer.” Worried about the demographic shift in America, Gibson urged his audience to “do your duty. Make more babies.”
On his radio show yesterday, Gibson returned to the controversy, touting an Associated Press article about the “baby boomlet” in the U.S. in 2006 as vindication for his call that “the dominant, or largest, population sector, which is Caucasians” should “make more babies.” Declaring “I was right,” Gibson celebrated the increased birth rate of “non-Hispanic white women”:
“The nearly 4.3 million births in 2006 were mostly due to a bigger population, especially a growing number of Hispanics. That group accounted for nearly one-quarter of all U.S. births.” As you can tell, Hispanics are doing the hard work of child raising. “But non-Hispanic white women and other racial and ethnic groups were” also “having more babies, too.” A big round of applause for all of you out there having those babies.
Claiming that “people were following my advice,” Gibson exclaimed that he was “not only right,” but “prescient” and that it was time for “a John Gibson victory lap.” Listen to it:
Gibson also complained about his critics who called him a “racist” for his May 2006 comments. “I was simply saying look what happened in Europe,” said Gibson. Immigrants “having kids like crazy” meant “England wasn’t looking so British anymore” because “Anglos” and “selfish white people weren’t going through the hard work of having babies.”
Demonstrating a lack of self-awareness, Gibson closed the segment by asking his “drooling left wing” critics if they “still think I’m a racist.”

GIBSON: It is John Gibson, I’m gonna go get’ em. Now, this half hour we’re going to deal with an issue that got me in trouble, but as you all know, I enjoy skating on thin ice. It’s what I do for a living. And so I’m going to reprise this dark moment in Gibson’s past because it came up in the news today and it appears I was right. And that people, not only was I right, but that people were following my advice. My advice was that demographic studies showed that the United States birthrate is lagging among the dominant, or largest, population sector, which is Caucasians. Hispanics are having a lot of babies, African-Americans were having a fair number of babies, but whites in America were just barely keeping above the replenishment level of the population. And I was trying to warn people that this phenomena had gone on in Europe, where the native population, the Anglos, if you will to use the phrase from Southern California, were just not having kids. And the immigrants, often labor immigrants from Muslim lands, were having kids like crazy. And all of a sudden, you know, England wasn’t looking so British anymore. And Germany wasn’t looking so German anymore. And Russia was having a real problem because, to put it bluntly, selfish white people weren’t going through the hard work of having babies. And so I, in a tongue in cheek way, you know, did this thing on “My Word” at the end of the TV show about make more babies, and it concluded this way:
TV CLIP: And it won’t be here either if that should happen. To put it bluntly, we need more babies. Forget about that zero population growth stuff that my poor generation was misled on. Why is this important? Because civilizations need population to survive. So far, we are doing our part here in America but Hispanics can’t carry the whole load. The rest of you, get busy. Make babies, or put another way — a slogan for our times: “procreation not recreation.” That’s “My Word.”
GIBSON: Ok, that set off a storm of protest that continues unto this day.
ANNOUNCER: Gibson is a racist.
GIBSON: I regularly get called out by Media Matters for America, the Huffington Post, some of those lefties. I don’t know if the Daily Kos has done it lately, regularly called out. And of course that slobbering twit, who just barely gets out of the bathtub enough in time to go to his show, who calls me a racist.
CLIP OF KEITH OLBERMANN: Ok, so if there were any doubts, John Gibson: racist.
GIBSON: And, all of which, was a whole quote cropping exercise to make me sound like a racist, when I was simply saying look what happened in Europe, we don’t want that to happen here. Now, in other words, get busy. You know, a little peanut butter smear on the leather seats of the BMW is not such a bad thing. Go ahead and have kids. So anyway, today, it turns out the AP medical writer Mike Stobbe — I hold his report in my hand, let me prove it to you — says I was right. In fact, he said “Gibson was right.”
ANNOUNCER: Oh yeah, Gibson was right. Oh yeah. Again. Can you feel that, buddy? huh? huh? huh?
GIBSON: Huh? “Bucking the trend in many other wealthy industrialized nations,” by which he means Europe, Mike Stobbe writes, “the United States seems to be experiencing a baby boom,” in that we are “reporting the largest number of children born in 45 years.” That is a John Gibson victory lap.
ANNOUNCER: Start your engines. The John Gibson victory lap.
GIBSON: “The nearly 4.3 million births in 2006,” and — by the way — My Word was May 2006, so I was not only right, I was prescient, I was right on time.
ANGRY RICH: You’re like an aphrodisiac, John.
FEMALE COMMENTATOR: Ooh la la.
GIBSON: I wouldn’t say that.
ANGRY RICH: Spanish fly, that’s what you are, buddy.
GIBSON: Angry Rich, that would be going a little too far.
ANGRY RICH: They got busy.
GIBSON: Well, I encourage that.
FEMALE COMMENTATOR: What you doing?
GIBSON: Procreation, not recreation
FEMALE COMMENTATOR: Hey shorty.
GIBSON: You got that stuff for a reason, put it to good use. “The nearly 4.3 million births in 2006 were mostly due to a bigger population, especially a growing number of Hispanics. Wow — I had NO idea that all those white couples who have had babies recently were procreating as a direct result of John Gibson’s plea! Perhaps Gibson will have a few of these couples on his show sometime. I can just imagine the interviews now — “well, we really weren’t sure about whether or not we wanted children, but we recognized our duty when you mentioned it, John!” or “as soon as you described the dire need to have white babies, I threw my diaphragm in the trash!” or “we were proud to do our bit to keep our race from being taken over — I wish more white couples would appreciate this threat and have more children!”

I was excited to vote in 2006. A democratic takeover of congress gave me hope that a relief package (or as the bigots call it, amnesty) would be approved for the new immigrants to America. Yet no package has been approved, roundups continue, and we’re without our documents and without justice. In case you missed the obvious, John Gibson wasn’t merely congratulating people for having babies. He was congratulating WHITE people for upping their birth rate in order to combat the birth rate of Hispanics — since his greatest fear is reducing the white majority in this country.

I do disagree that the world needs to be more populated, but if it’s only white people who are practicing birth control and population control, then it’s no use; everyone has to be on the same page for population control to work. With the resources on this planet being limited, it’s a good idea to control the population; however so many people are ignorant of this or just don’t care.

By the way, I think fox news is awful, and a toxic influence on our society….but we need freedom of speech!
I’m all for civil behavior and civil discussion, but I must admit that when I see this guy I just want to sucker punch him - a haymaker right to the face. He’s just such an a-hole.

January 17th, 2008 at 8:58 pmBy the way, after speaking to my friend in England the other day, he voiced the opinion that he’s very upset about the mass immigration to England since it became a member of the EEC. It seems that once a member of the EEC, anyone within that organization can go to work and live in any of the countries without much trouble. People are flocking to England for employment. So, there is discontent in England too on the immigration issue and how it’s changing that country. Not everyone is embracing the “cultural and ethnic diversity” that is growing there.

The Treaty of Schengen (”open borders”) affects everybody. It increases understanding between the diverse populations of Europe and a greater unity. Is a good thing, because allows a greater liberty and better opportunities for everybody.
But perhaps your friend is upset because now aren’t only the affluent British (speaking here of strongness of currency) the ones who can travel all around Europe, acting like snobs.
But if you want a racist view that you can comprehend, I could say that a lot people in Spain is tired of the british retirees who crowd the Coasts all the year, act like snobs, and don’t speak a word of Spanish, or the idiot teenagers (and not teenagers) who buy a low cost fly the fridays to Spain only to drink like mads, act like barbarian pigs, pee and vomit at our streets, and fly back to England to act as snobs, being “culturally superior to the inferior peoples of the continent”. For a reference of the last behavior, just seek for the last football game Glasgow Rangers - Barcelona. 6200 tickets were sold to Glasgow Rangers fans, but 15000 traveled to Barcelona to party at the streets, drinking, peeing, puking and breaking bottles and brawling at downtown Barcelona. A great demonstration of the superior culture of Imperial Britain.

But, of course, Americans view British (Scottish in this case) as ultra polite people who speak funny and are great poodles, and part of the “superior race”.

If you go to wal-mart, or to the visiting room of a federal prison (as I do) you will see living evidence of the impressive reproductive energy of the Hispanic segment of the population. If you listen to them speak, you wil be amazed at the “ain’t got none”, “I seen”, etc. Because many of them are victims of class war in Mexico and are uneducated, and or illiterate in one or both languages.
You can not have a huge influx of one race/culture into a nation without the flavor of the host culture changing.
To say “I would like my culture to retain it’s euro-centric roots and traditions, and linguistic heritage.” is NOT RACIST. To say the immigrants are genetically inferior IS RACIST.
To say America has enough wealth to accommodate an endless tide of economic refugees (that’s what they are) is to be willfully ignorant of the terrible economic disparities and class war here in our country that we middle class Americans face.
