Is there some reason why anyone publically threatening to bomb Iran shouldn’t be arrested as a terrorist? Just asking.

I’m sick and tired of sending out troops to get blown to pieces in the Middle East for Israel. The oil producing States in the Middle East were our friends and sold us cheap oil until America decided to support Israel’s theft of land from Palestinian Christians and Muslims. I’m sorry but if you don’t agree with what I’ve said then you’re in desperate need of a history lesson.

The irony is that Israel has built the largest concentration camp in the history of mankind for the Palestinian refugees. The Israelis are becoming just as evil if not worse than Hitler.

I’m predicting that Bush/Cheney will wait until the conventions are over to bomb Iran. If the GOP looks unlikely to win in November, Bush will start bombing Iran so he can stick the Democrat with another war and get his way once again. He’ll beat his dad in the number of wars with that one. 41 had Panama and the Gulf. 43 has Afghanistan and Iraq. One more beats dad.
He’s already told Olmert that Iran is an existential threat and that “all options are on the table.” He sucked up to the Saudis, competitors to Iran in oil and power in the middle east. They’d love it if he bombed Iran. Oil goes to $200/barrel overnight.
Expect Bush to screw things up more before he goes back to the ranch.

Relax. I am more trouble by the endless use of the phrase “drive safe” and all the other poor uses of language. It is only slander if you are so thin skinned enough to let it be. I’m completely in favor of bombing Iran right now, on one condition:

Kristol, Steyn, Hewitt, Jonah Loadpants, and especially Podhoretz all agree to strap themselves to the bunker-busters and ride them down to the targets, Slim Pickens-style. That would prove they really are patriotic Americans and not just the garden-variety chickenhawks they seem to be.

I have a sneaking suspicion the joint chiefs might resign, or some other high level military authority may ask congress to impeach, rather than carry out this madman’s orders.
The military knows what the result of such an attack would be, and I hope they know it’s their careers down the terlet if they go along.

One thing that I haven’t seen discussed is the oil supply for the rest of the world.

Assume there was strife between the US and Iran.

The Straits of Hormuz are not that large. It wouldn’t take much action around the Straits to essentially shut them down. Who would want to risk sending a tanker full of oil through the Straits while other folks were shooting at each other.

The last thing that I saw, and if I remember it correctly, about 50 percent of the world’s oil goes through the Straits.

Could you imagine the disruption to the worlds’ economies if the Straits were shut down for a few weeks?

Gee, I wonder which side all of the affected countries would fall behind?
