Following in the footsteps of fellow candidates Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney will cross a Writer’s Guild of America picket line to appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight.
UPDATE: Romney’s press secretary, Eric Fehrnstrom, told the Washington Post that “We’ve determined that the path to the White House goes through the Jay Leno show.”
will mcCAVE? ... stay tuned...
January 18th, 2008 at 1:56 pmway to go flip! how's that non-lobbyist working on your campaign going for ya?
January 18th, 2008 at 1:57 pmJay Leno is a kingmaker? Who would have guessed?
If it's true, then the country has sunken deeper into foolishness than I would have guessed.
January 18th, 2008 at 1:58 pmThe fact that Leno is so popular with GOP pols says a lot about this country, the Republican Party, and Jay Leno. None of it good about any of them.

- - And the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Since when do candidates who argue they're the most Conservative suddenly embrace the "Hollywood liberal elite"? Romney is the biggest whore of them all.
January 18th, 2008 at 2:02 pmPick a Scab, get an infection. The country has a severely compromised immune system already--we can't risk any more germs.
January 18th, 2008 at 2:03 pmand the path of revolution goes through the insurgency.

Romney will make sure he spits on the picketers as he goes by.
And, none of his campaign advisors are lobbyists! Yeah!
January 18th, 2008 at 2:06 pmMitt = SCAB
January 18th, 2008 at 2:07 pmLeno has to put all these politicians on because no real celebrities will cross the picket line to do the show.
January 18th, 2008 at 2:29 pmI'm surprised Mitt is actually crossing the picket line. Doesn't he know he could get his hair messed up? He probably doesn't realize there are actual pickets on a picket line, dumbass that he is.
January 18th, 2008 at 2:30 pmShayne:
How could he know that? The Republicans/Corporate Interests have killed Labor. No one even knows what a strike is anymore.

How insightful. I guess that means Romney AND Paul AND Huckabee will ALL be elected President, Mr. Fehrnstrom? How will that work out? Romney on Mondays through Wedensday at noon, Huckabee till Friday night and Paul during the dead weekends and holidays?
January 18th, 2008 at 2:47 pmYa Mitt! That's why all your money hasn't bought you the nomination yet. You haven't been on Leno. Once you are on there the fact that you are a Mormon, plastic, a liar and a stiff won't matter at all to the voters.
January 18th, 2008 at 2:53 pmMay be Mitt will learn something from 'Jay Walking', or loser walking .
May be J. Leno will find Romeny a girl, a Romeny girl...like Obama girl. !!
Anythings helps to beat the rising from the grave bruised McCain.
January 18th, 2008 at 2:54 pmON NOES!!!!
Crossing picket lines is horrid!! Oh wait, these poeple don't believe in a free market society and prefer communist/ Hillary style society. Since they don't want to act American, future American presidents should corss their invisible picket lines to tell Americans why they should vote for them.
January 18th, 2008 at 3:02 pmEarth to Rog
January 18th, 2008 at 3:09 pmMost of the folks I see round these parts aren't rabid Hillary lovers nor haters.
Does the American economy really need another boost in 2008? We've already got Mittens trying to buy the Republican nomination: that should happily keep the economy going until the Dems take over in January, 2009...

But apparently the path to the White House doesn't go through the labor vote. Not that the GOP has ever worried about that much.
January 18th, 2008 at 3:17 pmCozying up to his Reaganness as union buster.

I realize this is just a shotgun rant (a blast without a whole lot of precision), but could you elaborate on a few things?
1) What's "communist" about a picket line? I don't remember a whole lot of labor strikes in the Soviet Union.
2) Why do you think Hillary is a communist? Has she advocated communism? I must have missed this.
3) What do you mean by "invisible picket lines"? Whatever point you are trying to make here is mangled beyond comprehension.

... And not through the American voters...
"...What matters is who counts the votes..."
.
January 18th, 2008 at 4:12 pmI can't wait for in-touch-with-the-people Mitt to say how Jay's show is so much better than Arsenio's.
p.s.--Word on the street is that roger_roger is breaking into his personal Viagra stash to celebrate Mitt's apprearance on "Leno"
January 18th, 2008 at 4:58 pmWAIT A MINUTE! I thought Romney was going after the labor vote in Michigan to win the primary.
What's that ? The primary is over and he's won Michigan.
Never mind!
