Romney to cross WGA picket line for Leno.

Following in the footsteps of fellow candidates Mike Huckabee and Ron Paul, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney will cross a Writer’s Guild of America picket line to appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight.

UPDATE: Romney’s press secretary, Eric Fehrnstrom, told the Washington Post that “We’ve determined that the path to the White House goes through the Jay Leno show.”

Jay Leno is a kingmaker? Who would have guessed?

If it's true, then the country has sunken deeper into foolishness than I would have guessed.

  4. JimRMTZ Says:

The fact that Leno is so popular with GOP pols says a lot about this country, the Republican Party, and Jay Leno. None of it good about any of them.

    - - And the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Since when do candidates who argue they're the most Conservative suddenly embrace the "Hollywood liberal elite"? Romney is the biggest whore of them all.

Pick a Scab, get an infection. The country has a severely compromised immune system already--we can't risk any more germs.

    Mitt = SCAB

  10. Shayne Says:

Leno has to put all these politicians on because no real celebrities will cross the picket line to do the show.

  11. Shayne Says:

I'm surprised Mitt is actually crossing the picket line. Doesn't he know he could get his hair messed up? He probably doesn't realize there are actual pickets on a picket line, dumbass that he is.

  12. Frosty Cupcake Says:

    Shayne:

How could he know that? The Republicans/Corporate Interests have killed Labor. No one even knows what a strike is anymore.

How insightful. I guess that means Romney AND Paul AND Huckabee will ALL be elected President, Mr. Fehrnstrom? How will that work out? Romney on Mondays through Wedensday at noon, Huckabee till Friday night and Paul during the dead weekends and holidays?

  14. ohcomeon Says:

Ya Mitt! That's why all your money hasn't bought you the nomination yet. You haven't been on Leno. Once you are on there the fact that you are a Mormon, plastic, a liar and a stiff won't matter at all to the voters.

  15. tarazan Says:

May be Mitt will learn something from 'Jay Walking', or loser walking .
May be J. Leno will find Romeny a girl, a Romeny girl...like Obama girl. !!

Anythings helps to beat the rising from the grave bruised McCain.

    ON NOES!!!!

Crossing picket lines is horrid!! Oh wait, these poeple don't believe in a free market society and prefer communist/ Hillary style society. Since they don't want to act American, future American presidents should corss their invisible picket lines to tell Americans why they should vote for them.

Does the American economy really need another boost in 2008? We've already got Mittens trying to buy the Republican nomination: that should happily keep the economy going until the Dems take over in January, 2009...

But apparently the path to the White House doesn't go through the labor vote. Not that the GOP has ever worried about that much.

I realize this is just a shotgun rant (a blast without a whole lot of precision), but could you elaborate on a few things?

    1) What's "communist" about a picket line? I don't remember a whole lot of labor strikes in the Soviet Union.

    2) Why do you think Hillary is a communist? Has she advocated communism? I must have missed this.

    3) What do you mean by "invisible picket lines"? Whatever point you are trying to make here is mangled beyond comprehension.

... And not through the American voters...

I can't wait for in-touch-with-the-people Mitt to say how Jay's show is so much better than Arsenio's.

p.s.--Word on the street is that roger_roger is breaking into his personal Viagra stash to celebrate Mitt's apprearance on "Leno"

  24. MapleStreet Says:

WAIT A MINUTE! I thought Romney was going after the labor vote in Michigan to win the primary.

What's that ? The primary is over and he's won Michigan.

    Never mind!
