43 never had any real fight in him. He has always been a bully and a loser. Even with his Daddy's fame, money and hands on the power throttle, dubya was and is a failure. With no mind of his own and steeped in megalomania (which would seem perfect as a front for the corporate neocons) he has been a dismal failure. He couldn't even do the job right with a box on his back under his jacket!
And indeed he will be jettisoned by the corporate masters. He will IMO, get harmless, showy jobs to keep Daddy happy, who, of course, is one of the "masters." (Keep ma boy happy, will ya?)

Does it hurt your feelings, hun? Do you want to set up a schedule for me? You could put some vitamins in one of those plastic boxes with the days of the week on it, and I promise I'd take them everyday.
I am 48 years old. I have raised two sons into adulthood on my own, who manage very well on their own, thank you very much. I have contributed a fair amount to this society, and worked damn hard doing it.

I'm fairly new here so I've been giving some thought as to why these trolls exist....what is the makeup of a troll? I think now that most of them are people who basically hate themselves and are driven by a need to make others feel bad about themselves.
I have seen several posts that refer to paid trolls and probably they do exist but most of what I see from them seems to come from some something inside of them....something missing or a dark side. I doubt that they are very happy people...

Zooey, that is what trolls do. They try and find an emotional weakness and exploit it. BushCo did this extremely well. Look at the swift boating of John Kerry. It doesn't get more public and smearing than that. Right wing trolls do what ever it takes to inflame and arouse. And ruin the thread.

Then there's the polls. 60%, or so, see the "man behind the curtain" and a significant number see how utterly corrupt "the man" is. Even the monolithic "religious right" may fracture if anyone but the Huckster gets the nomination. It would take a monumental catastrophe to keep the neocons in power and, frankly, if that happened there wouldn't be much left fighting for; even for cockroaches and scorpions.

I’ve been giving some thought as to why these trolls exist….what is the makeup of a troll?
From Wiki:
An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response.
Emphasis is mine.
IMO. You can only win with a troll by
1. ignoring it
2. Not getting emotionally involved and playing with it (if you have nothing better to do with your time.)
Any other way and you lose!

My guess is that most are just immature little vandals. Before the internet they would have been egging houses, making crank calls, breaking windows, and trenching yards.
That's about it. Stunted personalities with a sick need to ridicule all that's beyond their comprehension. The intelligent exchange of ideas serves only to highlight their flaws so they seek to disrupt it. Sad huh?

Well. There you run into the whole "willingness to admit a problem" and treat it dilemma. Unfortunately, immature personalities seldom admit their faults, even to themselves. The only "cures" come from positive life experience and having an open mind. Then there's the whole "compartmentalized thinking" issue among "authoritarians".
BTW, here's a great read which pretty much explains the whole mindset, and motivation, of "authoritarians". It's rather long but well worth it.

If history has shown us one thing about Bush, it's that he thinks of himself first. In that light, there are many things that Bush will countenance -- but not a slur on his "good" name. To him, Iraq might evetually pan out. But he doesn't want his grandchildren being taught how badly the government was run on his watch. Regardless of how badly it actually was operated and overseen, if he can generate one positive act at the end of his administration, he can leave town with at least the slight hope of eventual historical vindication - and something to finally brag about.
Right now, he's got nothing.
