In a speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition of Florida this morning, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney compared individuals who consider the Israeli-Palestinian conflict central to the challenges in the Middle East to appeasers of Hitler in the 1930s.
In his remarks, Romney dismissed those who counsel diplomacy in the region — specifically the Baker-Hamilton Commission — as naively thinking “everything would be fine in the Middle East” if “we could just settle things between the Palestinians and the Israelis”:
“The consequences of that accommodation of his [Hitler's] press releases was devastating to the entire world, and most devastating to millions of Jews,” Romney said to about 200 people at a Republican Jewish Coalition of Florida function. “Today we have individuals who believe that the cause of the challenges in the Middle East is the conflict in Israel with the Palestinians, and that if somehow we could just have the Baker-Hamilton Commission imposed and we could just settle things between the Palestinians and the Israelis, why everything would be fine in the Middle East.”
Comparisons to Hitler appeasers do “not resonate with the American people.”
In 2006, after then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld compared Iraq war critics to those who believed Hitler “could be appeased,” a NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll found that 61 percent of Americans said it was “not appropriate” for the White House to compare the Iraq war to the fight against the Nazis.
Romney isn’t the first presidential candidate to make such a comparison during this election cycle. At the GOP/YouTube Debate in November, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) attacked Rep. Ron Paul’s (R-TX) call to bring “our troops home” as the “kind of attitude of isolationism and appeasement” that “allowed Hitler to come to power.”
The Republicans and their candidates are lemmings marching off a cliff.

January 22nd, 2008 at 6:10 pmWouldn’t bombing, invading and occupying be Hitlerish?
January 22nd, 2008 at 6:11 pmYeah, all those ME freaks are invading their neighbors, blitzkrieging cities, bombing them back to the stone age. Wait, that’s us…
January 22nd, 2008 at 6:11 pmThe “English-only” Romney, having pandered to Florida’s Cuban community with his Spanish-language ads, is now targeting his next voter block.
His favorite approach is to conflate all Muslims, whether friend or foe, Sunni or Shiite, guilty or innocent, into a single, undifferentiated threat:
“But I don’t want to buy into the Democratic pitch, that this is all about one person, Osama bin Laden. Because after we get him, there’s going to be another and another. This is about Shia and Sunni. This is about Hezbollah and Hamas and al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood. This is the worldwide jihadist effort to try and cause the collapse of all moderate Islamic governments and replace them with a caliphate.”
January 22nd, 2008 at 6:13 pmWho are we supposed to be appeasing?
bin Laden? Bush already did that. bin Laden had several goals in his cultural jihad:
1) get US out of Saudi Arabia
2) generate new recruits to his cause
3) entice US into a protracted, expensive, unwinnable war in the ME
Bush gave bin laden every last item on his list. Looks to me like Bush is the appeaser.

The voices of the past, on Recognizing the Unrecognizable…
“You will understand me when I say that my Middle High German was my life. It was all I cared about. I was a scholar, a specialist. Then, suddenly, I was plunged into all the new activity, as the university was drawn into the new situation; meetings, conferences, interviews, ceremonies, and, above all, papers to be filled out, reports, bibliographies, lists, questionnaires. And on top of that were the demands in the community, the things in which one had to, was ‘expected to’ participate that had not been there or had not been important before. It was all rigmarole, of course, but it consumed all one’s energies, coming on top of the work one really wanted to do. You can see how easy it was, then, not to think about fundamental things. One had no time.”
“Those,” I said, “are the words of my friend the baker. ‘One had no time to think. There was so much going on.’”
“Your friend the baker was right,” said my colleague. “The dictatorship, and the whole process of its coming into being, was above all diverting. It provided an excuse not to think for people who did not want to think anyway. I do not speak of your ‘little men,’ your baker and so on; I speak of my colleagues and myself, learned men, mind you. Most of us did not want to think about fundamental things and never had. There was no need to. Nazism gave us some dreadful, fundamental things to think about—we were decent people—and kept us so busy with continuous changes and ‘crises’ and so fascinated, yes, fascinated, by the machinations of the ‘national enemies,’ without and within, that we had no time to think about these dreadful things that were growing, little by little, all around us. Unconsciously, I suppose, we were grateful. Who wants to think?
“To live in this process is absolutely not to be able to notice it—please try to believe me—unless one has a much greater degree of political awareness, acuity, than most of us had ever had occasion to develop. Each step was so small, so inconsequential, so well explained or, on occasion, ‘regretted,’ that, unless one were detached from the whole process from the beginning, unless one understood what the whole thing was in principle, what all these ‘little measures’ that no ‘patriotic German’ could resent must some day lead to, one no more saw it developing from day to day than a farmer in his field sees the corn growing. One day it is over his head.
“And one day, too late, your principles, if you were ever sensible of them, all rush in upon you. The burden of self-deception has grown too heavy, and some minor incident, in my case my little boy, hardly more than a baby, saying ‘Jewish swine,’ collapses it all at once, and you see that everything, everything, has changed and changed completely under your nose. The world you live in—your nation, your people—is not the world you were born in at all. The forms are all there, all untouched, all reassuring, the houses, the shops, the jobs, the mealtimes, the visits, the concerts, the cinema, the holidays. But the spirit, which you never noticed because you made the lifelong mistake of identifying it with the forms, is changed. Now you live in a world of hate and fear, and the people who hate and fear do not even know it themselves; when everyone is transformed, no one is transformed. Now you live in a system which rules without responsibility even to God. The system itself could not have intended this in the beginning, but in order to sustain itself it was compelled to go all the way.
“Once the war began, the government could do anything ‘necessary’ to win it; so it was with the ‘final solution of the Jewish problem,’ which the Nazis always talked about but never dared undertake, not even the Nazis, until war and its ‘necessities’ gave them the knowledge that they could get away with it. The people abroad who thought that war against Hitler would help the Jews were wrong. And the people in Germany who, once the war had begun, still thought of complaining, protesting, resisting, were betting on Germany’s losing the war. It was a long bet. Not many made it.”
How ironic then that the persecuted have become the persecutors, using the tactics of their former oppressors to destroy those they wish to control and/or exterminate. 9/11 was their Reichstag Fire (a near-perfect False Flag Operation – but for the “Dancing Israelis”), the pretext to launch their plan – rooted in revenge and greed. But they have taken it one step farther, compelling others to do the job on their behalf.

Hey Mitt,
Explain the humanity and fairness of this:
1. “There is a huge gap between us (Jews) and our enemies not just in ability but in morality, culture, sanctity of life, and conscience. They are our neighbors here, but it seems as if at a distance of a few hundred meters away, there are people who do not belong to our continent, to our world, but actually belong to a different galaxy.” Israeli president Moshe Katsav. The Jerusalem Post, May 10, 2001
2. “The Palestinians are like crocodiles, the more you give them meat, they want more”…. Ehud Barak, Prime Minister of Israel at the time – August 28, 2000. Reported in the Jerusalem Post August 30, 2000
3. ” [The Palestinians are] beasts walking on two legs.” Menahim Begin, speech to the Knesset, quoted in Amnon Kapeliouk, “Begin and the Beasts”. New Statesman, 25 June 1982.
4. “The Palestinians” would be crushed like grasshoppers … heads smashed against the boulders and walls.” ” Isreali Prime Minister (at the time) in a speech to Jewish settlers New York Times April 1, 1988
5. “When we have settled the land, all the Arabs will be able to do about it will be to scurry around like drugged cockroaches in a bottle.” Raphael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defence Forces, New York Times, 14 April 1983.
6. “How can we return the occupied territories? There is nobody to return them to.” Golda Maier, March 8, 1969.
7. “There was no such thing as Palestinians, they never existed.” Golda Maier Israeli Prime Minister June 15, 1969
8. “The thesis that the danger of genocide was hanging over us in June 1967 and that Israel was fighting for its physical existence is only bluff, which was born and developed after the war.” Israeli General Matityahu Peled, Ha’aretz, 19 March 1972.
9. David Ben Gurion (the first Israeli Prime Minister): “If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti – Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault ? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?” Quoted by Nahum Goldmann in Le Paraddoxe Juif (The Jewish Paradox), pp121.
10. Ben Gurion also warned in 1948 : “We must do everything to insure they ( the Palestinians) never do return.” Assuring his fellow Zionists that Palestinians will never come back to their homes. “The old will die and the young will forget.”
11. “We have to kill all the Palestinians unless they are resigned to live here as slaves.” Chairman Heilbrun of the Committee for the Re-election of General Shlomo Lahat, the mayor of Tel Aviv, October 1983.
12. “Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don’t worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it.” – Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, October 3, 2001, to Shimon Peres, as reported on Kol Yisrael radio. (Certainly the FBI’s cover-up of the Israeli spy ring/phone tap scandal suggests that Mr. Sharon may not have been joking.)
13. “We declare openly that the Arabs have no right to settle on even one centimeter of Eretz Israel… Force is all they do or ever will understand. We shall use the ultimate force until the Palestinians come crawling to us on all fours.” Rafael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces – Gad Becker, Yediot Ahronot 13 April 1983, New York Times 14 April 1983.
14. “We must do everything to ensure they [the Palestinian refugees] never do return” David Ben-Gurion, in his diary, 18 July 1948, quoted in Michael Bar Zohar’s Ben-Gurion: the Armed Prophet, Prentice-Hall, 1967, p. 157.
15. “We should prepare to go over to the offensive. Our aim is to smash Lebanon, Trans-Jordan, and Syria. The weak point is Lebanon, for the Moslem regime is artificial and easy for us to undermine. We shall establish a Christian state there, and then we will smash the Arab Legion, eliminate Trans-Jordan; Syria will fall to us. We then bomb and move on and take Port Said, Alexandria and Sinai.” David Ben-Gurion, May 1948, to the General Staff. From Ben-Gurion, A Biography, by Michael Ben-Zohar, Delacorte, New York 1978.
16. “We must use terror, assassination, intimidation, land confiscation, and the cutting of all social services to rid the Galilee of its Arab population.” Israel Koenig, “The Koenig Memorandum”
17. “Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist. Not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul; Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushua in the place of Tal al-Shuman. There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population.” Moshe Dayan, address to the Technion, Haifa, reported in Haaretz, April 4, 1969.
18. “We walked outside, Ben-Gurion accompanying us. Allon repeated his question, What is to be done with the Palestinian population?’ Ben-Gurion waved his hand in a gesture which said ‘Drive them out!’” Yitzhak Rabin, leaked censored version of Rabin memoirs, published in the New York Times, 23 October 1979.
19. Rabin’s description of the conquest of Lydda, after the completion of Plan Dalet. “We shall reduce the Arab population to a community of woodcutters and waiters” Uri Lubrani, PM Ben-Gurion’s special adviser on Arab Affairs, 1960. From “The Arabs in Israel” by Sabri Jiryas.
20. “There are some who believe that the non-Jewish population, even in a high percentage, within our borders will be more effectively under our surveillance; and there are some who believe the contrary, i.e., that it is easier to carry out surveillance over the activities of a neighbor than over those of a tenant. [I] tend to support the latter view and have an additional argument:…the need to sustain the character of the state which will henceforth be Jewish…with a non-Jewish minority limited to 15 percent. I had already reached this fundamental position as early as 1940 [and] it is entered in my diary.” Joseph Weitz, head of the Jewish Agency’s Colonization Department. From Israel: an Apartheid State by Uri Davis, p.5.
21. “Everybody has to move, run and grab as many hilltops as they can to enlarge the settlements because everything we take now will stay ours… Everything we don’t grab will go to them.” Ariel Sharon, Israeli Foreign Minister, addressing a meeting of militants from the extreme right-wing Tsomet Party, Agence France Presse, November 15, 1998.
22. “It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to public opinion, clearly and courageously, a certain number of facts that are forgotten with time. The first of these is that there is no Zionism, colonialization or Jewish State without the eviction of the Arabs and the expropriation of their lands.” Yoram Bar Porath, Yediot Aahronot, of 14 July 1972.
23. “Spirit the penniless population across the frontier by denying it employment… Both the process of expropriation and the removal of the poor must be carried out discreetly and circumspectly.” Theodore Herzl, founder of the World Zionist Organization, speaking of the Arabs of Palestine,Complete Diaries, June 12, 1895 entry.
24. “One million Arabs are not worth a Jewish fingernail.” — Rabbi Yaacov Perrin, Feb. 27, 1994 [Source: N.Y. Times, Feb. 28, 1994, p. 1]
25. “We Jews, we are the destroyers and will remain the destroyers. Nothing you can do will meet our demands and needs. We will forever destroy because we want a world of our own.” (You Gentiles, by Jewish Author Maurice Samuels, p. 155).
26. “We will establish ourselves in Palestine whether you like it or not…You can hasten our arrival or you can equally retard it. It is however better for you to help us so as to avoid our constructive powers being turned into a destructive power which will overthrow the world.” (Chaim Weizmann, Published in “Judische Rundschau,” No. 4, 1920)

January 22nd, 2008 at 6:35 pmDoublethink:
To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully-constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them; to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the {GOP}Party was the guardian of democracy; to forget whatever it was necessary to forget,
then to draw it back at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again: and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself. That was the ultimate subtlety: consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word ‘doublethink’ involved using doublethink.[1]

The American raison d’être for war against Iraq was publicized as a battle against terrorists and their supporters. The real reason has very little to do with terrorism or any other “threats” against the United States. We will understand that the truth behind this war campaign has everything to do with the ideal for a greater Israel and its growing manipulation of oil interests.
Israel has more at stake against Iraq than any other nation. Certainly, their vast intelligence (i.e. Mossad) would provide any evidence, no matter how small, for convincing America that it should go to war with Iraq. Hence, the lack of “outside intelligence” is simply because there is no evidence.
Every UN report provided virtually no evidence against Iraq of the existence of nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons.
There is no question the US foreign policy is being dictated by Israel. One has to wonder why American policy is identical to Israel’s.
Our present monetary system is about to collapse, as any pyramid scheme eventually does. The Federal Reserve has tried every available means of solving it and sustaining the United States’ global dominance. As has been in the past, the only remaining, politically viable option is war.
Israel and its American-Jewish lobby’s extraordinary influence over the political spectrum of the United States dictated the governmental spending of millions of dollars for propaganda to demonize Saddam, and is now doing the same to condition the American People to kill Iranians.
As we watch the war drama unfold, we are presented with an orchestrated script from the Jewish controlled Western newsrooms.
“I devote my life to the rebirth of the Jewish State, with a Jewish majority, on both sides of the Jordan.”
- In 1934, Ze’ev Jabotinsky
Zionist Israel covets the furthest edges of the trans-Jordan for its vast oil deposits. Zionists were not satisfied with the land they were dealt from the very beginning. They looked at it as a temporary settlement and would not quit until Eretz Israel was achieved.
Israel is a “war” state.

The Reichstag Burns
Adolf Hitler, the new Chancellor of Germany, had no intention of abiding by the rules of democracy. He intended only to use those rules to legally establish himself as dictator as quickly as possible then begin the Nazi revolution.
Even before he was sworn in, he was at work to accomplish that goal by demanding new elections. While Hindenburg waited impatiently in another room, Hitler argued with conservative leader Hugenberg, who vehemently opposed the idea. Hitler’s plan was to establish a majority of elected Nazis in the Reichstag which would become a rubber stamp, passing whatever laws he desired while making it all perfectly legal.
Hitler’s storm troopers were about to reach new heights of power of their own and begin a reign of terror.
President Hindenburg had fallen under Hitler’s spell and was signing just about anything put in front of him. He signed an emergency decree that put the German state of Prussia into the hands of Hitler confidant, Vice Chancellor Papen. Göring as Minister of the Interior for Prussia took control of the police. Prussia was Germany’s biggest and most important state and included the capital of Berlin.
Göring immediately replaced hundreds of police officials loyal to the republic with Nazi officials loyal to Hitler. He also ordered the police not to interfere with the SA and SS under any circumstances. This meant that anybody being harassed, beaten, or even murdered by Nazis, had nobody to turn to for help.

January 22nd, 2008 at 6:56 pmThe Big Lie
All this was inspired by the principle – which is quite true in itself – that in The Big Lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper stata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily, and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to The Big Lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods.
It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.
- Adolf Hitler, in Mein Kampf (emphasis added)
January 22nd, 2008 at 6:57 pm“Most people prefer to believe that their leaders are just and fair, even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a citizen acknowledges that the government under which he lives is lying and corrupt, the citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. To take action in the face of corrupt government entails risks of harm to life and loved ones. To choose to do nothing is to surrender one’s self-image of standing for principles. Most people do not have the courage to face that choice. Hence, most propaganda is not designed to fool the critical thinker but only to give moral cowards an excuse not to think at all.â€

January 22nd, 2008 at 7:16 pmohmittmittmittmitt. ohmitt. (howcouldyousaysucha dumbassthing?)
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:16 pmSadly, and in concurrence with Plunger, the real agenda will not be made known for perhaps decades. The main thing to keep in mind is that it’s all “smoke and mirrors” and the real government of this country is not the one which we see everyday.
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:17 pmPlunger: Michael Riviera’s quote is a good one – “American incredulity” is what this fascist administration absolutely counted on. This guy hit the nail on the head.
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:19 pmThe historical irony here is that in the 30’s, it was the conservative republicans who strongly argued for appeasement and staying out of the conflict and the liberal democrats who wanted to get involved, stop the slaughter and restore democracy to Europe. In fact the attempted coup to overthrow FDR’s new government in 1933 was planned by wealthy conservative industrialists who felt that democracy was too messy and Hitler had great ideas for the proper running of society.
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:20 pmRomney’s reference to Hitler is the quintessence of projection. He’d be another Hitler so he’s creating the master illusion by pretending to abhore and be opposite in philosophy. However, The Mutt’s said enough to provide a glimpse of his demented persona along the way. Given another couple of months and his posters will bear a swastica and a pencilled in moustache!
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:21 pmSimply allow yourself to assume the worst of them…then imagine something even more insane than that.
That is what they are up to.
Take global domination and genocide to its furthest extreme in your mind.
Imagine accumulating all of the wealth and territory worth a damn….
Then kill everybody you don’t like.
This entire thing is so close to launching a complete “end of planet earth,†it’s certainly not even funny.
These are mad men – facing war crimes – with nukes.
Wild cornered animal / all or nothing stage.
Blackmail is the PRIMARY TOOL.
Congress and the MSM know the deal.

sounds medieval almost. If it’s not worth plunder then destroy it……we’re not so modern after all are we?
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:22 pmDiplomacy is like accommodating Hitler?
This guy has been reading way too much fiction. It has warped his mind.
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:36 pmBut what do I know? I’m just a rebellious Lamanite…..
Didn’t Jesus say ‘launch the other blitzkrieg’ or something?

January 22nd, 2008 at 7:53 pmRomney is on a Mormon Jihad. He wants to appease his own small mind by using the USA to invade Iran.
January 22nd, 2008 at 8:07 pmIt’s my understanding the Bush family was very accommodating to Hitler.
And this guy (Romney) believes some plates were dug up by an illiterate guy, and lots of wives are good.
January 22nd, 2008 at 8:15 pmGOP pigs just think its sooooo clever to equate opposition to the illegal, immoral war to appeasement of Hitler. No real basis, just GOP cute. BARF. This country can’t take much more of this stupid $hit.
January 22nd, 2008 at 8:22 pmRomney wants to be the first Mormon dictator in history.

he’s just another mormon dick.
January 22nd, 2008 at 8:45 pmHistory lesson here – Hitler invaded one country, said it was necessary and that he wouldn’t invade any more. Then he invaded “just one more” and said he’s stop there. Ten invaded “just one more” etc. etc.
Who has Iran invaded recently ?
Who has Iraq fought recently ?
Who has the USA invaded recently, saying that it is only one country and then started plans to invade to the east of the first country ?
January 22nd, 2008 at 9:28 pmSlightly tangential – the PBS station here ran last week, “Nazi America: A Secret History”. Didn’t focus on the Prescott Bush fan club, but it covered a lot of how the Nazi dictum resonated in 1930s america including summer camps for the kids, camps used for the good Nazi families to get together for a week or two retreat of indoctrination, etc.
I was especially struck by the Nazi focus on “Family Values”. Of course, the Bushes love talking about “A New World Order.”

January 23rd, 2008 at 12:26 amHis Mormon underwear must be two sizes too small — it’s cutting off the supply of blood to his brain.
Following his beliefs to their logical conclusion, Richard Nixon was the greatest appeaser in American history for negotiating the SALT I treaty with the Soviets and for opening up diplomatic relations with Communist China.
January 23rd, 2008 at 12:41 amTo connect, this was from “Will Fox News Attack Fred Thompson As Unable To ‘Face Al Qaeda’ For Skipping Its GOP Debate” here
This is indeed projection. We’re the one invading a country to neutralize and dominate it, like the Soviets and others.
Well if the opposition can’t be the awful Jews (since they’re good) and Romas (Communists, maybe), then they’re weak appeasers and sympathizers to radical Islam, but it’s okay if it’s Saudi Arabia or Sudan or Pakistan’s fundamentalists.
I don’t want to be in more Weimar apathy! That’s appeasement, enforce the Constitution.
January 23rd, 2008 at 1:26 am.
Let’s see here…
Hitler had his agenda bent on purifying Europe of Jews(common enemy #1) based on bias, fear, and greed. As a result, many countries were invaded and occupied, millions of people fled and millions died.
Some could argue that Bush is hell bent on purifying the Middle East of Islamic radicals(common enemy #1) fighting against our invasion of their lands(other countries) and subsequent occupation. As a result, millions have fled and over a million have died.
I can see the similarities… NO?

Yeah diplomacy is ALWAYS a bad idea of course. Lets hear from the next president of the USA, John McCain:
bomb bomb bomb Iran…
Republicans – the party of VERY bad singers…
January 23rd, 2008 at 3:11 am#52 you know how Hitler Justified invading Poland? He claimed they were a threat to Germany. Sound familiar?
#67 If you or any other Republican knew anything about actual real world history you might understand that the collapse of the Soviet Union was inevitable. Their policies and shear size ditated their collapse.
I find it interesting that in one Paragraph you seem to not like the notion that China is moving to a capitalist basis. Nixon apparently did bad thing and now 1.3 billion people are begining to move away from the dreaded idology. Then in the very next paragraph you praise Reagan for his supposed un doing of the SU. China is converting without turmoil and they are being successful. The soviet Union fell into turmoil and disaray and it is interesting that you think the orderly peaceful move is the bad one. It says a tremendous amount about you.

January 23rd, 2008 at 9:08 amThank you Think progress, I would never vote for Mitt, but I was lately thinking , well maybe he’d be o.k. as president. This splash of cold water woke me.
January 23rd, 2008 at 9:21 amWhen I read this crap it makes my head want to explode. And these are the best the gop has to offer. Pathetic really.
January 23rd, 2008 at 10:43 amAppeasing them? If anything, Middle eastern countries are appeasing the US and have been for decades.
January 23rd, 2008 at 1:54 pm#52 you know how Hitler Justified invading Poland? He claimed they were a threat to Germany. Sound familiar?
The real comparison to Hitler is Iran, who resembles Germany in 1938–only Iran wishes to acquire nukes. No option should be off-the-table in discussing how we will handle the Iranian menace.

January 23rd, 2008 at 3:53 pmFred, Plunger, Veritas etal………………you guys are SO RIGHT on the Hitler comparisons I have poted extensively on the similarities between the Bush Cheney power grab and the Hitler Power grab as well as the clear fascism used by both. I’ve seen the CLEAR similarities for the last 6 years now the Echoes or Hitler and Orwell’s 1984 used in Bush Co’s tactics are truly chilling!

“OMG…we have neanderthals and slugs running for the highest office…..God Save America.”
Here is a case of someone accusing Romney of being a troglodyte of some 50 thousand years ago or an invertebrate probably unchanged in thousands of years and then appealing to The Big Guy in the Sky, the Santa Claus for Adults to save America. Go figure! The jasons of the country and the world are a MAJOR part of the problem and of little or no help in producing a solution.
