Then why did they never take a tougher stance in defiance?!?! Why have they simply nodded their heads and allowed the the President to get away with it?!?

If you’re looking for sympathy, Rohrabacher, you’ll get none from me. The fact is that most people play at least some passive role in their own victimization, even if simply by failing to stand up for themselves and giving other people implicit permission to run roughshod over them. You’re definitely correct in your assessment that the President has chosen to ignore the Congress, but that’s partially your own fault because you let him do it. It’s not as if you guys don’t have teeth, but what good are they to you if you never use them?

Tax rebate cash will be on borrowed ‘foreign interests’ money.

Consumers will buy cheap goods made by foreign outsourced labor & manufacturing.

Is this the plan?

It looks to me like China & other foreign money interests will ‘win’ twice!

I disagree. If Bill and Arnold make it easier to get checking accounts, then the working poor won’t have 10 per cent or moretaken out of their paychecck because they have to go to a currency exchange to cash it, and get hit for a money order when they have to pay by mail. These are predatory fees forced on the people who can least afford them.

If there’s one thing that makes me so furious I can’t see straaight, it’s these payday loan places, title-loan stores.check-to-cash loan shark arrangements–complete with TV ads!–thatcharge astronomical rates for a few day’s loan, as well as the rental places that charge 30 bucks a WEEK for a $600 computer.
These sharks prey on the poor, charging them a fortune for things that cost us little–because they don’t have something as simple as a checking account.

Well, I’m glad Gigi’s here to tell us how rosy our economic future is with the tax rebates.

Apparently, housing is going to rebound next week, manufacturing will ADD jobs instead of shedding them, the dollar is going to climb back to parity with the Euro by Wednesday, and the market will crest 15,000 by Groundhog Day. And by Valentine’s Day, the budget deficit will be gone and the US will be the world’s greatest creditor nation again.

Giving in? The tax relief was a Replican idea from the beginning, as opposed to the Democrat partyâ€™s idea to increase â€œentitlements.â€ It is Pelosi who has caved by dropping her entitlement based proposals to boost food stamps and extend unemployment benefits.
