“Republican Sen. John McCain is skipping President Bush’s State of the Union address on Monday night even though Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton plan to attend.”

He also senses that the Bush family is supporting M. Romney. To be with Lieberman these days is all what he wants.
With the little success he got so far in the primaries, he already started to talk about his war plans

So he is very busy to sit down and listen to Bush. Plus what Bush is going to say is already known anyway..and it is his last speech.

Being the most likely Republican nominee, McCain has to now start to try and put distance between himself and the Bush regime before the general elections. Expect to hear a lot of hollow criticism of Bush from McCain in the next year. McCain is joined at the hip with the Bush regime, don’t let him put a fraction of a millimeter of daylight between himself and Bush.

Most all Floridians will be watching the event, and he is the only Rep Prez candidate with a ticket – what a fool. If he were smart, he would attend and applaud Bush where they agree, or frown where they don’t, but at least he would be part of the big show. Now he is no better than the rest of the pack. Is he afraid that he will get a kiss like Lieberman?

January 27th, 2008 at 10:33 pmSo, are Hillary and Obama attending to reassure potential voters that not that much will change if either of them is elected president?
After all, Hillary supported the Kyl-Lieberman amendment, essentially giving W. the green light to attack Iran, and Obama indicated last summer that he’d launch attacks in Pakistan with or without their permission if he came to believe that viable Al Qaeda targets existed there.
And don’t forget that both Hillary and Obama supported the Oman Free Trade agreement, and although they were in Iowa at the time of the vote, both indicated their support for the more recent Peru Free Trade agreement. For those who think that NAFTA and CAFTA are the greatest thing since sliced bread, if Hillary or Obama become the Democratic nominee, free traders can rest easy because it won’t matter who gets elected. Anyone remember Perot’s statement in 1992 about that “giant sucking sound”?

Normally, I would listen when the president said anything — even if I didn’t agree with what he said. However, THIS president has lied so much that when he speaks, it’s just noise.

Hillary Clinton will be in the Senate tomorrow to vote “no” on cloture on the Intel version of the FISA bill. The vote is scheduled to take place at 4:30 pm tomorrow.
I’ve also been trying to confirm whether Barack Obama will be there. His campaign people have not gotten back to me, but Obama does have a 4pm fundraiser scheduled in Washington DC.
Bravo, Senator Clinton. Well done.
UPDATE: The Obama campaign confirms that Senator Obama will be there too, and voting “no.” Way to go, Senator.
