Novak floats Condi as McCain’s VP.

By Faiz on Jan 27th, 2008 at 12:15 pm

Novak floats Condi as McCain’s VP.»

Last night on Fox, host Geraldo Rivera asked Bob Novak “who does McCain pick as his running mate” if he were to win the Republican nomination? “The most interesting running mate I’ve heard is Condoleezza Rice,” Novak said, eliciting a big “whoa” from Rivera. “Ordinary people” think the McCain/Rice pairing is “terrific,” Novak said, but “politicians don’t like it.” Watch it:

Editor’s Note: After checking the transcript, it appears Novak said “politicians” — not Republicans — “don’t like it.” Thanks to the commenters who raised this.

Novack is also a dickhead. He’s also a traitor to his country, but before that, he’s first and foremost a dickhead.

  2. rastaman Says:

    hahahaha…..again…these idiots are completely deluded.

the GOP is going to have to worry about being decimated….not about who’s going to potentially be the VP.

  3. Jason M. Hendler Says:

Condi doesn’t make sense as a “ticket-balancer” with McCain, since his foreign policy experience is strong. McCain needs someone who can shore up his own weaknesses, such as business acumen, so he should seek a Guilianni or Romney or Bloomberg or anyone else known for strong business acumen.

  4. Krazny Says:

Given Rice’s poor performance as secretary of state, a VP slot is plain silly. On a broader note, since Guilianni is so well disliked by middle America, I think a McCain/Guilianni ticket would be perfect.

  5. katy Says:

    i hear “the po_ticians don’t like it”…

but, how ’bout those “ordinary people”! huh? huh? woopee!

  6. Wayne A. Schneider Says:

Ergo, Republicans are not ordinary people.

  7. TheToonGuy Says:

Business acumen? So your wish is for another CEO president that runs everything into the ground before pulling the ripcord on his golden parachute? Puh-leeze!

  8. stewarjt Says:

Obviously Dr. Rice deserves a shot at VP because she has distinguished herself in Dinkledorf’s administration with her…um…uh…Well she just deserves to be VP.

ok,ok,ok,ok now that I have stopped choking on that and wiped the monitor clean (coffee all over the place) who in god’s name is taking this seriously. Novak could go and write copy for Stephen Colbert.

  12. Wayne A. Schneider Says:

I cannot understand why conservatives feel that in order to be good at governance, you have to be good at business. This is a fallacy that they continue to perpetuate despite all the evidence to the contrary. For those conservatives who have their heads in the sand (when they’re not buried in Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal), the economy is not doing well by the standards of those of us who are not wealthy. Oh, sure, the rich people think it’s great because they’re getting richer and richer (and paying less and less of their fair share in taxes), but it’s not. And we got this way because of the policies of an MBA president. So why do conservatives insist on believing that you have to be good at business to be good governing? The two have mutually-exclusive goals. Before Bush, the last Republican president who came from a business background was Hoover, and we all know how that turned out.

  13. Daniel Says:

maybe he’ll pick someone like Ted Kennedy or Russ Feingold to show independents he’s not really all that conservative.

  14. Buckie Boy Says:

And where did you get these “Ordinary people”? Oh, it was someone you asked on the street, was it?

Again with total made up BS from this Traitor, they think they can just make up BS and have everyone believe it.

Well the unthinking Lemming Brownshirt Fascist will believe anything these blowhards tell them.

    Buck Fush

  15. Wayne Says:

    Yeah, sure Condi for vp.

Then instead of having secret meetings with the oil industry, like Cheney did, she can have secret meetings with the shoe industry. She can set the shoe policy for the US, and broker better deals for herself in the process.

Their campaign slogan can be “If the shoe fits”

  16. RickD Says:

    Giuliani has business acumen?

Does Rice have any credibility left with the public? She was the worst National Security Advisor in the history of the post. How does she explain away 9/11 and the Iraq invasion?

I remember a few years back Dick Morris was peddling his Rice v. Hillary theory. These pundits need to remember Condi Rice has never run for any elected office in her life. She’s completely untested and I don’t think she’d fare well. Plus, you’d be asking the racist part of the party to vote for a black woman. Good luck with that!

Republicans simply don’t calibrate against reality. Misguided ideology informs everything they do. Witness the imbecilic comments posted by Hendler, Frank M, and Cpt. ManLover.

  19. doro Says:

Condihihihihi weepee !! Sorry folks, but if the US wants to have any respectability back in the world, they better bury everybody who has taken part in the Bush Administration, and bury them deep.

  20. dalloway Says:

Why is the MSM dominated by clueless old white guys? Novak floated Condi because he thinks the Obama phenomenon stems from his being African American and that the Rethugs need to appear less racist (while not actually being less racist). Novak completely misses Obama’s message of hope and change, his charisma and his intelligence. But what can you expect from a guy who thought Bush was the savior of the nation?

  21. dbadass Says:

  25. Marcus Aurelius Says:

No one from the BA is eligible to hold office in the next Republican administration (and that should be quite a long way off), because they will all be in prison.

Condi’s breath must smell of dead innocents.

  26. Badmoodman Says:

If McCain wants an intelligent, well-reasoned, thoughtful black woman as his VP, he should pick Michelle Obama. Oh, wait….

  27. GSD Says:

Talk about making wingnut heads explode! A McCondi ticket would sent the wingers running for the hills.

    Bring it on.

  28. ScrewBush Says:

Oh please God, make Novak’s dream come true, please, please please.

You’d have to all admit, this ticket would give the Dems a victory of historic proportions and perhaps lead to the absolute ruin of the Republican party — minimally everyone who currently runs the party would be out of a job.

    Please make it real, please!

  29. burro Says:

    Wow, that’s a great idea.

Condi’s cluelessness on foreign policy, (and everything else pretty much beyond stylish boots), and Ancient McCain’s cluelessness on the economy, (and everything else pretty much beyond life as a POW), wll dovetail nicely to continue the reign of blind ass dumbf**kery begun by their predecessors and enabled and perpetuated along the way, of course, by this newly minted dream team.

Put ‘em in a room together for a week and they couldn’t come up with the glimmer of a fresh idea.

Isn’t there a new movie out about these two? “The Dumbbell and the Cipherfly”?

What “ordinary people” is he talking about. None that I know of. Most people I know think that Condi Rice is a sorry excuse for a human being.

Novak is such a tool. Why does anyone give him the time of day any longer? He’s such a media whore, he will say anything just to get his name in the press.

  36. Robt Says:

Floating Condi as VP resembles a methane bubble rising in the bathtub water…….! The stench after it surfaces………..

Come on Republicans, where are Newt, Jeb, Delay, Frist, or even Rush or Coulter.?

Is their buoyancy that of a brick?

  37. bilbobaggins Says:

    Comment by Jason M. Hendler

The neoCON tool Jason rears his ugly head again. Too bad, I thought we were rid of his stench. He thinks a Guiliani or Romney (with their excellent business acumen) would be a good pick. Romney who has made money buying companies, laying off workers and then selling the company sounds like just what we need for this country. And then there is Guiliani who took a surplus in New York and turned it into a huge deficit (sound familiar anyone?) is also another excellent choice in his mind.

Go away Jason. No one here cares what you think about anything. You are a Borg Republiscum who hasn’t had an original thought since second grade.

  38. bilbobaggins Says:

Jason. You’re right. But most don’t think as deeply as you do. She’s a black chick and he’s a white guy. That’s as deep as it gets for most.
    Comment by CaptainMantastic

What a hoot. Captain and Jason sitting in a tree k i s s i n g. Both Republiscum tools with a combined IQ of somewhere around room temperature.

  39. PeterW Says:

#15 I cannot understand why conservatives feel that in order to be good at governance, you have to be good at business.

Indeed, the opposite is true. In business, one often succeeds by externalizing as many costs as possible onto the commons, and onto the people. Save money in an industrial process by dumping waste. Externalize labor costs by employing Chinese slave labor, even though you’re whittling away at your domestic customer base.

In government, this business model fails utterly - because in government, you’re running the commons. There’s nowhere to externalize your bad practices, except to the future. So conservative business model governance inevitably means insane amounts of debt. And you can only do that as long as you have borrowers that have faith in your bonds and in your currency.

    Oops.

  40. bilbobaggins Says:

Wouldn’t work. Middle America would never accept Condi.

Really folks, don’t talk to these idiots. Talk about them, but don’t talk to them. When you talk to them you validate their existence. When you talk about them you don’t.

If you can’t understand what’s profitable and what’s not, how can you run effective government?
    Comment by Frank M

Republiscum tool Francine seems to think that our government should be run for profit. If that’s the case, then why is she still supporting Bush? He turned a profit into a loss quicker than sh!t and has borrowed this country to the brink of bankruptcy. If that’s the kind of business acumen she thinks we need in our government, she needs some serious mental health assistance. I pity Francine.

    Comment by Frank M — January 27, 2008 @ 1:12 pm

I am pretty sure that quality healthcare and education along with a clean environment, solid infrastructure and a humble world presence would really be super profitable for all but me thinks your definition of profit might be a bit different. You equate profit with how much shit you have right?

  43. Nevar Says:

    Novak drops a floater.

  44. PeterW Says:

I think a small businessman probably does have good experience that would be useful in government, because of small business’ inability to effectively externalize costs. A small business must run sustainably.

Big business? Not a freakin’ chance. Big business, especially in the MBA era, is a cancer.

  45. Xisithrus Says:

    I can see it now;

    McCain; “Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran”
    Condi; “Bomb IrannNNnn!”
McCain; “Oh bomb Iran, Condi take my hand”
    Condi; “Bomb IrannNNnn!”
McCain; “You got me flipping and a floppin!”
    Condi: “Mushroom cloudin!”
    McCain; “Bomb Iran ba ba..”
    Condi: “Ba bomb Iran”

Anyway, Condis foreign policy is a failure and McCain knows little about economics.

  46. mongo Says:

“Ordinary people” think the McCain/Rice pairing is “terrific,” Novak said, but “politicians don’t like it.”

Please, do this. This would absolutely be the best first step in assuring complete republic party defeat in November.

I would also suggest announcing additional bush dynasty members as part of his planned cabinet to ensure the public knows that a mccain administration would do everything it can to further the successes of the last 7 years of republic party rule:

    –cheney as secretary of state
–rumsfeld as secretary of defense (since it worked so well before)
–rove as head of homeland security(soon to be renamed department of patriotism)

That exactly the problem with these Repugnicants. The think that Government should be profitable. But after all, just look how profitable it’s been these last 7 years for Halliburton, Big Pharma and the oil industry.

The have been very successful at lining their own coffers while bankrupting the what government is actually suppossed to do, like Katrina and National Security and… well you know what I mean.

As far as the fascists are concerned, it’s been a wild success.

Remember 9/11? That’s Bush’s legacy, along with Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld and the rest of the treason party.

Yet, lookie here, the rich and the corporatists are the ones who now use them the most. THey have their trucks rolling and breaking the roadways at a much greaterr rate than regular citizen travelers. Yet they do not pay more. Hmm go figure.
Business is a cancer. Business’ ultimate endpoint is tyrannical monoply. Business holds NO CITIZENSHIP, but yet enjoys personhood status. How is that? Business gets to influence (to an unconsitutional advantage) elections through their excerise of free speech, but yet they do not have the right to vote, hmmm. How is that? That is like allowing convicted felons control over the elections.
Business holds the ability to own controlling interests in other buisnesses thereby hiding their affairs. Hmm, how is that?

    Business is anti-American

I just got back from a business trip where I was working with a few of them who happened to be blacklisted by Bush and were froced to leave the country. Why? because Bush instituted a policy during one election to have everyone submit their fingerprint and he was able to deduce who voted against him. Those who did were slowly being forced out - cant get jobs, and had to leave the country. not only that, but the people are reporting to their family that have left that when they go to the grocery store (where they have to provide their government ID #) that they are being questioned as to the where abouts of the family members and why they arent shopping at the government subsidized grocery store. Hmmm, sounds like a Neo-traitor’s Paradise.

I generally agree with your ideas, bilbo. But will you please stop calling Frank M. “Francine?” I take this as an insult to my gender. I’m fairly sure that since the disappearance of the UnslightyAphrodite/VapidVenus troll, TP hasn’t had a female poster as stupid as Frank.

Ha, Novak is just funning with us. At the possibility of Rice as VP, the sane public would demand a special prosecutor to investigate every Bushie disaster from “Bin Laden determined to strike…” through WMD to the Attormey General firings and every administration action in between.

That was sarcasm. I guess I should have spelled it out, considering your moniker.

Conservative TARDS like you aren’t good at COMEDY or ECONOMICS, you should steer clear of both, and you should keep doing the only thing you’ll ever be good at, continuing to clean toilets ;)

Poor judgment, misguided ideology, projection, and calling everyone that isn’t far right - the far left, the definition of the far right. ;)

    You’re still spelling it wrong.

“In 1983 the band released its first album “Nena”, which contained the singles “Leuchtturm” (”Lighthouse”) and “99 Luftballons” (”99 Balloons”). 99 Luftballons became a number-one hit in Germany in 1983, and went on to major international chart success the following year, an English version hitting number one in the UK and the original German version hitting number two in the US.”

Congratulations, bud. You managed to post without getting hysterical and ROTFL. Seriously, though, you do know you are far left, right? I’d hate for you to walk around with the misperception that you aren’t. ;)

Aw c’mon, lefty. Far right? So is it my support for limited expansion of SCHIP and limited govt support for health insurance that makes me far right? Or, perhaps my belief that the Iraq war was wrong, that Bush’s fiscal policies have been wrong and he has been lousy at foreign affairs make me far right. Or maybe you equate being a Christian with being far right. Nevermind, now I see. It’s that I support limited govt aid and something other than full abandonment of all personal responsibility. ;)
