You can see why I don’t want to get into this – again. I told you I agreed with you, you ignore it suggest any who don’t agree with you are cowards. Oh well.

Oh, I know. That’s why I went FURTHER and put MORE PEOPLE IN LESS SPACE, because the problem is not the number of people, the number is not the number of people/ unit of surface. The problem is distribution of wealth. PERIOD.

You also completely ignore the point of ethnic homogenity. It matters.

Ethnic homogenity is just part of a secondary analysis. It all comes to economy. First, why are people migrating from their places to the more developed countries? Because it is impossible in those countries to have a decent meal, BECAUSE THE GAP BETWEEN RICH AND POOR IS ENORMOUS. The gap between rich and poor countries is also widening, it is not a local phenomena. If everybody had the necessary income to stay at home, there would be no forced migration and therefore no ethnic conflicts.

So, the comparison is invalid in your mind and I have to imagine that the US just disappears over the night? Let’s pretend it does, Russia and China will probably do what the US has been doing since WWII, like Britain before, like Spain before, like Rome before, etc. etc. etc.

That whole line about “saving thousands of American lives” is sad, deluded kool-aid induced bullshit.

Me, I think it is torture. I didn’t always til listening to the arguments here. But the legal status of water boarding is nebulous – not its moral status, its legal status. Immorality is not a warcrime. In a sense, all war is immoral by its very nature.

I don’t want to get too far into the weeds here, I am leaving work soon and for some reason can’t log on at home anymore, so I don’t want to be accused of running away. We have acknowledged waterboarding 2 AQ leaders, and in the course of doing so saved perhaps thousands of American lives. Perhaps yours, mine, our families.

I cannot adn will not pick the scab off the waterboarding debate with you here, especially since I largely agree with you. But I do think you should acknowledge that given the narrowness of the scope of its use, who it was used on and what the results were, the morality of the issue is not 100% black and white. Maybe it is to you, but you shouldn’t condemn those who see shades of grey here, IMHO.

BTW, I retracted the DK pandering comment many posts ago.

I never said anything about population DENSITY, it was purely based on POPULATION size. There are 300 million of us. Almost half of us already pay no income taxes at all and still receive many government services.

You also completely ignore the point of ethnic homogenity. It matters. The Danes are starting to realize this based on the problems they are starting to have with their Muslim immigrants.

Also, if Denmark vanished tomorrow, what would be the effect on global security? Little. If by contrast the US were to disappear, what do you think China and Russia would do? I know the US Military is a mixed bag historically, but they have been important in checking Russia and China, and before that the Axis.

The comparison is invalid in my mind. I admire the Scandivavian Model, I just don’t think it translates to the US.

However, those liberal leanings DO NOT invalidate what I say. I said that EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN whol believes in the Constitution and the rule of law – I did not qualify that with a “left-leaning” descriptor, because I don’t believe for one second that impeaching the criminals in the White House has a single thing to do with being either left-leaning or right-leaning.

It has to do with BEING A FRIGGIN’ AMERICAN.

So tell me, Keltoi – John Negroponte admitted today that we have used waterboarding on prisoners…is that not “torture”…? Is that not a war-crime? Did we not hang a Japanese soldier for waterboarding American soldiers…?

Explain how Monaco is the most density populated country in the world and everybody drives Mercedes Benz. Huh? Did I miss something?

Let me go further: Belgium, France, Switzerland and Germany. Almost all Europe is densely populated, meanwhile South American countries are listed at the bottom of the list and are some of the poorest countries and curiously enough the ones whose gap between rich and poor are widest. What happened?
